Pfft. Keyboards and controllers are so old.

I play GW2 with the power of my mind.

Actually I'm a skill-clicker sometimes don't kill me

Ah, it feels good to have confirmation.

I do have to revise my own theory though.
I don't think it's Glint's Offspring anymore, but perhaps her remains.

Yeap. Feels like it really is more of a sad song now with the background music considering what it means.

The song is definitely a sad song, going by the lyrics. I'm interested to see where it all goes, good job Anet!

Now what's left is to figure out what's up with those Aetherblade ship remains below the Sanctum!

Without a doubt, I think we're headed for the Crystal Desert sooner rather than later. I think this is all but confirmation that that's the direction they are going, or at least to wherever her remains are hidden away.

TOP OF THE PAGE HOLY SHEEEIT

We're 99 posts away from a new OT!

Coming soon, PR RETRO'S FINEST

I will definitely be posting the OT3 before I head to bed tonight, tomorrow will probably be too late.

colin said in guild chat it's unlikely we'd get crystal desert this year. He didn't specifically say it couldn't be next year though.

Grinded out Weapon Smith last night. Since I had a crafting xp booster, I thought it would be cheaper than the 12.5g - 13g the guide lists. Not entirely sure if it was. It took around 7g starting from 150 or so, along with a lot of materials I already had.

Don't tease me with the Crystal Desert stuff. That was the biggest disappointment in GW2 for me, Of course, its probably all purple and branded these days, but still. If they ever do bring it back, as an actual desert at least, I hope it sticks around for good.

Interesting theory about Glint.

This makes me wonder about the freed dragons.

GW1 spoilers -

With Glint now dead and the disappearance of the forgotten ones, this would make Kuunavang the last known dragon who is still free from an elder dragon or knows exactly how it happened.

Also in GW1 we know Glint had eggs, so it is possible that she continued to lay them long into this time period, and perhaps one of them still remains under the careful watch of someone.

I don't see that we would be going to where her remains are hidden.
It seems to me that the Zephyrites, by bringing the remains to Tyria, have done that for us.

Also, the Sanctum Sprint song sounds extremely like something from a Zelda game.

Spoiler tag that shiz. Also yes it does.

The Zephyrites probably have it on the Sanctum, and the Aetherblades want it, most likely why they are attacking.

You and Retro should give the controller scheme a try. It's certainly much faster than skill-clicking. :)
Please tell me you're not a keyboard turner... Gema keyboard-turns and it shocks me how utterly slow it is. :D

Oh, snap! I forgot to have a conversation with Braham in Cragstead!

I'll have to remedy that tonight, see what the fine fellow has to say, and why it warranted a mention in the patch notes.

Greetings GW2-GAF!

I played in all of the beta weekends and played like a madman the first month of GW2's release. However I stopped playing altogether once my final year of college started, which I'm now done with. I tried getting back into GW2 so I thought I would start a new character. My only problem is that the starting zones I've been in (Charr character) are almost completely empty. I think I've seen a total of 10 people on my realm on the way to level 10.

Is this an issue now? Maybe my realm is just unpopulated. I think I'll try switching to GAF realm.

It's just a product of leveling based MMO's. As people level and more people hit level cap, the older zones get deserted as there is no real reason to return to them. It'll be the same way no matter which server you go to.

The major meta events always get people though, due to the change to rewards.

Hopefully the change to champions coming up will attract more people to some of the lower zones.

Usually you'll find players in the starting zones corresponding to whatever the daily achievement is. Today one of the dailies is "Maguuman Event Completer", so there's a lot of people in the Asura and Sylvari starting zones. You can use the portals in Lion's Arch to go to and from each city.

New OT soon ?
Awesome.

Still about 25 posts away before we're even on the "Last Page" (assuming you're 50ppp). I'm sure we'll hit that tonight. Jira and I have plans for the second post in the thread that aren't ready yet, but he needs to get that second post. So I'll be waiting for him to get home before we roll it out.

Stupid question, but by doing this do I then "miss out"on content? Like what happens when I hit level cap? I cant clear all the starter ares and see all the main zones right?

Its quite hard adjusting from a rigid setup of zone 1> zone 2> 3 or 4> 5> that kind of thing akin to WoW/FF11 etc

Every zone scales you down in level if you're too high, and experience is on a linear progression unlike WoW. There is no penalty for hopping zones and you can always come back to other zones and do them as they were intended. Heck, the whole point of the daily is to promote going to other zones. :p

So yeah, go wherever you like. And have fun :D

I'm actually going through on my Level 35 toon and slowly doing all the starter zones, it's great XP.

So here's a thought.

We’re coming here to retrieve whatever remains of her magical corpus, so that her sacred bones won’t fall into the wrong hands. Dragons consume magic, but they do not destroy it. They hold it within themselves like a sponge holds water. I only hope we’re faster than the scavengers and power-mongers who would use her body to advance their own evil or selfish plots.

If a dragon like Glint, arguably very very old (She's said to be the first creature placed onto Tyria by the Human Gods), and her bones are positively drenched in magic... How powerful are the remains of the Elder Dragon we just supposedly killed? After sleeping under and ruling over Orr, arguably the most magic-drenched, artifact-littered piece of real estate in the known world, how sparkly are his remains? After having a ton of Mouths of Zhaitan basically chowing down on any magical item they could find for over a hundred years after he rose Orr to the surface?

Makes me mighty curious...

Considering it "unchains" him per se... I think it's worth more than you think.

I figured that's what you meant but did a single player assume he would never be involved in anything ever again? I'm just saying it's pretty vague and I feel you wouldn't miss a thing if you never spoke to him. That said, it's cool in general to update character dialogue to make it feel like the world is developing a little on some level. I just feel like they could have threw us a little teaser in his dialogue that implies something in particular.

Really hope Anet can nail Living Story. All the fundamentals are there - the underlying systems, the player base. They just have to execute. It's a potential genre changer.

4/4 on mission make ups everyone. Thanks all who came, especially those who didn't need commendations.

Thanks for taking care of these. I decided to do something extra with the OT that took a little longer than usual, but is really really cool.

Thanks! I had a great time, first time through any kind of guild mission too.

I was particularly fond of the armed-to-the-teeth escort making sure those cubs got to where they needed to be.

Those Charr cubs can at least where they're going in a straight line. Quaggans, on the other hand, try to headbutt as many Krait as they can find while making their escape.

Wow, suddenly the this update got a lot more interesting than it already was. Really looking forward to where this progresses.

That seems to be their pattern; the first release of the month sets the overall tone and establishes the plot threads behind the events (Southsun, Dragon Bash, Bazaar) and the second release hammers down on it (Last Stand at Southsun, Sky Pirates, ???).

Using the go-to metaphor of a TV show, it's like the first release is everything up to the first commercial, and the second update is the build up of drama, the climax. With the Sky Pirates update, the resolution was held back to the weekend too, like after the last commercial right before the credits. I think they'll probably follow that format, it beats the slow burn of Flame and Frost.

Lol, no you don't. You were on your ass most of the time...unless you mean so we can spot you quicker and res you.
