Trailer was quite meh in my opinion, also compared with the teaser. Still have hopes for it turning out enjoyable though, I always enjoy Joss Whedon stuff, but I might get tired of it.

Maria Hill/Cobie is totally questioning Agent Ward so that at least confirms our first crossover character. :)

i would hate to start watching this then it gets canned after one season :(

i have been duped too many times!

I am pretty sure ABC has a vested interest in one of their parent company's products succeeding. If it is not a complete and utter failure it won't get cancelled after one season. Or three.

The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!

oh whedon.

Yeah it makes sense that they'd be using a lesser known character like Rage over Luke Cage for this TV series. I bet that will be the norm for this show, which is fine by me. They're probably saving even C tier heroes for movies or for their own shows.

Plus Whedon can kill them off without remorse and without pissing off corporate.

The woman in the van acts really similar to Eliza Dushku. I almost thought it was her.

One thing I don't like is the "nerd-team". They are such a Whedon trope. You can already see Fred, Topher etc in them.

When did Coulson become a fan favorite?

I remember up until Thor people were sort of "iffy" on him, thinking he was kind of an awkward way to bridge the movies. Then Avengers was coming out and there was fan art and shit.

Of course they'd have to cast young(ish) (with a few exceptions).

It looks good to me. I'm excited. Loved the part with Coulson introducing himself.

Coulson is a fan-favorite I think because:

1. He's in his 40's- an age lots of us comic readers are in these days
2. He comes off as Joe-6-pack.

That actually looks kind of shitty. But then again, outside of Firefly, I'm not really a fan of any of his television work.

At first glance I'm not liking the casting besides, obviously, Greg Clark.

It's quick to judge, but at first glance everybody else seems to have the charisma of a wet noodle.

And not the cool kind of wet blanket like Coulson. Just plain soggy.

Edit: Ok, outside of Gunn I mean. Just talking about Coulson's team and the Perky Hacker Girl.

coulson sucks in all the movies but yeah i dunno how or why but all of a sudden he got pretty popular in the gap between thor and avengers.

Really? I thought he was well-liked in Iron Man already. He was understated and kind of funny because of it.

BTW: Eventually we need S.W.O.R.D

It looks great, but as I said in the other thread...it also looks CG heavy and with it being on ABC, I worry about how good said effects will look a few episodes into the season/season 2.

Coulson was great in iron Man, very witty and understated role. Then he was just kind of... there. And even when he died he's still there.

The show's ongoing budget may depend on the numbers it pulls in. They could be hoping it will enjoy the reflected glory of The Avengers and gain the numbers to pull in Dat Marvel Mad Money.

If it only does "okay" it may get a season 2 but at a greatly reduced budget.

Coulson was fairly popular by the end of Iron Man 2 and people were actively dreading the chance of him dying leading up to the Avengers. All of you saying otherwise are serious revisionists.

how did the arrow teaser look though?

because that show ended up being one of the most enjoyable series on tv currently.

edit: who am I kidding, this looks far worse.

When he treated Tony to tass him and then watch Supernanny while he drooled on the floor. Then along came Thor and the legend of The Son of Coul came to life

For me it was when he dropped that acronym bomb at the end of the first movie. Mind blown.

I thought Loki killed him? Did they explain how he is still alive?
Isn't that part of the reason to watch the TV show? No doubt the first episode will give us insight into how he's back. There's even a scene in the trailer where someone questions his being dead and he says "Welcome to Level 7". Whatever that means.

Yeah, I watched the Once Upon a Time finale the other day to catch the first promo and the special effects were shocking.
