New Wii U accessories, Nintendo Land + Wiimote, and White 32GB Wii U announced

I think the Basic is fine if you just want disc-based games.

If you plan to go digital, ultimately either model doesn't matter, 32gb is still nothing. You would end up getting an HDD eventually with either Model. Only advantage of the premium in this regard is the Digital Discount Promotion.

Agreed, that was my reasoning when I opted for the 8GB one, but it was mostly driven by the fact that I didn't want the glossy black one.

I want to either play it or sell it but I don't want to sell it if there's a remake coming out this fall. Won't it be worthless?

Now I confused myself lol.

I doubt it. The value might drop momentarily but it's one of those games that's bound to be a collectors item years from now, especially if itls still sealed.

Are they talking about re-releasing Xenoblade or an all new game? This is very important to me...as I don't want to keep my sealed copy of Xenoblade sealed if that's the case.

Sorry if this was already answered but what is this super secret internal document? Fake? The heading reads like a cartoon HQ/ACME joke.

Link to that image first appeared three months ago, image itself says it was upload a month ago. Not sure how that works out.

Honest question. Has anyone actually had an issue with their Gamepad running out of power?

I'm not defending Nintendo here, and I do think they definitely cheapened out on the stock battery. But I've always put my Gamepad on the charger between sessions and haven't really ever run into an issue with it running out. Of course, I haven't really had any games that currently warrant long play sessions either.

I'll probably end up getting the Nintendo charger at some point. 5-8 should be plenty for my use.

Me, playing Metroid Blast with a friend. It didn't run out, but we had to stop because it was about to.

I wouldn't say "an issue", but there's been a couple times that I've brought my GamePad over to my computer. I was chatting on Facebook with friends and surfing GAF in between levels of Kirby's Dreamland 3 with Off-TV play. I was trying to be one of those multi-tasking millenials, but then my GamePad died.

I do this with my 3DS sometime, but I just shut the top. Sleep mode saves battery life when I'm not immediately playing it.

When was that paper 'leaked'? I don't recall reading about it. Maybe everybody just dismissed it as fake? I'd too.. looks pretty unprofessional, heh. "SUPER SECRET!"

I've only really put time into NSMB U and Monster Hunter, but the Gamepad running out of power is always a problem.

All the time. All the damn time.

The charger is at an inconvenient place in my living room, so I usually play the Wii U with the charger off the plug.

And pretty much every game session (when I play, I like to do it for hours on end), it runs out and I have to move to the awkward location to charge it. It feels like a device with a worn down battery.

That list looks legit. There's a ton of stuff on there that wasn't announced when it first showed up that has since come to pass. I don't think you can really doubt it's authenticty at this point.

Somebody should make a thread about that list now that it is assumed legit.

That battery charging thing for the Wiimote is nice. Kind of wish we had that about 3 years ago though.

It's nice that they're making a white 32GB Wii U too, but I always kind of figured that the White/Black difference was done to easily illustrate the differences between the 2 consoles.

What I'd REALLY like to see is some new colors though. There was supposed to be like 6 different colored Wiis in earlier marketing things if I remember correctly, and we ended up only having a black alternate color (and I think blue and red for some sort of promo)

I just want some more semi-transparent consoles. I love my Atomic Purple GBA and I want that orange N64 so bad. They've teased us with transparent Wii U and 3DSXLs before...

am I the only one who thinks that a 2600 first party battery is waaaaayv better than a 4000 third party battery?

I haven't had the best experiences with third party batteries.

Damn no 3d Mario this year? Also I'm assuming that Wind Waker HD and not a true Zelda sequel. This should have been the launch window lineup, not your 2nd holiday.

At least we get Bayonetta 2 and Smash Brothers

Edit: Missed the Not Yet Announced on the bottom.

Yes, when showing it off to the family at the holidays. It ran down in no time and soured the fun when it had to charge after a few hours.

Sounds like plenty of people have pushed the limits of the battery, so guess I'm in the minority. I definitely hadn't considered party situations where the controller might be used for hours on end. Still, I hope that the better battery is something that is included for the future, although I doubt it.

Of course, I have had more issues with the 3DS battery going dead from a full charge with only being on standby all day.

There is no way that list is true guys. Nintendo is not going to launch their two biggest multiplayer console franchises side by side. They also aren't going to cram all those games in the fall/holiday lineup as it would cannibalize each other on top of the sega and ubisoft titles. Speaking of which this list is also missing Zelda 3DS for this year and NoA is publishing some of those newly anounced Sega titles releasing this year which are also absent from the list. On top of the unlikelihood of Smash being ready or that X will release after SMT x FE given that X was one of the few titles in a showable state earlier this year.

Also all places source an image that was uploaded a month ago which means it is likely that the original image was edited to reflect the changes to the lineup/release dates. Seems convenient that they can give an exact date for every summer title except W101.

Not sure how that fits together with the 3-months-old link on Reddit.
I was going to say... I've been reading about this list for months and every newly announced thing from Nintendo continues to prove its validity. I'm guessing the "fall" thing is a placeholder, not an actual release date. If it is the actual date, my wallet will fail me instantaneously.

I'm interested in both the bigger Gamepad battery and the Wiimote charge packs. I had a third party Wiimote battery pack set which was good for about six months, after that the Wiimotes lasted about ten minutes.

White Premium pack has to be a move to phase out the basic pack and lower the console price soonish, right?

Right?

Do the premium packs still come with Nintendo Land? Because if so, they'd have to keep the basic if they're planning on selling Nintendo Land with Wii remotes.

I've first seen it after the Pikmin 3 date was announced. At that time we also knew about the Wii Remote charger but not about the new battery. I think it could be real indeed, it's just that I couldn't find any earlier picture than the one I posted.

Seeing as WUP-P-ACME is also correct now, I think it's legit.

I can't find it right now but I'm almost positive this list was posted before Pikmin. I'm checking the place you Go to for Nintendo news and other GAF topics, but no yields yet. Hmm...

Right now all I ask is that they update the next version of the Wii U to include a fucking optical audio port. I have to use my Astro A40s for everything now, and the Wii U is the only thing I can't connect. Sucks.
