I think Cole could reach 325K if the press is good but it will be tough against Kanye.

Coppin both Born Sinner and Yeezus at the same time, I imagine many will.

I've been checking for this album a bit. Not the biggest Cole fan but figured I'd give this one a shot based on the amount of hype I've seen for it.

And the singles have been pretty good, but also speak to why Cole will not be the legend he seems to think he's destined to be based on recent interviews. It's all so steeped in tradition, we've heard it done better before. On like some third-generation VHS copy-of-a-copy type shit. Will still check the album out though.

few thoughts after a listen
- Cole has mastered the art of spitting hard as fuck w/o actually really talking about anything. it sounds good though.
- sound wise, there's definitely evidence of progression. lyrically? nah. same exact topics from the same perspective.
- production is nice. wish the drums hit harder but i could say that about every cole production ever. dude just likes soft drums i guess.
- definitely better than Cole World, how could it not be? feels like this is a second shot at making a good first album.
- he aint want that renegade from Kendrick. this album definitely could've used a few rap features. Cole aint good or interesting enough to be carrying an album by himself.

overall i'd give it...7/10. solid. by comparison i would give Cole World a 4 or 5.

Only listened to about half of it so far. Was so hyped for a Kendrick verse but left a little disappointed. Still that song was nuts.

After listening to all of it just now, agree 100% especially with the bolded, I think a huge problem with cole is that I don't really care about what he's talking about, he's just treading the same ground he always has, there's nothing new or interesting in that regard. Technically he's good though. Still, far far better than cole world, which was just... ugh.
Production is quite good on the album, wish he'd have songs that hit harder though.

Just finished it pretty good album nice production and he was spitting on the whole thing. Album will grow on me with repeated listens this album is kinda moody like Take Care in a way, like it should of been released in the fall/winter season. The only flaw is it needs some more uptempo songs on here like Head Bussa or Chris Tucker that's probably what Truly Yours 3 is for in the Deluxe.

8.5/10

My Favorite Tracks (No Order)
Runaway
Forbidden Fruit
Land of the Snakes
Let Nas Down
Crooked Smile

pretty good album so far. He's actually spitting hard unlike Sideline Story. Production has also stepped up!

I am feelin' this album. The production is strong, sometimes it drowns out the lyrics but the intensity is there.

Right now, I would say 8.5/10

Standout songs right now:

Runaway
Forbidden Fruit
Villuminati
LAnd of the Snakes
Let Nas Down

Gotta agree, Just a solid solid album. Very cohesive and super chill.

Remember when Friday Night Lights just came out and we were all super pumped on Cole?
Those were the days.

Hot damn, what a boring ass album.

I feel Cole will be completely forgotten in just a few years.

I gotta agree although a couple tracks were dope like the first one and the Mo Money interlude. Mo Money and Rich Niggaz was odd. One track about having money and another about being broke ass hater 4 tracks later =/

Cole needs to make a <40m album next time. Dude doesn't have much range.

Really enjoyed some of Born Sinner, why is it so long though, he could have done without some of these songs.

That being said She Knows makes all the faults okay.

I want Cole to use other producers for his 3rd album.

See if he can make something better out of it.

His production isn't bad, but I'd like to see him experiment more.

Also the beat on Let Nas Down is great.

I think there are some really good tracks on the album. Not a big fan of him "paying homage" to Da Art of Storytellin and Electric Relaxation though

I can't get excited about this album.
I tried. I tried. I'll sleep on this though.

More interested in Action Bronson actually. Saab Stories.

It's pretty solid, haters gone hate.

Stupid stuff like he needs to "Hang it up" and similar crap is just pathetic.

Dude is alright and I can honestly say he puts on some of the best live performances. Best performance at last years Rock the Bells and I heard he killed it at Summer Jam. He actually has a f*ck ton of emotion, live.

I can't wait for James Fauntleroy to blow up, he makes everything he touches that much more amazing.

I really enjoy the songs where Cole has a choir type singing of the chorus towards the end, Crooked Smile / Born Sinner. He should employ that a bit more.

Eating the fuck out of this crow.

This album is actually quite good. "She Knows" is fucking awesome.

Overall this is a little flat, trying a little too hard to be a 90's era rap album, Illmatic influence throughout (I am 36, grew up through that era, find it to be wildly overrated, especially the late 90's). But the production is good, the verses are dense and long as fuck and I see a lot of effort went into this thing.

Fell asleep to this, Mac Miller put out a hotter album.

Being completely honest, this album has been growing on me. Some really good stuff like Trouble and Let Nas Down. Cole's main problem is his subject matter, which blows most of the time. Even Cole World had more "concept" songs than this.
