Lightning Returns FFXIII - Snow confirmed!

I can recall three-ish scenes I would classify as lighthearted in XIII. The Hope and Vanille chat on Pulse in Chapter 11. Vanille messing with the sheep. And um... Maybe Sazh and the giant cactuar. I guess there could be more, but those scenes are so few and far between and now that I think about it, all happen on Pulse.

I'm the rare breed around here who actually likes Vanille as a character, despite her awkward moans. lol

Also most of Nautilus. And Sazh lagging behind Lightning in the beginning of the game. Then Sazh's baby chocobo.

Most of what I remember from Nautilus is all the serious stuff between Vanille and Sazh. It's been a while since I've played, though. (EDIT: I do remember now playing that really easy 'find the chocobo' thing with Sazh.) I didn't care for the Sazh/Lightning segments nor did I find them all that humorous especially because of Lightning's constant physical abuse to other characters (like Sazh). :P

Sazh's frocobo was indeed very cute, and I'm glad it was there.

To be fair, Lightning only hit Sazh because he bear hugged her and refused to let go. She asked, tried to push him off, and then finally hit him to get him to let her go. Pretty sure that would have gotten the police on Sazh's ass under normal circumstances.

lol, true. But she was also just abandoning him there at the edge. Sazh just wanted a friend... poor guy. :P

Sazh: "I JUST WANT A FRIEND!"

Serah: "I understand that, but grabbing people from behind and touching their funbags (pretty sure he copped a feel there during the struggle) is what we call bad touch."

Sazh: "Yes, miss Serah."

Serah: *Pulls out handcuffs* "Now, while my sister might not be into that sort of things" *Handcuffs Sazh to the bed* "I am."

Sazh: "LIGHTNING! YOUR SISTER BE CRAY CRAY AGAIN!"

I better stop while I'm behind.

You'll probably enjoy these. I think the second one is the best.

Should I finish FFXIII? I haven't played it for about 2 years, I think was at the dungeon after the big plains area.

Do you really even remember the story at this point?

Ah hell, even if you did the ending would still make no damn sense.

Play it if you're curious and enjoy the battle system. Otherwise, you're not missing much. Some might argue the gameplay of XIII-2 is better, but the story takes a flipping nose dive and never veers up.

The story is way more entertaining in XIII-2 tbh. *gets pelted with rotten meat*

I would say maybe not if it's been that long. Either start over or don't bother, because after two years it won't make a lick of sense anyway. Although you are almost at the end...and the final areas are chocked full of eyecandy. You will also miss the coolest bosses in the game (Proud Clod). FF XIII-2 has a really nice recap of all the chapters of XIII available from the title screen menu. I would say just go straight to XIII-2 and watch the recaps.

After the plains area it's Eden and Orphan's Cradle. Those are basically two of the most visually impressive areas in the game. The final boss looks pretty crazy too. You could probably beat it in 2-3 hours. Up to you really.

And then yeah, as stated above, XIII-2 provides a recap of the story. So does wikipedia.

It was pretty easy to follow imo
I liked that they went a bit crazy with it, XIII on the other hand was pretty dull in its execution.

The base plot at a glance is easy to follow, yeah. Now, actually try to analyze everything that is going on. It falls apart at every turn.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. Believe me, I like zaniness. I love Sengoku Basara for that very reason. There is negative internal logic in that series and the plot is crap, but it is so over the top and fun that I always go back for more. I wouldn't have minded XIII-2's zaniness if XIII had been just as zany. The problem for me is that they went from being rather grounded to being off the chain zany. It's jarring to say the least, and I would prefer them staying with their original tone rather than throw everything out the window.

Snow looks like he's more of an enforcer than a Mayor. But I know Sazh is happy. He get's coins for life

So glad to see the chocobo hair from 2 is gone. May just be the quality, but his hair looks like Lightning's hair color now...?

Either way, he looks way more gruff. I'm digging the design.

Time doesn't exist yet exists at the same time.

FF5 Phantom Village all over again.

Or it's just FF3 covered with a CoD.

Let me guess; he's somehow governor of a city but is still something like 26 years old?
People no longer age after the consequences of FF13-2.

I want to see more script from this place, or at least whether or not it evolved in some fashion. It'll be too bad if there is little explanation behind the selected script compared with Pulsian vs Cocoon vs Etro script.

Perfo and Lukky, I know you guys have been waiting for this! Next week's Jump confirms that Snow will be returning in LRFFXIII! Snow is the governor of the City of Pleasure, and he continues to harbor regrets of not being able to save Serah. Apparently his new design spots a black suit like those worn by a host in Japan. Gigolo-Snow confirmed?!
