It's really too bad I hate the dualshock and love the perfect Xbox pad. Because at this point, I'd rather buy a PS4 than XB1.
I want high end graphics and I will get them. Either PC or PS4. As someone who has primarily been a supporter of N/MS (although I do have a PS3 too), this generation is shaping up to be the worst yet. And that's saying something, with the Gamecube and Wii games drought.

From info I could find PS4 can do 557, no idea what that means compared to each other though.

iirc there were gamepads made that emulated the look and feel of the 360 pad that worked on PS3... I'm sure the same will be true of PS4.

To be quite honest, I didn't see anything from what they showed that can't be done on the Wii U graphically, unless we're talking theoretically based on it's specs?
I dont think being the midleground console is going to really hurt them. Its still going to have beatifull games that are several steps up from xbox360 and way more powerfull than Wii U. Then there is diminishing returns. I dont think the general consumer are going to care that PS4 games looks better.
There's no either or, PC is going to be waaay ahead on PS4's release date.

Can't wait to upgrade my GPU with the money I would have spent on PS4 or Xbox One. It just seems more prudent now.

Exactly what I am doing, I nearly bought one recently but decided to wait and see.
Now they're really both behind of there is no point in them. I shall wait for the next cards though first so get it later this year.

I don't doubt their ability to money hat, but why would they do so to be lead platform for a cross-platform game? I can see money-hatting for exclusive content, exclusive DLC, or entire games exclusive to Xbox One, but not money-hatting for lead platform. What would be the benefit?

I hope this (comparatively) weaker hard gets priced accordingly then. The Call of Duty: Ghosts trailer looked visually average. Battlefield 4 absolutely destroys it. Forza 5 looked great but then again Forza 4 looked excellent on the 360 so it would have hard to make it look worse. They could have taken Forza 4 and made it 1080p at 60fps with good AA and it would have been impressive.

I don't. I had hoped since before the PS4 was unveiled that the two consoles would be a little bit conservative as far as power goes, focusing on innovative features and ease of development rather than trying to cram in bunches of expensive tech. It's quite expensive to turn a new IP into a definitive success these days, and games cost too much to develop and advertise as it is. I feel like we're in for a whole 'nother generation of me-too titles and sequels to said titles if and when visuals become the priority again.

Power is not going to make PS4 the top console (sales wise). Folks need to seriously stop perpetuating that myth.

In large part, yes. But Sony built the PS4's architecture from the ground up with the help of developers, making it tailor-made for efficient game development. The days of horror while developing for PS3 are almost over.
Yeah, I am willing to bet that all of this 'snap n' grab' gimmickry will be a glitchy train wreck. I don't want Kinect, so don't force it on me. It should remain an add-on for those who like that sort of thing.
