Oh man. Episode 18 of Gintama, the panty thief episode, is pretty much the best thing ever. I'd rank it up with the mushroom episode of Cowboy Bebop in the top anime comedy episodes I've seen.

So not only were Haganai LN volume 9 and the Buriki artbook delayed, but now all the rest of the Haganai NEXT BDs got pushed back a month.

The hell is going on?

It's gotta be the illustrator Buriki that's slowing things down. Buriki artbook delayed, Melonbooks bonus tapestry for the artbook still doesn't have a sample image published, not a single one of the Haganai BD shop bonus items with Buriki illustrations have sample images available, only Haganai BD cover illustration shown so far is vol. 1, and Haganai novel vol. 9 cover still not shown.

Ugh, I now have to finish S1 of Railgun now if I want to keep up. Does it closely follow the manga version? Cause I can just pick up from there.

The back half was anime-original material. The first episode of S references back to it, and I'd be astonished if the shows back-half doesn't start playing on some of that stuff some more as well.

This is a lot of fun. Sakuga show of the season.

It's got a very laid-back pace, and while the humor doesn't always hit, it's fun when it does. And when it doesn't, it's very easy on the eyes. There's a lot more effort put into the animation than you'd usually expect, especially from a comedy like this.

That and the half-length episodes make this a pretty easy sell for me.

Just watched Little Witch Academia. Why is there only 24 minutes of perfection? I NEED MOAR. ;-;

I need a 20+ episode series of LWA, yet it'll never happen...

Tamako Market 3 - 8

One of my close friends who lives up in Kyoto just tweeted this to me:

I lived next to the real Tamako Market arcade for 3 years-- it's shocking how they CHANGED NOTHING! Tamako's family's sweets store is real, and is indeed the most famous place in Kyoto for mame mochi. And so fucking delicious.

The lengths to which KyoAni will go to achieve accuracy continue to blow me away. Also this:

ScreenShot2013-04-15at85111PM_zpsb09937f2.png

I spent a year of my life hanging out with friends at this exact spot back when I used to live near Kyoto. It's all the way at the end of Kawaramachi, past Shijou. And the shopping arcade in the show reminds me of the one near my old home in kansai: all the people who had shops there were super close, and I used to chat with them all the time before and after school. I can't even begin to count how much free stuff I got from those lovely folks.

I'm honestly loving it thus far. It's nice and relaxed, and I adore the cast. Ugh. Fucking KyoAni.

EDIT: My friend just tweeted to me after I sent her the above pic:

basically everyone that lives in Northeast Kyoto has been freaking out.

Hahaha.

Well, it IS animated by a pretty legendary studio, after all.

If we ever get an updated DTL list I hope I can make it in this time. I don't even care who I end up with for I am a slut.

At some point in the future we should have a "say one nice thing that isn't a backhanded compliment (or a stealth insult against another show) about a show you otherwise dislike" day.

Hyouka has the best school festival arc ever.

Ritsu is the best K-On.

A handful of Nichijou's skits are legit hilarious.

Good OP. Great ED

Fixed.

.

KyoAni: plagiarizing life.

I love those peripheral details about their work, so its always nice to hear a little more about it. Love it!

By the end of this week, we can finally have a real discussion fight to the death about which are the best OP/EDs this season. I think the only ED yet to air is... the Valvrave ED?

Toradora 22

This is the Toradora I come for. Just teenagers wallowing in their own misery while pretending they're happy. Good times.

I wonder if the characters can solve their problems without the help of improbable and dramatic outside events.

Top OP for this season for me is Valvrave OP and Shingeki No Kyojin OP.

Nothing beats T.M.Revolution x Mizuki Nana. I hope those two will do more collaborations in the future.

It's Muromi's; by far. Runner up is Titan's; third place goes to the new Driland show.

Attack on titan ED and OP better be in everyone TOP 3 lists or else ......

I don't really like Yuru Yuri that much, but I have to admit their uniforms are pretty unique.
I have to admit that their uniforms are easy to remember when you see them in cross overs ...

Yuru Yuri X SAO cross over :)

Nanoha StrikerS 26 (END - Rewatch)

This was a much needed rewatch that gave me a renewed perspective on a show that I both sort of like despite its many, MANY flaws but absolutely dislike for what it did to a great series that is also one of my favorites of all time. StrikerS just lacks the soul Nanoha once had, the soul that involves cute girls shooting deadly magical beams at each other for the sake of friendship and saving the universe. But instead we get a show that looks like it got half the budget A's had spread across twice as many episodes, a new cast of main/support characters that besides Subaru and Tiana I couldn't care any less about, familiar faces who largely lack the personalities that made them endearing (Nanoha, Fate), training episodes that almost never felt like it progressed the story or made the characters who were training stronger, some incredibly lame fight scenes that would make young Nanoha cry herself to sleep, and pretty much everything else that made this show so very un Nanoha.

As an action show, StrikerS is at least decent. I'll be the first to say that I LOVE the last few episodes, as it has the vast majority of the good action scenes contained within it and Nanoha and Fate returned to being the badasses I know they can be. I just wish this really wasn't a sequel to something as perfect as Nanoha A's, whose only real problem was setting the bar for the next thing in the series incredibly high. Right now the only thing that can bring me hope is the Movie 3rd, as I doubt Seven Arcs is going to make a new TV series anytime soon.

The show really does end pretty strong. Really love that the only way to save the girl is by nuking her :3

Parental love at it's finest.

Tomodachi wa Mahou
Are we talking about the TWGOK anime or manga here because if it's the later then I find that very hard to believe.

I was talking about the anime.

I hear the manga is pretty good but I don't read manga so I wouldn't know. The anime wasn't whatever the manga is hyped up to be thats for sure.

As someone who took pride in how I looked at school the way boys knot their ties in anime annoy me. Also untucked shirts at school? How sickening.

This is what keeps me going. The show is not funny at all but its still a treat to watch given the adorable dynamics between Muromi and the MC. And its hard for it to overstay its welcome when each ep is only like 12 mins long.

Also that OP is glorious. Best of the season (of the shows I've watched)

BGBW

Maturity, bitches.
Is OreImo doing the different-ED-every-episode thing again?
I assume so because the ED of this week's episode was pretty half arsed if it was meant to be a permanent one.

But what can you expect from a Vita ad that doesn't even advertise a real (ho ho) Vita game.

I pretty sure we never did get the results to the best OP/ED of 2012 poll.

I'm going to assume it was Polar Bear Cafe and leave it at that.
