I'm not sure. Given their recent actions, I honestly believe that MS dominating the console market would be a bad thing for gaming enthusiast. As such, I welcome news that impede their progress.
I agree.

I do not understand this.
Xbox 360 was released in 2005. It is 2013 now, eight years later, how is Microsoft having so many issues with the launch of this console?
They had ample time, resources to begin with.
I honestly wonder if Microsoft's original intent was a Holiday 2014 launch. Too bad we'll probably never know for sure. They were obviously not prepared for Sony to be ready to go in 2013.
I hope Dean from VentureBeat does write a book on this. I loved his last book.
Seriously what a piece of dogshit this thing is, they have ruined it for everyone. PC gamers will suffer from Xbone gimping, PS4 gamers will suffer from Xbone gimping.
Microsoft is like the guy jumping on the tracks at rush hour. Fucked everyone.
ucan remo.ve RUMUR frmo hte thread tittle TEAMMOD. esram yieldls. are "troubling"toput it lightly.
truthfact.
btw youiw lil not njhear abouthing about tech atMS E3 presentation. tech tarbaby (notracistst!) IS TSTICKIER THAN YOU WIL EVER KNOW. I LOOK FORWARF TO READING THE BOOK BY VENTUREBEAT.

well fortunately sony has alot of first parties.
the team that made the last of us will make the next uncharted on the most powerful console.interesting.....
but xbone is still more powerful than x360, right?
To get to Wii U levels, you need a new, lower powered, and shittier GPU with 1 GB of DDR3 allocated to games and no ES RAM. That's a far cry from what Xbone is.
When did MSFT say 40? Last look Ars Technica and Wired, who both got the hardware guts from MSFT, said 28 nm.
I don't understand this. Why are the yields problems tied to PS4 upgrades? I think the hardware for the X1 was set in stone way before any sign of a RAM upgrade...
If the yields are a problem than not because of Sony but because of MS chosen way for the X1 or am I missing something?
Burn for having yield issues? Why?Well if MS secures the blockbusters of their shitty machine, people wont care how shitty it is now, will they?
That's the harsh reality.
They'll bring the games at E3, more so than Sony. People will just...well...deal with it.
They won't burn for this (even tough they should).
Yeah I thought that was odd as well. What is out there to support that?I don't understand this. Why are the yields problems tied to PS4 upgrades? I think the hardware for the X1 was set in stone way before any sign of a RAM upgrade...

lol yes.
To be honest, part of me feels that the Xbone failing big would be good news at this point for people who love gaming, because the DRM thing will be pinned as one of the reasons.

wired originally said they said 40nm, why did it?
They'll get a link to Evolved's post that links back to CBoaT's original post on a message board WELL known for telling corporations to fuck off when asking for user's private information.
Journalists aren't going to quote and cite him on VG news sites because the formatting is atrocious (coupled with their own ego), so the biggest "red flag" is already bypassed.
They couldn't even use preferential word use and sentence arrangement (how your phone/tablet predicts what word you want next) versus known employee twitter accounts/internal emails/etc.. If you don't think that is done regularly you're fooling yourself, and this bypasses a huge leak detection tool.
That and with no real specific red flag words so you can quite literally argue the "word" of the law should they ever track him down. It's gibberish to most.
And again, this is a paper shield. But a thousand paper shields stacked one atop the other becomes pretty damn effective.
The Wii U also has embedded mem on the chip

Thanks for the translation. I seriously could not decipher what was typed.sure
edit: I might have gotten the tarbaby thing wrong... only vaguely familiar with the reference.
Yes, but the Wii U is also more powerful than the Wii.but xbone is still more powerful than x360, right?
Sony did not get lucky. They had Cerny on their side. The yield problems aren't tied directly to Sony except in the way that the two consoles are directly compared to each other, he's saying that it's a problem for MS because Sony went a different way and got lucky/chose wisely and as a result there's a power gap. If Sony hadn't been able to go to 8GB late in the game it would likely mean MS wouldn't have to worry nearly as much about a perceived or real performance gap. But they did and now they do... seemingly.
but xbone is still more powerful than x360, right?
then i don't see anything to worry about. if it's the multiplats people are worried about i'm pretty sure MS has the means to make xbone the lead platform.
chubs, could you add this "translation" to the OP? it's probably helpful to people unfamiliar with parsing CBOAT.Mods, you can remove "rumor" from the title. ESRAM yields are "troubling", to put it lightly.
This is factual truth.
Btw, you won't hear tech talk at MS' conference. And the tech cannot change at this point. They're stuck with it.
MS rushed, they were caught off guard by Sony, due to a failure in leadership.

I've always assumed the same, and it is a very effective mask for CBoaT. For example, I am constantly mindful of my phrasing because I'm terrified people will realize I'm Pulitzer Prize winning novelist and playwright Cormac McCarthy.
maybe they weren't ready to release it yet

Well, it would help them a lot, but I'm not expecting anything close to stellar out of their line up.
So far, pretty much every major rumor that was circulating earlier this year about the Xbone has had at least some truth to it:
- Quite underpowered compared to PS4
- "Always" online
- Always "Kinected"/privacy issues
- DRM/Used game restrictions
- Casual focus/TV passthrough, etc.
- Six months behind the curve in terms of game development
That last one we won't know for sure about until after E3, but at this point I'm pretty much expecting it to be just as true as everything above it. Either that, or they're going to announce a bunch of launch games at E3 and then push many of them back into 2014 in the weeks/months after E3.
I don't understand this. Why are the yields problems tied to PS4 upgrades? I think the hardware for the X1 was set in stone way before any sign of a RAM upgrade...

768K of shared DRAM is nothing compared to 32 MB of ESRAM for GPU only.
I mean factors apart here...
Id say there is little to no chance of a price at e3.

He's the physical manifestation of all of our desire for rumours and juicy leaks. As such, he is legion. If you take that into account, the mild degree of insanity on display in his posts is entirely understandable. Is crazy buttocks on a train some kind of GAF mystical entity
