Completely different engine that's much more efficient and built for multi-platform use. We don't know about how many DVD's.
Drebin is fighting for the Lord's Resistance in Uganda some time in 1987. Timeline fits, and we're likely going to see some African countries.
Also, a lot of the people of other races (and sexes) within the series usually end up being related too. It's just one of the things of the Metal Gear games at this point, for better or for worse.

Raiden was supposed to crawl on all four and lick bird poop. I think a lot of the ridiculous stuff probably comes from him more than Kojima.
That would have been a great scene. Raiden would have gone "!" and told Rose what exactly the bird ate from its poop.
His art style is great.
Lots of nostalgia attached to MGS1 for me as I was hyped through the roof reading about it for years before it's release. I always have to try and remove that when comparing each game in the series. Even when I get rid of that I still think it is one of the better entries in the series.

This is a good question, especially if Kojima is really serious about going after more realistic and adult themes with this game because he could possibly end up pissing people off (and not in the usual Kojima way).

Absolutely. Look at past MGS games. The soldiers usually carry equipment based on their nationality or allegiance. MGS2 and 3 are the best examples.
No worries. The blue beret is commonly worn by Russian paratroopers, which I think someone else pointed out.

I agree. I don't even know what happened after MGS1 but his voice was the clearest and most profound in this game.
It's probably the translation Jeremy Blaustein did for that game.
Yep, still prefer TTS version of that scene. Much more dramatic.

The original shows that Sniper Wolf had no interest in shooting Snake, the TTS version shows that she tried and missed. It's like Silicon Knights had gone too long without having Snake dodge a bullet and they just had to slip one in there.

Kitamura originally had cutscenes that were toned down and nowhere near as crazy but Kojima asked him to ramp them up.
It's both. Hayter's MGS1 performance of Snake was painful or something, so he recreated it so it was less painful for his throat. Shamefully from then on wards most of his acting was trying to imitate the original MGS1 voice, as opposed to actually acting it.
And yeah, the liberties Blaustein took with MGS1 were great. TTS follows the original script more faithfully, and it's less effective for it. I can understand why Kojima was annoyed, but Blaunstein's changes were for the better.

it's a metaphor; kojima descent into madness is similar to that of big boss.
