famitsu mentioned Vita and psp as additional platforms in their article. For Japan at least.

Another source from 4gamer regarding PSP/PSV version. Maybe Famitsu was correct on that?

EA SPORTS FIFA 14 Captures the Emotion of Scoring Great Goals

Innovations Inspire Midfield Build Up And Rewarding Finishing

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) today unveiled innovations to the greatest sports game on the planet that will enable fans to experience the emotion of scoring great goals when playing EA SPORTS™ FIFA 14 on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system and PC.

Innovations to the franchise’s award-winning* gameplay will make FIFA 14 the complete matchday experience, introducing features that inspire fans to build play through midfield, dictate the tempo of a match and create rewarding opportunities. Great matches are achieved through measured build up and incredible finishing. A new feature in FIFA 14 called Pure Shot and a brand-new ball physics system will transform shooting, making every shot attempt feel real, and when players connect with the perfect strike, feel exhilarating.

“FIFA 14 will play the way great matches are contested with build up through midfield, tension throughout the match as chances are created, and incredible finishing,” said David Rutter, Executive Producer for FIFA 14. “Opportunities in FIFA 14 will be rewarding and great goals will look stunning.”

Finishing has been transformed with Pure Shot so players have the intelligence to adjust their stride and approach angle to find the best position for hitting the back of the net. Well-hit balls feel more exhilarating and rewarding. New shot types include pure strikes, as well as off-balance and rushed shots. Plus, Real Ball Physics now determines the trajectories of balls, enabling players to kick the ball with force from distance, drill low rising shots with accuracy, and blast dipping or turbulent shots, just like real players.

Fans will be able to create rewarding build up to opportunities and have the tools to dictate the tempo of a match through four new features. Protect The Ball will enable players to fend-off and block defenders from the ball while dribbling at any speed, or out-muscle opponents for position before receiving the pass, then turn defenders to carve out opportunities. Teammate Intelligence has been improved on both sides of the ball. New decision-making logic delivers tighter, smarter marking and improved run tracking where defenders recognize opportunities to provide support and win back possession, while attacking players have new ways to outsmart their opponents by creating space for themselves, running along the backline and checking their pace. Major changes to ball control add new tools to win the midfield battles. Sprint Dribble Turns enable players to turn in every direction at sprint speed while preserving momentum, delivering the control and confidence to take on defenders one-on-one. Variable Dribble Touches introduces variety on touches when sprinting. Skilled players will have better touch and more control when sprinting with the ball.

In addition to innovations to gameplay, FIFA 14 is introducing a game-changing new way to play Career Mode. The Global Scouting Network brings the world of professional scouting to life. Players now develop and refine a scouting network and search for talent year-round. Scouts can evaluate players all over the world to uncover the attributes and traits of every player in the game, in preparation for the transfer windows. Plus, a new hub delivers easy navigation, fewer interruptions and live scouting reports.

FIFA 14 will deliver engaging online** features and live services that connect fans to the heartbeat of the sport—and to each other—through EA SPORTS Football Club, making FIFA 14 soccer's social network, where fans connect, compete and share with millions of others around the world. The game will also feature:

Changes to the wildly popular FIFA Ultimate Team
A new online Mode that will encourage social competition
Multiple new features and benefits to EA SPORTS Football Club, the live service that is the heartbeat of FIFA
Complete authenticity with more than 500 officially licensed clubs.

FIFA 14 is in development at EA Canada and will be available in stores world-wide this fall. Additional platforms will be revealed in the months ahead. The game has not yet been rated.

Yup. I'm ready for next gen FIFA!

I'm expecting the next gen version to be just a port of the 360/PS3 version but with slightly better graphics and a few more features here and there.

I'm expecting the same for basically all early sports games for next gen to be honest.

Hoping for a vita version too and hope it's not just fifa football with updated squads..

So fun to play on the vita IMO.

Don't the "next-gen" (as in the first of a console) FIFAs usually lack most of the features of that year release?

yeaaahbuuddddyyyyyy

I should really get round to throwing my old FIFA games out. I seem to let them build up each year.

As long as they keep improving the series, ill keep buying it.

Hope we see some sort of beefed up PS4 or at least PC version, a big visual upgrade is all i want right now

will the PC version get gimped if they move onto next gen, that is the question.

it took em years to achieve parity this gen. i think we'll be safe for another year

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
It'll be PS3 / 360 information only. Possibly PC, no handheld / Wii U versions.

Yeah, they'll probably concentrate all their news for PS360 SKUs, with maybe a little mention of next gen versions, that will be shown later as well as Wii U and portable editions.

People are seriously clinging to this even after Madden and NHL announcements?

Do you think FIFA will come just to PS360 and not to other consoles? The EA Sports game that have always been launched on the biggest amount of platforms compared to others?

I doubt I'll buy the new consoles at launch so I think I'll be getting the 360 version one more time. Looking forward to it.. definitely room for improvement though.

Have to figure out a way to fix the issue with the back four being able to consistently catch up or outrun an attacker, need to tone down the screening and the absolute inability to separate from a player once he is screening you, need to do something about the shorties in Clubs, tone down the over the top tweak to the finesse shot and chip shot, tone down the still problematic first touch..

I had faith that my local league will be playable this year, on a local event that EA made here, they said that there will be ''good news'' for the chilean market

Now, if the thing is just alexis sanchez on the cover I think that I will just pass

Please let them include more African teams this time, specifically Nigeria.

We are Afcon champions, im tired of having to wait for the PC community (How i love you guys) to create national team patches to add in teams that you would expect to be in a game like FIFA.

I can understand smaller or less prominent teams but come on no Nigeria as one of the African teams is just ugh -_-

EDIT: Ghana as well, if South Africa and Egypt manage to make it then there is no reason to not include Nigeria and Ghana who have both performed significantly better than them in recent times.

If there is a confirmed next gen version I'll probably wait the extra month to get it. Won't be easy since I usually grab FIFA on day one.

That would be quite sad.... They did a fantastic job with the gamepad integration. Just drop the dumb shooting mechanics, and adding a extra screen for drawing-in the strategies to be follow in the pitch, and we should have the definitive version.

Seriously guys, if there's no Wii U version, Nintendo should start thinking about abandoning the home console market :lol You can't have an home console without FIFA, you just can't. You can have a portable console without FIFA (see: DS till 2009), though (even if I don't see problems in FIFA 14 coming to both 3DS and Vita at all...not even on Wii U, but still...).

Hmm,... really? Who cares?

I just don't understand what motivates people to buy every "new" EA Sports game, I mean obviously there is nothing completely new that could justify a new number in the game title. For god's sake, whyyyyyyyyy?!

I really hope we don't get the same garbage efforts we got in 2005 when EA launched both Madden and NBA Live on the 360. Those games were complete garbage compared to the lower gen versions released at the same time.

I hope they work on the menu speed. It takes too fucking long to get to a match.

It's so much better on PC. I can't ever go back to the console versions after playing 13 on a SSD.
