Yeah, no. Dress like an adult.

I'm generalizing, sure, but the only people I EVER see wearing gaming apparel are children and awkward neckbeards.
If you're convinced that you are the one percent and can pull it off without looking like a manbaby, go wild. At least get fitted tees, for the love of god.

(Sorry, I just really hate these kind of clothes. I can't help it, don't eat me.)

Only gaming shirt I wear is a very simple one with a Gameboy printed on the front. And I don't wear it often, but it gets people talking about memories with it etc.

Generally I wear simple v-necks or band t-shirts. I guess band tees get a lot of flack too, but I think they can look tasteful and it gets people to come up and talk to me about the band.

I really believe that, and this is not limited to gaming but TV shows, movies, books, whatever else you can be a fan of--it doesn't make sense to buy clothing branded with something you like unless it is a) high quality clothing that serves its primary purpose as clothing, and b) visually appealing even without the connection to the thing you like.

I've got the NeoGAF Ace Attorney t-shirt, I've got a Maw Eat Things t-shirt, and this Fangamer 2300 AD Ruined World shirt, and then a promotional Lego Indiana Jones shirt. I wear t-shirts about 1/10th or 1/20th of the time, so it's a very small fraction of what I wear and each of them have cool visuals beyond my enjoyment of the stuff.

Don't. Get some shit that makes you look like you at least halfway give a shit about how you look.
And caring about how you look must mean we're all homogenized and look like you, right? Nothing but polo shirts or white button-downs, right? Fuck that.

I pick mine with a sense of style (i.e. I would never buy one that says "don't make me go zelda on you" because I'm not stupid), they match the other stuff I wear in style, tone and color, they fit me well and I have fitting jeans (not cargo shorts) and I do not wear a fedora. Everyone either loves my gaming tees or don't understand what they mean, and don't care. Gaming clothes have come long ass way from just being a logo on the front of a XXXXXL shirt you got at E3.

Any pics for us to judge?

This is what I abide by. I think the people saying "no gaming clothing, dress like an adult" are thinking of the loud ugly shirts (see Donkey Kong) that scream gamer outright. Some gaming shirts are well made and look awesome without anyone that doesn't play that game knowing the shirt is from a game. Take those Destiny shirts, you'd have no idea that was from a game if you didn't know what Destiny was. The AC hoodies aren't bad either. The key is to get nice looking gaming shirts that speak to those who play that game, but are otherwise unknown to your typical person other than that they have a cool design and color.

It doesn't get wilder than this folks

The mouth's placement ensures that the fatter you are, the hungrier DK looks

Is that the shirt that came with a pre order to Donkey Kong Country? If so, that was easily the cheapest shirt I had ever worm. It was like rice paper. I wore the day after I got the game, only 1 person even mentioned it, I think he ask me if I got the game.

I have a Pac-man shirt that I feel like a huge tool wearing. I also have a mario/luigi shirt that is 2 sizes too small.

my god no. do not ever buy any gaming related clothes EVER. even movie related clothes are shit.

the only acceptable ones are band t-shirts, and even most of them are shit.

the only acceptable reason for this is a humiliating joke present for a friend.

So many of these tshirts are downright embarrassing :(

I couldn't wear any video game shirts out in public personally, but to each his own

Stop wearing what I don't like! the thread.
Is it really? I am all about personality and wearing what you want but when you are a 40 year old guy wearing a silk dragonball z shirt i think it's time to grow up.

I am not talking about wearing something ironically, showing your love for things at a convention etc. I am talking about a grown ass man wearing kids clothes in public. To me, it's as bad as wearing your pants to your knees.

The only video game shirt I have is Ness's shirt from Earthbound. I like it because its just a blue and yellow striped shirt but I've had a couple people ask me if its an Earthbound shirt.
