Let me clarify, I have currently two contacts on Gtalk for Android (I see them through Gmail). If this was a unified messaging system I should be able to message them through the Hangout Chrome App on my desktop. They are not showing up at all.

Yes, I know.

They are showing up in the Hangouts Chrome app for me.

Larry is inspiring, but...

"Everything's amazing, but I'm also sad that things aren't awesome sometimes."

That's what I'm taking away from it. It's like he had hoped the companies that have the resources to do what Google does would , well, do what Google does and commit a large share of it to hardcore and experimental research and development. Imagine the race that would ensue if there were 5 or 6 Google-like entities going at it.

That S4, while nice is too fucking expensive. I'm not looking to drop $700 bucks on a unlocked phone after I've been spending $299 and $399. I really hope this is not taking the place of the 4.

I just wish I didn't have Verizon. I gotta hope that if there is an XFON it's on Verizon and runs stock

Uh, Gtalk is integrated. It's replacing Gtalk.

I have it running on Windows (chrome app) and iOS and see all my Gtalk contacts.

Then the Google Gods have forsaken me. No Gtalk contacts are showing up on the Chrome app, just all my previous Messenger+ convos.

Sticking with Gtalk on Gmail for now.

Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling? Also try logging out of Google+ and Gmail and signing back in.

It looks like it's going to be an update to Talk, but hasn't rolled out yet.

The video showed it was its own app called "hangouts"
Yeah, and it completely replaces talk. Talk won't be an app anymore I think.

If you search the app store on your phone, go to a Google app and look at more apps by google. It's there, but you can't download it yet.

Some of these questions are just from posers that just want to ask a question... "just because".

Larry, if the sky was green and you could make it blue - would you make it blue if you could do it sustainably?

There's no way Samsung is going to undercut the no-contract price of their normal S4s. Never mind the fact that it would cost them revenue, carriers would probably be livid.

WTF. I can't find Hangouts in the App Store on my iPhone. I can on iTunes on my computer. I downloaded it on my computer, but it doesn't show up in my 'Purchased' tab on my iPhone, I literally cannot get this app onto my phone. WTF? I have never had this problem before.

(I can't sync my iPhone to get the app because it's a new computer and it won't sync to my phone without erasing everything)

As long as they end up adding SMS integration to Hangouts I will be ecstatic.

Not holding my breath. There was no real talk of that part of it. Or changes to Google Voice (or improvements to that service).

There was no mention of voice chat for Hangouts either. I was hoping for voice chat, to make free wifi calls essentially when traveling.
