Shoutouts to hat monsters, sexual deviants and ponies. The Skullgirls fanbase definitely didn't do this alone.
Umbrella's disguise is so cuuuuute. :3
Don't feel too bad though. There is a good reason this campaign continues to break EVERY SINGLE EXPECTATION in front of it. It's because you guys give us a product that no one else in the industry can. It's an amalgation of the best fighting games have to offer in animation, technical prowess, gameplay(opinions, how do they work?), online smoothness and most important... it's freaking new instead of the fifteenth installment of a series we've been playing since we were 7.
Hopefully you'll be in a better place a year from now, though.
I remember watching the Defense Grid 2 KS youtube video and them being excited by the prospect of 6000 people to communicate with. Seems to me like you have a golden opportunity here from the very start.
I already put a hundo in. Thinking of upping to $150 for the official CD.
This was your whole plan along, wasn't it?It is the best, and you guys have no idea how happy this made me.
I can respect that. I like the original eight, but some of these designs are amazing aesthetically and from a gameplay perspective. That's how I feel sorta, well about the cast. I only like one character in the original roster... all the archtypes I like are stuck in concept form.
I like that they still go out of their way to remind us that we're getting extra stuff. I would have just forgotten lol.Just said on stream:
Animu Peacock is already funded (was a "secret" $650k stretch goal). 700k gets us "Real Soviet" Announcer pack.
EDIT: Hey Rich Brown.
Very unique stuff in there. Especially the tagging out stuff.Shoutouts to Mike Z stating his ideas for some stuff he wants Beowulf to do.
Paraphrased because its like 4 am and I can't remember verbatim.
"I really want him to just unfold his chair and sit on it and then spank someone."
"He could throw the chair like Cap's shield then he could have to go pick it up, but if he does a throw or something and they hit the chair it could do more damage."
"He could have top rope moves like if he did the move off the chair."
"I reaaaaally like the idea that if you choose him as a tag partner that he doesn't go offscreen. That he is on screen sitting on his chair and you have to go over to him and like actually tag him and he could all do the high five tag in and stuff."
I've felt that there was a lot more to this IP and it's fanbase than meets the eye. It's only held back by money. The thing that makes the world go spin.Someone should see what is going on and fund a sequel at some point, especially if this sells well on Steam.
Skullgirls is more about the fandom than the game, they should branch it out into non-fighters.
Awesome art is awesomeBTW, on Twitter:
On which we have these rather awesome avatar-material promo shots of four of the possible choices!
I forgot to update for the JP release, but I've been waiting for the campaign to be over before adding the stuff we got from there.Hey, so just a heads up for those who may have forgotten the community forums are even a thing: Skullgirls |OT| New age of Heroines
Props to SolarPowered for bothering to maintain the OP for so long despite
-Being relegated to the community ghetto
-Most people not reading the OP
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VId7EOTTOSwAgainst MVG though? Prepare your anus.
They are real and they are powerful. I bet we could have had the eighth character locked had the goal been higher.Holy fuck, I submit to the power of Bronies
Will it be on Xbox or Playstation? I only really play on the DS3 and DS2 nowadays.Another heads up for NYC peeps:

Team St1ckbug will be having an event this Saturday at Next Level that'll include tournaments for a bunch of games (P4A, GG, VSav, etc.). If enough people show up for Skullgirls, then they'll also stream that. So, consider giving that a look if you don't have any Saturday plans.
These closed platforms hurt small games the most. If the fanbase had at least one cross platform option the community would be better off. Only the CoDs, Halos and Battlefields have the size to maintain a healthy online playerbase, I think.6k to finish.... if people were insane we'd get to 825k, we need this game to become huge
I really wonder if we'll get Skullgirls 2 or this game will just keep updating forever, I really hope the PC version gets more support and makes the game popular(I'd sacrifice the console versions if it meant constant updates and balancing), it's sad to play on PSN and to wait 10 minutes for a match.
Ravi and the team should consider something like this, but maybe with their website or something. Maybe make three tiers with the highest having some physical swag and adding a counter to the 850k they need for a fifth character. I think we'll be so close by the end that it'll be worth a try. At least 825k would get us another mystery character and the game needs as many characters as possible. Why not do a second donation drive after all the content is completed? So many great characters to choose from.
I love this lol. Fighting games and Carl Sagan. Only in Skullgirls could you get this.I'm loving all the fan art
I'd say they're both pretty unique lol.Umm what?
A klutzy, fish princess, waitress.
vs
Gothic loli maid with a vacuum made of bones
They'll be partying in Equestria tonight. That much is for sure. The ponies will celebrate anyways!
It's possible. Anything is possible for this campaign, it seems.Holy shit. We made it. Hopefully Mane6 puts the Z-Engine to good use.
And Robo-Fortune, m'yeah.
Am I the only one who feels like 825k is within the realm of possibility?
He should voice Sagan. It'd be perfect. Sol Badguy archetype fighting with a partner that has David Hayter as the VA? GimmeHire David Hayter to voice Annie.
The best description for this campaign from start to finish. It's been ridiculous for... approximately 30 days.

True wordsAs much as I like this, I don't really want to do it again, either.
From a business standpoint, it's an incredibly inefficient way to get money, so I think it should only be used as a last resort.
I would really feel bad about needing to continue asking our fans for money, too. We are absolutely thrilled that they've supported us like this and even say they would happily do it again, but I think the best thing we could do for them would be to get stable and independent.

I've actually got a question now that I think about it. You are using Survey Monkey, right? Would you like to take this chance to ask some people questions directly? This seems like a golden opportunity to mine your fanbase and newcomers for data on what they'd like to see from the game(or you guys) in the future whether it has to do with more characters or completely new games, etc.Yeah, all of that will be handled once the campaign ends.

Everybody has to chip in this time. If just 1000 people up their contributions by $50 that would be 50k. If 2000 people upped $25 it'd be the same. I think you catch my drift. If we reach the 2nd character the hype will be insane.
