Don't worry, the show practically retcons itself out of existance in the final episode. Kind of like Eureka Seven AO!

It still has that awful shot in the ending of
Misaki, Golgo, and Flying-Squirrel Mao(ugh) hinting at their future buddy-cop adventures.

Another good thing, this gif wouldn't be possible without the 2nd season.

The second season soured me so much on the franchise that I never did watch the OVAs. Are they legit worth it?

Much more in line with the first season. At the end it does get wonky because it has to tie into the shit in the second season but has some relatively good action sequences.

Speaking of HAREM ANIME, again... the DtB franchise is clearly harem. Just look at the many love interests of Hei:

Almost everyone in this picture is dead.

Suou = Yin > Indian Lady > hair down, no lipstick Misaki > CC > Hei's imouto > Havoc > Pink detective > fire schoolgirl > normal Misaki > that lady in the first arc

Second season did have the lesbian woman who could turn things into lightsabers, her lover with the big boobs, and Tanya. Attractive girls in an awful show.

Flowers of Evil 2

Pretty frustrating episode, the easy route would have so much trouble and not dragged out something so simple over 20+ minutes, ugh, Kasuga why. Worst yet the music tries to hype up events to make them feel like something major is happening and then what...nothing.

Nakumura is easily winning the award for best character in an ungood anime this season
So glad someone in this is taking initiative and moving things forward and has a good mind on their shoulders, the whole arranging event for Kasuga there and pushing him figuratively and literally to do things and even adding some suspense to him

Zettai karen children parody ?
Hum so that's what they did ... they picked individual characters from the manga focusing on one heroine and decided to mix them as stand alone stories ...

No big plot , no arc , just character building and sometimes comedy ..

Well it's better than nothing i guess.

[Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal] - 1

Holy shit this melted my faceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Wait, you haven't seen this until now?

[Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal] - Final

Thanks for that, Studio Deen.

Not to besmirch the good name of anime fans but it's quite often the case that when they recommend or hype an older work it doesn't quite live up to the expectations that they set. This is not one of those cases. This was truly excellent and deserves the canonization that it has received.

I'm glad the director is still working today, even if he is stuck making Gundam Unciorn.

But he made Reflections. He should burn.

The Flowers of Evil 2

God damn they way they use the music to build tension in this show is incredible. The low hums and droning drums serve to make you incredibly uncomfortable as the camera lingers on a scene. So far I say they are doing a fantastic job with this adaptation.

RurouniZel

Asks questions so Ezalc doesn't have to
Gargantua 02:

I'm much preferring this version of Waterworld than the original.

OP and ED of the season in my opinion too. :)

It's fairly major for Kasuga. The smallest thing is an extremely big deal because he goes to middle school. I remember being his age, and the dumbest and smallest of stuff freaking me the fuck out.

ARATA KANGATARI - 02

Story continues to unfold with some delicious moments in between.

I'm intrested in the world building they will do (especially since they haven't let the regular world side go ).

Depending on where they go in term of story it can go either:
excellent , generic or crap.

So far it's above generic. If we do get some answers at the start of the episode 3 the MC attitude wll change how i will view this anime.

Detective Conan: Strategy Above the Depths

I had high hopes for this one because of the classic closed-circle setup, a cruise ship at sea. While this really wasn't taken advantage of to its full potential, I can't quite say I was disappointed, since the movie was still above average overall.

The only thing that really disappointed me was how simple it was to solve. Most of the time, Conan uses a black manequin-esque figure to hide the criminal's identity when they show you the crime, but in this film, they just lay it out plain and simple.
Half of it, anyway - the writer guy is plain to see. The lady's face is also shown, but only for two brief moments while partialy concealed, so I suppose that was supposed to be the twist.
Still, even when 'I can already see the ending', I enjoy watching a well-executed scheme, so it wasn't a deal-breaker.

The most standout positive thing in the movie was that Kogorou got to be badass for once. Not only physically, but with an actually correct deduction! Until now, I was kind of wondering how he stayed in business before Conan came, but I guess he's not fully incompetent after all.

Overall, it was definitely not as good as the Magic Kaito movie I just watched, but plenty better than the overly Japanese one before that. Verdict is a healthy 6/10, I think. Anyway, the fact that I don't feel like slowing pace with these movies shows they must be doing something right.

Tragic victim of fan death
I might try to make the next AnimeGAF survey later this week, focusing on thread reading and posting habits. I have a few question ideas from the last survey, along with some of my own, but any further input would be appreciated.

Cool. Anything to make the thread less toxic. I feel like it's gotten somewhat toxic over the past few months/weeks.

He has too much baudelaire on his mind and is overthinking things which everyone else in the anime doesnt seem to be
seaki liked moved on fast from the incident of having her clothes taken, for example

Hm. Looks like I gotta jump back in then. Season 2 was just so catastrophically awful that I... I... ='(

Well Suoh doesn't join the game till atleast midseason and I'm not even sure what to make of Yin.

Yin is the One True Pairing, Canonical, Waifu. Confirmed in every ending of every iteration of the DtB franchise. OVA, S2, Manga, etc.

The DtB verse is actually a lot like Fast and the Furious - you know that at some point Tokyo Drift/Season Two must happen, but until then, you can have Han/Yin in as many spinoffs as you want. I hope they take advantage of that. Jet-Black Flower would make for a good season or two of anime, with an actual ending (a rarity for Bones!).
