I don't know if it's been said already, but I'll reiterate here:

You should be messaging the key stakeholders at the 3rd party publishers. That's where this DRM push is coming from.

Sony is receiving your messages loud and clear, btw. Whoever said not to bother reaching out on Twitter is very, very wrong.
Thanks. Will continue to push this.

Pinging corporate Twitter accounts (THQ? uh....) is not an effective use of your time.

If you want to get things done, reach out to the people who actually make the decisions. If they're not on Twitter, then move down the list and cross-reference against the app unti you find someone who is on Twitter and message them.

Publicly owned corporations have tons of freely available information about governance. It just takes a bit of elbow grease., but the results may pay off. At the very least, you're speaking with those who are in a position to effect change.

Thanks for the help, Bish!

No respect left for PA, especially with Kuchera running their editorial section and the podcast Kickstarter.

I stopped reading them regularly when their comic quality dropped the fuck off a cliff, and Gabe's posts became shillshillshillshillshill. But seeing Tycho agree with Kuchera's "opinion" piece in a recent blog post means I'm not going there at all now.

Someone said recently, possibly a GAFfer, that they are "the video game industry's Green Day". I couldn't agree more.

From Troy Baker:

@Stuart444 read, but can't support, man.I'm not saying that DRM is THE solution, but it's a step in the right direction. #SupportDevs&BuyNew

Twitter is far too limited for a proper discussion so I just thanked Troy for reading it and left it at that.

I tweeted Randy Pitchford. May not be the best guy to go at but he is the head of a big studio and in touch with the head guys at 2k.

If it wasn't for used game I would have never bought 2x borderlands goty (new) and 2x borderlands 2 CE (new) & DLC @duvalmagic #PS4usedgames

Tweet devs/publishers about times used games/borrowed games got you to buy their games new.

And people please be smart about fake twitter accounts. (most of these people will not have twitter, but there are many fake accounts in their names)

You're definitely going to get a mixed result from creatives. They are firmly entrenched in the "developers deserve their cut" mentality (which is perfectly reasonable) and would love no used games. Best to focus on business types.

Oh, I know. I kind of expected it. Just hard to see is all.

I would think our most direct line of communication to third parties is the media picking up stories about this. I'm not sure what else we can do.

Certainly open to ideas though.

Indeed. Thing is, if more of that money actually went to the developer instead of the publisher, I could understand that outlook better.

Don't they get their cut, from the original sale of the game? Like how Taylormade gets a cut when I buy one of their drivers? But when I sell it on ebay they dont' get a *second* cut of the driver that I already paid them for?

So do they (developers) deserve a *second* cut, really? I don't think this is a perfectly reasonable position at all.

I do think Gamespot sucks, because they have become the easiest way for us to sell our games and they're making billions off us, and selling our trade ins back to us at near new prices..... but we're using that credit to buy new games most of the time anyways, so doesn't the developers kind of still win?
