Hope it's got some kind of co-op horde mode. Favorite part of UC2/3's MP.

What would be the point of that? You have a single-player campaign that emphasizes survival and item-management and then do a 180 by using an overused 3rd person multiplayer trope which trivializes their effort being far away from Uncharted as possible . This is why I hate multiplayer this gen, it's so over-saturated to the point they're pretty much the same game under a different skin.

lol its like if a game has good graphics is suddenly said that people only like it for the graphics.

Imagine this for MP:

16 players in massive city. Objective survive: you can explore the city for items which will be randomly spawned in different buildings, rooms, furniture etc. and when confronted with other players you could either team up or kill them for loot. Kinda like Day Z. Night comes and tickers come out. Last man standing after the ticker assault wins.

I seriously doubt the engine is capable of running open world scenarios on a console, especially not in multiplayer. It would definitely be interesting, but it'll most likely not be open world or semi open world.

Game designer Ricky Cambier in the latest Playstation Blogcast:

What I can tell you right now is that, take all these things we’ve been talking about – this pressure to survive, this high lethality, this limited resources, this crafting, these upgrades – and now go head-to-head with somebody else. So that spirit that we’ve captured in the single player, you’re gonna feel it, you’re gonna really feel that in the multiplayer. And that’s really all I can say right now.

Holy shit. That sounds amazing.

It sounds like the unique mechanics of TLoU adding flavor to a traditional multiplayer.

Which would probably be cool, but not the greatest mp ever conceived.

Because better MP has been conceived (look no further than Chromehounds, or DayZ) but never had the gameplay to really take full advantage of the genius MP design. TLoU has this really unique and solid gameplay that could fit into any framework and immediately make it pretty cool. So even traditional MP would be cool. But better things have been conceived than traditional multiplayer, no matter how solid its mechanics.

Oh god, this game man. I need it so bad.

I have a good feeling that; 1. Naughty Dog could deliever on some REALLY interesting multiplayer 2. The Last of Us would reaaally cater to some intense unique multiplayer.

Man, I can't wait! It could be so intense, I hope it's really slow and methodical. My favorite MP experiences have been, Splinter Cell, Metal Gear Online (in CONCEPT only) and COD4 when you have the Ninja perks and it is 1v1 relying on your senses (SO GOOD!).

A MP game that rewards patience, stealth and timing would be glorious. Imagine stalking one another in a warehouse, listening to each others breath, standing silent and hearing someone running past the door. Then you run up behind him take him hostage and search for his buddy... I'd love this

Oh fuck, I'm so hard right now.

Oh fuck, I'm so hard right now.

I'm and old school Ghost Recon player. GR classic. And very little over the years has scratched that itch (mostly methodical and tactical movements, cerebral, punctuated by acute moments of intense action). I have this weird feeling TLoU might offer this in its own way, that has me very optimistic about MP.

I think they're going for a DayZ type of multiplayer, which would be awesome.

They might be. But likely aren't. This gets filed under "unrealistic expectations". No matter how amazing that would be.

It's kind of amusing to hear talk of season passes before you even see any multiplayer footage. I think it's bad enough that we're asked to pay for future content, sight unseen... now this is taking it to an entirely new level of wtf.

This post is mostly in jest, mostly.
