It was pretty cool to have 2 different "stories" going on at the same time.
As usual, Koro-sensei is funny as hell.
I wonder what is the "new project" mentioned at the end of the chapter.

It wasn't a mind-bogglingly stupid chapter for once, which is about as good of a complement as you can give the series right now.

Shinbunbu no Komatsu-san 1-4(End)

Cute little story about a girl named Komatsu getting her first boyfriend. She's also in a newspaper club. She learns about dating and jealousy and even solves a mystery. Then it ends.

Bloody Junkie end

Holy shit! This is BY FAR the most abrupt ending I have ever seen in a manga/anime. Berserk anime, Shaman King, Negima, Reborn; NOTHING comes close to this. It might as well have ended mid-chapter.

Good art. Having seen the artist's work on other compilations and this I have the hunch that insects are his strong suit but we'll see as I make it through this.

Fantasy World Jun volume 01

Holy shit this was absolutely incredible. It's about an aspiring mangaka and his wild imagination. It doesn't have much of a story or even text, it's mostly just brilliant imaginative artwork flowing together in an abstract dreamlike way.

And here is an amusing bit of relevant 60's mangaka drama that I stole from the comments of the translator's website.

Oh Tezuka.
lol bitter Tezuka, your art isn't that much better than Mizuki's.

More proof that Tatsumi should have been the god of manga instead.

BatDan

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
The final chapter of Gantz is out but only in Spanish right now.

Skimming through it... it's happy end.
Should have ended years ago.

Kono Kanojo Wa Fiction Desu 1-7 (tentative title : Mary Smut)

57883.jpg

Perfect waifu material (one of them is an in-universe example)

The story follows Hamura, high schooler, virgin and president of the litterature club. His main hobby ? Writing a 10-years giant fanfiction, compassing a hundred volumes, about Michiru, a girl he created down to the detail in order to cope with his lack of friends, lack of love interest and parental absenteism.
That is, until the day he falls in love with litterary prodigy Kuzumi Fuuko. Deeming he doesn't need his hobby anymore, he decides to pack all the volumes Michiru database in a bag in order to burn them in the local temple, where he coincidentally comes across Kuzumi. When he tries to confess his love for her, a strange storm occurs, during which Michiru comes to life and appears naked. In his bag. Hilarity ensues.

The comedy mainly comes from the fact that the protagonist began writing Michiru since he was a kid, and gave her a lot of characteristics and quirks. That ranges from wearing only an apron at home (puberty) to shooting laser beams from her eyes when she's pissed (as a kid discovering an awesome new shonen). Oh, and did I mention she swore to kill the girl Hamura's in love with ?
contender for the most innoncent yandere ever

The drawings are nice, the pacing is correct, there isn't that much smut
(to my greatest regret)
and yandere-Michiru is awesome. We'll see how the story unfolds.

IIRC yea they did and they even have a sequel now that after a while of serialization teasing (their was a small 5 chapter spinoff that eventually lead up to the new one and also some oneshots more directly related to the new one).

it finally happened but apparently he hasn't done much with it (at 2 volumes currently).

Every chapter in this thing lately feels like a retread. Haruto is confused about his future again? Never read this before.

Tragic victim of fan death
Read the first volume of Pandora Hearts, it's all comin' back to me. Also dropped Bokurano, too depressing. On an unrelated note regarding my dropping of it i'm convinced that Kitoh is a hebephile.

Pandora Hearts gets so good. It's initial arc feels really slow but it gets amazing.

Gakuen Heaven Revolution 14

So many months between volume releases and one that even ended on the locked shed incident cliffhanger, but Im just so glad to finally have more time with Keita and Kazuki and the various issues going behind the scenes at the BL Academy. Great cover with my two favorites and their scene spending the night was really entertaining, sweet, and enjoyable.

Happiest manga ever. Man, things couldn't be better for Kasuga.

Everything is going to go to the shitter in the most horrible way ever. Why is the author doing this to us??

I don't see how Nakamura's gonna be able to mentally fuck him up after all this progress but I hope she finds a way.

Sinbad 8

My gripe with this series isn't really just how boring it is, but rather that it;'s trying to ape the artstyle from the main series but it's completely lacking the charm that actually makes it work. The artist really should just try their own thing instead.

still better than the main series tho

Did she finger her with a bloody finger or something?
It's only 16 pages so read it and find out for yourself!

These last two chapters have been more fucked up than anything else in the manga because we all know she's coming back. And we all know Kasuga is doomed when she does.

Man, what kind of asshole would fuck with a class's pool?

Glad to see water is a real Kurosensei weakness, even if he was able to spin fast enough to "scoop it all away from him". Should lead to some real assassination attempts.

Left Hand of God, Right Hand of the Devil 52-77 END (Horror 5: Shadow of the Departed)

The general gist of this one is that Zumi's friend Miyoko gets possessed by a horrific demon after she comes across the dying body of a retired superstar. She herself slowly starts to change and makes a huge splash as an upcoming Idol at the expense of many lives (IDOL CULTURE). It also just so happens that the former guardian spirit of the girl starts to take over Sou's body leaving him with two faces, one of which is slowly taking over the other. The only way to combat this insurmountable evil is to have Miyoko's cherished Boy Idol's army of childlike spirits to attack the massive demon while Saburouta (Miyoko's former guardian spirit) attacks the evil spirit head-on. As this inevitably fails, Sou is forced to
possess his sister's body and turn into his guardian spirit, the demigod that has appeared throughout this series and kills not just the evil spirit, but the spirit protecting the evil spirit too.

Now, this might seem that it's all finally over but the twist is
A MONKEY USED FOR MEDICAL TESTING WAS POSSESSED BY THE EVIL SPIRIT.
THE END

Much like FOURTEEN and The Drifting Classroom, this is a must read purely for not only just how insane it can get, but to also see the best use of Umezu's classic use of panels uselessly panning into something. It's incredible just how much such a simple technique can significantly pad out the pages add to the sheer hilarity of it all.

After they've invested hours reading it might as well see it to the end

Well, I did not intend to be judgmental about it.

I guess I should just chalk it up as one of the things I just don't understand, like people liking Prince of Tennis or those who consider 20th Century Boys one of the best mangas ever crafted, haha.

Anyways,

I have been rereading The Enigma of Amigara Fault. Goddamn this is simply one of Ito's finest works. Chilling.

Whats with all this happiness and hope? I didn't sign up for this! Nakamura-san (unf unf), please come and save us from this nightmare!

That twintail haircut is so popular for female characters huh.

Wonder who made such style popular in the first place. Sailor Moon? (God I feel old)

Speaking of feeling old, tell me about your childhood mangas, GAF. Mangas that you grow up with, mangas that befriended your young self and serve as a part of you growing up.

For me, some of them:

The first manga I've ever read, I was 8yo
N2VtpRA.jpg

Actually, I didn't watch the anime that much when I think about it. And I was already a weaboo back then because I used the orignal names of the characters :lol

Stuff that made me like mangas even more when I was a teen :

I am Korean.

Fist of the North Star.

Crying Freeman (never read it, but I paged through it and saw back tattoos.)

Battle Angel Alita

I also have an old issue of SJ that has the premiere of Inu Yasha. (Personally I think one of the other mangas in there about a guy in a Hawaiian shirt that escapes police custody by pooping into his own hands then mashing into a cop's face as a distraction was more interesting, but I've never heard of it anywhere.)

The funny thing is when I was young, I really like watching animes. My Sunday mornings were filled with watching animes like Doraemons, Sailormoons, Saint Saiya, Cardcaptor Sakura, and many others.

Now, I can't stand them and only read mangas.

I wonder myself what happened to me to change so dramatically like that.

I'm pretty much the same.
Well, it's not that I can't stand them but I just prefer reading mangas. I only watch a couple of animes right now : Space Brothers, Gintama and Polar Bear Café.

The first manga I ever read was Tekken Chinmi, which I knew as Ironfist Chinmi and it seems you knew as Kung-fu Boy. The first manga I ever completed was Dragonball and the first series I started following as it came out was One Piece.

I got into manga through anime, I watched a lot of anime growing up but now I prefer to read manga. I don't really have the same motivation to watch anime as I do read manga.
