So to make sure I understand this right, people aren't happy with the conference due to the price and that there were too many shooters? If that's the case then I guess I understand, I actually thought it was a great a conference.

On top of everything else that is already 'wrong' with the Xbone that they failed to acknowledge even a little bit? There was very little to be truly excited about coming out of this conference.

4/5 Really well orchestrated as usual with MS. Not every title looked super exciting (Dead Rising 3, Ryse ...), and some fuckups were so bad I had to mute the stream, but overall MS seemed comitted enough to games -core and indie- to make me feel better about them as a company.

I'm not paying 500 dollars for a system with so many faults and a conference where the best games were all multiplat.

2/5

The exclusives just didn't seem exciting. A lot of been-there done-that gameplay. The QTEs in Ryse were laughable. And $499 ouch.

How can people honestly expect them to address the DRM issues? Their conference was ALL about games and they made that clear. It is likely this conference was planned before the mass outcry against the policies. They will address these issues for sure, but in future press releases.

Excellent conference. It was exactly what I hoped for. (except for the price)

I was surprisingly happy with this conference.

EXCITE:

Titanfall
Quantum Break
Capy game
Halo
Insomniac
Dead Rising
Crimson Dragon

MEH:

Killer Instinct
Forza
Battlefield 4

MGS5 trailer was one of the best I've ever seen – very exciting. That would have been a killer exclusive.

2/10

Too much noise and flash to mask mediocrity.

I liked DR3 and Titanfall. Everything else left me wanting or completely uninterested. The price tag didn't do much to help things either.

It was ok. The organisation was good. No sales charts, powerpoints slides, huge monologues, just trailers. Unfortunately the only one that had any wow factor for me was MGS and that's coming to PC.

1/5

Its the same thing again.

But this time with DRM, always online, always kinect and $499

Its a disaster

But the REAL disaster will be release day. With everybody trying to connect at the same time to check their games.

More of the same. Didn't see anything that genuinely excited me or made me envious of nextgen, apart from some of the multi-platform stuff like Witcher and MGS. Forza looked pretty, titanfall looked decent. Killer Instinct will get overhyped. Neither Rare (this rare of course) nor Double Helix have have anything in their CV to suggest they can make it a success. The price point won't go down well.

5/10

They focused on games, so kudos for that, but failing to even mention the huge issues that the web has been buzzing about since the XB ONE reveal, is shooting themselves in the foot. Being an early adopter of the 360 and the PS3, I don't think $500 is an unreasonable price. However, the licensing issues with used gaming, being always connected and mandatory camera in my living room, are all factors that pushed XB One ownership out of the range of reasonable investment to me.

Conference: 3/5
New MS Console: 2/5

Looking at the summary thread I may have been a little harsh with 2/5, they did have an impressive line up of exclusives. That price though really undermines everything else.

If I could vote, I'd give it a 4/5. Solid titles and it touches a lot of genres. But not a lot of console sellers. In fact, only Titanfall would be the exclusive that will sell the console.

That $499 price tag though put the crowd back to reality though. It took them 3 seconds to clap for it. I counted
No not really, but it felt that long.

Random Question: How long will it take to become a full fledged member on the boards?

3/5

+I didn't hear TV or Sports once.
+They focused on games back to back.
+Titanfall looks like an interesting game.
+Dead Rising 3 shown gameplay.
+Twitch Integration

-Focused on too many multiplatforms.
-Ryse QTEs "gameplay".
-Showing CG trailers as games, cool concepts shown, but you're not fooling anyone.
-Tremendous Failure on Crimson Dragon.
-Scripted Killer Instinct Show.
-The x360 is pretty much dead, they bumped everything to the Xbone.
-Price announcement, ouch.
-Didn't address what the fans have been complaining about the past few weeks. Oh you are listening? Then you should have said someting!

A solid 3/5.
A lot of games, many even interesting. A couple of new features weren't half bad.
On the underwhelming side: a high price, a lot of the most interesting games were actually multiplatform stuff and -while they focused on core audience as promised- they didn't address any of the concerns.

Overall a decent show, even if I wouldn't buy this thing at half its price.

2.75/5

Dead Rising caught my eye - took me back to 360 launch timeframe. And Titanfall looked fun. But there was just not enough to overshadow the other issues bouncing around and unresolved around their launch for me. Kudos for not showing any Kinect live action or Usher Microsoft.

8/10

Dead Rising, Titanfall, Forza looked good

But seriously, aside from Forza/Titanfall, most of these games looked like they could've been on a 360 and you wouldn't have noticed.

And the number of times they said "powered by the cloud"...

to be fair, live streaming won't make them look amazing. I hope MS release 1080p youtube videos or even better quality soon

I enjoyed the conference. It was pretty much just games the entire time and that's what we ask for. Now, that doesn't mean the games shown are exciting, just that the conference direction was good and I thought it was paced nicely.

That being said, not too stoked on much of what they had to show. The games that I like were Insomniac's game, Spark for the exclusives. MGS5, The Witcher, BF4, COD etc etc are all multiplat. The intro to Ryse looked amazing, then as the QTE's started to pile up, it started to look really shallow. Quatic Break didn't show me much. Titanfall did look pretty rad too though.

Still that's kinda what I expected. I'm gonna wait and see what Sony brings to really make a decision about next gen. For now though, I enjoyed the conference, it just wasn't enough to make me want to drop 500 day one. Especially with all the DRM crap.

5/10 for me.

The conference would have been a great second year conference but for the first year and after a lackluster reveal. The conference was really disappointing. The only wow moment was the $500 price point. Even the MGS5 attempted betrayathon was a FAIL! The game looked great but didn't hear exclusive mentioned once. Read it as Sony didn't have the space for Kojima so he took up a spot at MS. Rise looked like Kingdom Under Fire now with too much QTE. Quantum Break seemed interesting and the FPS crowd will love the conference. Really hated the Spark moment and the GameDVR, twitch streaming segments. It was so pre-recorded and scripted yet they tried to pass it off as live...even with the comments...smh

Bad:
-Way too much dudebro again. Few games weren't directly hinged on violence.
-Zombies are the next overdone genre confirmed.
-Kinect not used in any interesting way.
-Nothing really exciting.

Good:
-Volume of games was surprising.
-XBLG is finally worth something (but probably not $60).

They could have done a lot worse. 3/5.

Technically I feel this was an OK conference. Good amount of games, not painfully focused on blah blah. Weird flow, bad pricepoint reveal, bland selection not showing capabilities of "nextgen" beyond driveatars, minecraft again?, 3/5.

Taking into account my preferences with regards to gameplay and choice of games however I feel the need to go below that. 2/5.

The truth probably lies in between.

TitanFall, Capy game, were the highlights. The Twitch TV get was really big but still not first day buy kind of stuff. Not at that price.

5/10

some new games which makes me happy. Price is kinda ouch. but it was about the games.

Wasn't terribly excited about the games at all.

They should of demonstrated something on how the DRM works, the transfer of used games.

As a gamer it was ok.

Now the sony conference awaits.

3/5 (Or if allowed to use the 10 point scale 7/10).

Some decent games shown, too many with technical issues and Ryse looked dull to me, but interested in Dead Rising 3, Forza, Killer Instinct etc.

The kicker though, £429. Holy fuck, talk about a way to kill any hype in the UK. That's madness. In 2007 just before the recession £429 for the PS3 was a hard sell, living standards have decreased since, it's going to bomb.

2/5

Honestly there were a handful of genuinly interesting games that I didn't expect, but man, that price just drags everything down so much, and a lot of the other games weren't that exciting

Bad:
-Kinect not used in any interesting way.

This really really bothered me. If they are going to go to the trouble of forcing it as a pack in and jacking up the price by $100 or so then you better damn well prove that it is worth being a pack in in the first place. Did they use it even once during the conference?

I didn't tune in until the end of the MGS trailer though so maybe I missed it.

2/5

They really needed to show more exclusive IPs off for longer. I counted 6 exclusive games out of the 15 they mentioned. Too much multiplat. It would've been 3/5 but then the 500 dollars part kinda ruined it for me.

I'd give it an 8.

They showed off some genuinely promising games:

Sunset Overdrive
Below
Titanfall
Quantum Break

I think Ryse still could be pretty decent as well and the Black Tusk teaser was intriguing. I liked the 3rd party games, MGS and The Witcher both looked awesome. BF 4 looks to be best played on the XBO as well, what with the DLC.

All in all a decent show. It's just a shame about the price.

I will be fair. The conference looked good, the games looked good so I will give a 7.5/10 mainly because of the high price point. But because DRM is still breaker for me, aint buying this system and FUCK M$

7/10

Showed some good games and the indie situation is better than what some people here thought it was. A bit pricey but I will still buy one at launch along with the PS4. Below looked great.
