Had a few minutes to myself, started brainstorming some simple logo ideas for tags, avatars and the like. one is for DRM, one is for used games.

welcome any suggestions for edits. color scheme was holdover from my dev kit stuff (don't ask ;-) )

Awesome. Love them.

I'm off to bed soon, I really need to find a European gaffer to take over website updates/maintenance while I sleep, lest we lose momentum. Please PM me if you're up to it or know someone who is. I'll stay up until I pass the baton.

I don't want to derail the thread or anything, but every time i see the DS4 I keep hoping they sell an accessory or something to make the analog sticks convex again. I know this probably isn't popular opinion but I never really liked concave analog sticks.

I used to prefer convex long ago. Now I'm in love with concave.

I see some doubt about using Japanese voice actors, but wasn't part of the effort, trying to reach people in or around the industry that have a ton of followers. Voice actors and actresses are a pretty big deal to a lot of Japanese gamers and anime fans. If you can get a reply or comment from someone, wouldn't their followers also be curious to see who they're talking to, or about what?

I just noticed this comment on Baller's site and I'm pretty sure it was a reply to my post from a few hours ago about tweeting the BlazBlue producer and some Japanese VAs. I'm just gonna post it here since it's obvious they were lurking the thread.

I wasn't trying to tell people to not tweet them (though I still think tweeting a dev is a waste of time), I'm just not sure if they would want to say anything. Since they are doing voice work for games they probably have some sort of relationship with the dev teams and tweeting #PS4NoDRM could potentially harm that relationship. I'm not sure if anyone on the creative side of things is in a position to jump on this train honestly.

Yeah, understandable. He has a point about @famitsu though. So obvious, lol.

I don't think anyone's really expecting to have a lot of active support from developers, voice actors, or people that get paychecks from development costs. I think the goal is ultimately to spread awareness of a growing concern amongst gamers that they may not have even really considered.

Got a tagline? I left it blank. I welcome any suggestions for edits. Color scheme was holdover from my dev kit stuff (don't ask ;-) ) so it's not integral (IE, it can be changed)[/QUOTE]
Love them, especially the first two!

These are nice.

I just sent a tweet to @famitsu asking to help us spread the word in Japan. It's only one tweet, and I don't know a lick of japanese, but maybe if more people do it like Heath Bunch said on Baller's site they'll take some notice.

Did the same. Hopefully if enough people tweet them, they'll check it out for themselves.

Well I'm headed off to bed. Seems the tweets have died down somewhat.

Anyone looking for a PS3 to tide them over, Newegg has a crazy deal going on.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1307658

It's glitched? or something. 6 games total and a $50 psn card for $312. Games: Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Burnout Paradise, Grand Theft Auto IV Complete, and Max Payne 3. Also included (when you add it to cart) Bioshock Infinite and a $50 gift card.

Have a good night everyone, hopefully Euro's can keep it alive.#ps4nodrm!

This is probably a really obscure reference, but this topic reminds me a lot of that site started by an ign forum member.. The one to convince Nintendo to get HD output out of the Wii before it released.

Hopefully this fares better for all our sake.

I'm gonna quote Heath Bunch's last few posts on Baller's site since I'm not sure how many people are seeing them on there:

Heath Bunch said:
If targeting creatives doesn't sound like a good idea, then how about @famitsu? They might get curious about this if they see enough tweets about it come their way.

Heath Bunch said:
Another to give a try might be @nikkeionline. But thats enough out of me for a while. Good luck rest of the world. Keep fighting the good fight.

Heath Bunch said:
Haha, sorry, one more thing that might help when tweeting news sites like Famitsu or Nikkei would be linking them to the various articles in English that have been popping up so that we all don't sound like a bunch of crackpots.

I screwed up when I tweeted famitsu since I didn't link to any articles so hopefully if anyone else wants to try and reach Japan they'll follow this advice.

How do you guys feel about changing the site template to better blend with the logo?

This:

vs.

???

I like the second one more actually, the one its at now. Its easier on the eyes, and for some reason the 1st one seems more amateurish.

I love the logo though.

I liked the grey bar.
Maybe make that lighter so you can see the controller , keep the bar, and change color of black PS4 font in the picture.

Not sure.

Okie dokie. I wish I had some Photoshops skills to make the logo useable on the current template. I can make the text white, but the black controller just doesn't work (which sucks because that's the coolest part).

You could try adding a border on the logo maybe? I'm no Photoshop artist either.

So I read on one of my frequented tech sites that the #PS4NoDRM campaign is a success.

If that's true. I'm very happy, but did Sony Reps recently clarify everything and why am I hearing about this on non-gaming sites?

What do you guys think of this? PlayStation font too difficult to read?

Awesome.

I think the controller image is beautiful. It should be the "movements" Flag. Encapsulates the situation perfectly.

I'm going to tweet the controller to everyone with the #PS4NoDRM #PS4UsedGames
