NST put up a job listing on the NOA site for a Software Engineer on April 25th.

Under requirements they list:

• Has worked on shipped console game titles as a network programmer.
• Experience working with Web API is a big plus.

I think this is further proof that NST has a second team/is working on a bigger project than Crosswords or Mario & Donkey Kong.

Just noticed Nintendo's latest employment numbers are up. Accurate as of end of March 2013.

Full time employees world wide: 5,080 (down 15 from 5,095 in Sept 2012)
Full time employees NCL: 1,945 (down 11 from 1,956 in Sept 2012)

EDIT: Brownie Brown/1-Up STUDIO's restructure in the interim (they lost ~13 people) may be the biggest culprit for the loss.

Since this figure is accurate to the end of March, it likely wouldn't include the ~56 new graduates NCL picked up in early April.

It makes me wonder, since both Paper Mario and Mario and Luigi RPG are on the 3DS, and Nintendo confirmed they have more collaborations with third party's, I wonder if it's possible if Nintendo and Square teamed up again for Mario RPG 2.

Im just quoting you here so you notice and you seem to know a fair bit of Nintendo stuff. Wasnt it showed on the last invester conferance that Nintendo had three new foreign divisions? Mobiclip, and two we dont know? Did anyone find out something about this?

Kyoto Monolith: Unannounced 3DS Game (Studio has been around for 20 months now, but they're yet to hire a programmer as far as I know, unless some moved from the main office or they're out-sourcing dvelopment. Honne is working here.)

I wonder who they're outsourcing to? They have worked with tri-Crescendo before.

SDP 1: Purely speculation, but since the Rhythm Heaven 3DS puzzle came at the same time as the DK one, they are possibly working on Rhythm Heaven for 3DS.

SDP 2: Worked with HarmoKnight last year. Last console project seems to be Xenoblade, so it's possible they are working with Monolith X & Monolith Kyoto's game too. Maybe a new Endless Ocean with Akira or Fossil Fighters with RED too?

Arika doing Endless Ocean is just a shot in the dark, but they've been relatively quiet recently. They are a small studio though (~50 people, iirc). Their last game was a Japan-only mobage.
