I hope the game I'm thinking of is not a booltleg.
It's an arcade game in which you play as a prisoner (in striped B&W garb) trying to escape from some mines while avoiding the guards. It's 8-bit (or close to that), it was all in Russian and when you got game over it played a song related to new year.
Second one - Genesis game - I played this game at a friends house a loooooong time ago. I never knew what it was called and it was really cool. Its 2 players and you're running around in caves shooting ooze and stuff. I dont remember much about it but you upgrade your gun i think. I remember it being really hard.

Sounds like Brain Dead 13. that was set in a castle and the protagonist wore normal clothing. I'm not sure if it was on the PC but it was sure on the Saturn and arcade.
This might be a bit far-fetched, so hoping that someone might be able to tell me if they've seen or heard the same thing.
I'm thinking of a game that was featured back when Sega was shopping around the Sega Channel in malls and whatnot. One of the games I accidentally clicked into featured Mega Man style game-play with a red-colored protagonist. I'm pretty sure that it wasn't Zero.
I do believe that the dialogue was written in Japanese - and before I forget, it *wasn't* Pulseman.
This might be a tough one, but if there's one thread on the entire internet that can help me, it'd be this one.
So, it's thus far an unreleased mech game - perhaps cancelled or shelved. There was a video of it, featuring a large quadruped or hexapedal machine - similar to a Chromehounds machine - walking around and even up an incline around an arid outcrop.
Any ideas? I suspect it was for PC and a Western creation. Within the last five to seven years. The video was...perhaps more like graphical showcase, as I don't recall there being combat.
A friend of mine is trying to figure out a game starring a female protagonist. Apparently, it is third-person and you throw cards that then summon monsters to fight for you. He can remember being in a church, a graveyard, and one of the cards was a pumpkin or a jack o lantern. It's an old game and might have been an RPG.

Game is essentially a black and white version of Wolf3D, except you fight toys. It was included in a '1001 games' cd I got when I was a kid. Don't really have any other info since i lost the disc years ago.
He doesn't remember the system. He said maybe PS1, but that might not help.
When he mentioned the jack o lantern I also thought of Persona, but it''s not isometric. It's a 3D game and from his description, it seems like you move around freely and throw cards around that summon monsters to fight for you. You don't control them in anyway apparently.

Alright guys, I've looked this one up in the past and have never, ever been able to find it.
When I was in elementary school, we had this Apple II math game that was not by MECC. You were answering math questions to earn currency (I think) in order to jack up your drag racer. You would buy better and better drag racers to eventually beat the fastest opponents.
Before every race, there was a terrible/great set of voices going "Oh nooo, oh Nooo, Ohh Noooo"
I think this was part of mplayer but not sure. Top down fantasy sport game. I think it was played left/right (tecmo bowl) rather than up/down like madden. It had at least one faction of green aliens in it, maybe they had a long neck. Had many different species iirc. Also I think it involved a ball, ball was possibly blue. I know one team colour was red but I'm fairly certain you could customize team species and colour.
Theres a light gun arcade game I remember, but don't know the name. I think you had 6 stages to choose and you could play all, but you had to complete (you could fail too) all or at least a lot of them.
Some levels are remember are:
-Some aliens or creatures trying to ram a bus
-weird wormish insects crawling in a hospital room with people laying in those tables
-Three "mutants" that threw toxic/explosive barrels
Thats about what I remember from the actualy game. I also remember a part of the intro, but its just like a guy you see behind a wooden door with small window with bars screaming and killed.
I think this was a PS1 adventure game. I never actually played it but caught YouTube gameplay videos once.
It was a 3D adventure game, or what looked like an adventure game. The graphics looked a lot like Silent Hill 1. All I remember seeing is the beginning of the game about some guy waking up in a motel room while it's raining outside. I'm not sure if the game was released in the US but almost certainly took place in the US.

I'm looking for an Internet "game" that was a series of webpages that tested your "hacking" ability. I say "game" because it was literally a series of webpages, and the object was to examine elements of the page, either images or the actual HTML code, and gather clues to uncover the URL of the next page in the series and sometimes passwords. And I say "hacking" because, while you were never required to do anything illegal to progress, you had to know how to read HTML code and understand how websites work. One particular puzzle I remember had you scouring the HTML of one of the pages to find a hidden link to a scrambled audio file that you had to reverse and slow down so you could decipher the password (or maybe the URL) to the next page.
I remember stumbling across that site in the mid-2000's. Probably 2005 or 2006. I'm curious to know if it's still around and if I'm any better at it now.

This is a mod, not a game but i figure it fits here anyway:
-Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne custom campaign
-Fantasy campaign, had elves and dwarves
-Unrelated to Warcraft lore, i think
-New skins for units, not sure about actual models
-New music
-First missions were played with an elven faction based on Night Elves
-Elven Hero was based on Furion
-Switched to dwarven faction at some point?
-Perhaps slightly more difficult than normal Warcraft 3 campaigns
No one's ever been able to answer this, but I never asked about this game on a site with much older people:
First person space combat arcade-ish game that had a free demo when you had I think Windows ME or XP (or even 98 lol). Gorgeous game for its time. There was some funny British dialogue from other pilots.

That gets really, really irritating after a while. I got to level 9 and now it's stopped being fun. Beatles reference??? (obviously if you cheat you can get further...i didn't because there's no point).
I have oblique puzzles in point and clicks when i want this sort of mind bending..
Actually, Starlancer looks closer to what I remember. Thank you for mentioning it. I only ever played the demo of this thing, and Freelancer looks way more complicated than that free Windows demo. Cool thing that guy is making a new game.
I'm trying to remember the name of this JRPG I played ages ago where at some point, the main character is sold into slavery into some sort of mine and escapes from it (of course) with his best friend. Might've been a Breath of Fire or Golden Sun game.. But can't really pinpoint it.
Ok, I give it a shot here due to all the success stories this thread has. Was thinking this game will always be lost in depths of my memories, but let's go:
Ok, the game I am looking for: It is a medieval turn-based-strategy game for PC very much in the style of Panzer General. All I remember is that you were a king with your own sigil and you were able to move troops between villages/cities to gain control of them. The number of knights/soldiers in the cities was visible to all players. If another player controlled the village, you had to send at least the same amount of troop to defeat him, but randomization also played a role. If you gained control over a city it would display your sigil, all in a Panzer-General-like 2D map. It was a great local multiplayer game for up to 4 players (I believe) and it had a very straight forward name (something like "Knights & Kings" or so).
I searched for it a lot of times, was never able to find it. I got it from one of the games compilations that were popular in the late-90s. But it might be that this game was just a small game that never got big recognition...

This happens in Dragon Quest 5. You are a slave with someone who is a jerk, but who becomes your best friend by the end of the many years of slavery in the mine.
I have one. I never played this, but saw it being played in a rec center. I think it was running on a Sega system. It wasn't on the Genesis or Master system. This would have been around the time the N64 came out (give or take a few years). The game looked like a 2D brawler. The characters had different magical abilities. It was a very flash game from what I remember, so that's probably why I thought it was so cool way back then. I remember that there were more than two players playing the game at once, which is something else I thought was amazing at the time. Any help?
Edit: I did some research into brawlers and it turns out I was talking about Guardian Heroes. It still looks amazing.
Edit 2: NOOOOO I sold my 360! I don't have anything to play it on.
Good to see this thread bumped. I have a game i've been trying to identify for the longest time, and if anyone could do it, it'd be GAF.
-The game was on Playstation.
-My only experiance was on a demo disc. Said disc had a trailer of Rapshody: a musical adventure.
-IIRC, the game was an action/adventure (Maybe it had platform parts in it too, I forget.) title in which you could transform into various forms with the X, [], and O buttons.
-I think two of those forms may have been a mushroom and a wolf.
-You battled a boss in a circular arena (The one in the demo had a forest backdrop.)
-The demo ended with a girl being carried off by 2 guys.
-The games character designs were anime/manga based, both in the heros and the monsters.
A 2d dos game. The goal was to solve puzzles to get to the end of the level. There were things like fire and fans that you had to use in the right order.
If I remember correctly, you played as a red fluffy character. It's al really vague, because this was probably 18 years ago.

I'm going to say Threads of Fate seems very likely. You can pick which character you want and the boy transforms. Also, the demo took place in a forest from what I recall playing of it.

DQV popped up when I googled a bit but I've never played it. So it must be some other game. I also vaguely remember that you escape during some sort of revolt or something. And I think you travel by ship pretty soon after getting out of the mine
Could anyone help me with the name of a 90's PC game that was a bit cyberpunky and featured the ability to hold an uzi up to the side window of your vehicle and blast away at hapless passersby...
Possibly it was called "Biohazard", but I cannot find any evidence of that as our American cousins used that name for what we call "Resident Evil".
Oh one more thing, what type of console is at the bottom right of this picture? The guy next to me at work is flat-hunting and found this picture which has been bugging us!

Probably Quarantine; the slight confusion would be understandable.
