Now you're talking. Collecting LD's actually makes sense because you at least have some beautiful artwork to show for it. For example, consider these Kimagurage Orange Road LD's:

Exactly. Those are gorgeous. There's a fair bit of nostalgia factor with LDs for me too. From what I've seen on Ebay, they typically don't break the bank in terms of price, with the caveat being that they're mostly Japanese releases. I somehow doubt you would be buying them for viewing anyway. Sort of in the same way one would buy singles of old comics. It's a collectors disease.

You're telling me Regulus Tera wouldn't be interested in this beauty?

That's one of the best choices of series for the audience I could possibly imagine. It's like .hack//, which they like, except worse-written and more exciting!

I can't wait to see a whole new wave of kids react to
incest double-jeopardy

The final(?) episode to be dedicated to Shining Yayoi

Probably should mention that they're getting
their power up single finisher here, although it bothers me that despite getting these upgrades, they're still incapable of completely finishing off a Hyper Akanbe. Shining Forms apparently are only enough to be able to stand up against one up until you use your super

Anyway, it was like one big reminder that Yayoi is a crybaby, an aspect that isn't very exploited much, so it felt more of a reminder episode basically. I didn't actually feel quite as strongly on this episode in comparison to Akane. I don't recall if it was ever said why Yayoi is called Cure Peace, but I think this was pretty much the reason why.

I'm feeling a cocktail of emotions. It will do well on Toonami, ToonamiGAF will hate it, I hate it, and I'm proud of Toonami for being able to get a relatively new series. Oooh boy.

In other panel news via the above link, they confirmed the leaked SAO BD/DVD plans (though made no mention of the prices) and also announced they're bringing over those Blue Exorcist bilingual BDs that were also announced for the UK recently, though they'll be in two sets instead of one complete collection.

Not surprised at all, apples to apples, etc.

EDIT: I'm currently in an critical studies course examining Independent Film in America, and I was curious... Do any of you know of some good anime that could be considered "independent?" The Dallos OVA and DAICON IV were about the only things I could really think of as qualifying off the top of my head, but even those might be way off.

Are we defining independent animation as animation created by principally one person outside the studio framework? If so, there are a couple independent animators out there. Koji Yamamura (Mt. Head, A Country Doctor) is the one who leaps most immediately to mind. There's also people who started as independent animators and then founded their own studios to produce their work, such as Makoto Shinkai and Yasuhiro Yoshiura. I'm not an expert in the field of independent animation, but this page, covering some recent notable works in the field, seems like a decent place to start getting some ideas for further investigation.

Best con 2013. Aniplex is taking all my money this summer. Both BLue Exorcist sets (finally), and then the four SAO sets.

I hope Blast of Tempest gets SAO treatment, and Magi the BLue Exorcist treatment.

Golden Seven, huh? I guess that means that we're not just missing Valvrave II, but VII as well.

Evolving OP! Saki now shows up alongside IV in the montage.

L-Elf is such a boss.

Wonder if they'll try tossing Aina in a Valvrave to bring her back to life.

Oh, one more small thing from ANN's writeup of the Aniplex panel: during the Q&A, one answer was that AoA "could not say if Fate/Zero will get a home video release with an English dub". Not sure if it's one of those "no plans at the moment" sort of answers, or if they just haven't finalized the details yet.

That should have been obvious since.
The VVV are meant to mirror the colours of the rainbow. VVV red is VVV 1 and also the first colour int he rainbow. VVV green is VVV 4 and also the 4th leter in the rainbow and so on.

I feel like I should be watching Fate/Zero, but I keep seeing people say to watch stay night first even though it's a prequel. Which one should I watch first?

Don't use the MSRP, that's too misleading... at least use the $140 price they'll actually be sold at. (DVD box sets are $70 each, for those wondering, though they pretty much have no physical bonuses.)

New Toonami is dead to me.

Shining Nao

Those aren't onions. Those aren't onions at all. It's all about Nao and her family, coming along with a new kid named Yui. She often uses her big sister role pretty well, with the previous example being from when they became kids again.

Majorina goes even further than Wolfrun or Red Demon. She attempts to kill Nao's family. That's pretty dark man. Even have some Reaction
to go with it. It's like... the lightest of the Precures, but it has those faces. It's weird.

This otherwise is a showmanship of family bonds, and it would be nice to come across more of these types of families.
