Not even the dream team of Mario & Luigi can dislodge ‘The Last of Us’ (-43%) from the top spot as it holds on to No1 for a 5th consecutive week.

If it makes it to six consecutive weeks at No1, then it will equal the unbroken runs of ‘Black Ops II’ and ‘FIFA 12’. Nintendo have a dream team of a different kind with their 3DS titles ‘Animal Crossing: New Leaf’ (-26%) and newcomer ‘Mario and Luigi: Dream Team Bros.’ together at No2 and No3 respectively. ‘FIFA 13’ (-31%) makes way, down one place to No4, while ‘Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition’ (-54%) slips from No2 to No5. ‘Far Cry 3’ (+18%) swaps places with ‘Assassin’s Creed III’ (-25%) as Ubisoft’s top title this week, up from No10 to No6, while Assassin’s Creed III drops from No5 to No8.

‘Black Ops II’ (-16%) looks comfortable at No7 for a second week (3rd add-on pack Vengeance debuted on 360 from July 2nd), while ‘Tomb Raider’ (-24%) clings on at No9. Budget-priced ‘Aliens: Colonial Marines’ (+36%) jumps back into the Top 10, up from No22 to No10. Second add-on ‘Civilization V: Brave New World’ debuts at No39 and No2 in the PC Full Price Chart.

PAL Charts - Week 24, 2013
PAL Charts - Week 25, 2013
PAL Charts - Week 26, 2013
PAL Charts - Week 27, 2013

TLoU and AC is doing very well, TLoU seems very good marketed considering my mom reacted to the ps3 picture overlay (the picture with ellie and joel) asking if it was that X game she had seen.

Eight 3DS games in the top 40, that's got to be the most it's had since..ever?

Launch week, it had 10 titles. Then, two weeks after that, no titles anymore for a long, long, loooooooong time. So much that Nintex created the joke "So, when's 3DS comin' out in UK, yo?"

wauw..

PlayStation dominated a decent month for UK games retail in June.

PS3 was the best selling console, The Last of Us the No.1 game, while Sony was the most successful publisher.

For the first time in years, more PS3 titles were sold last month than on any other platform. PS3 had a software market share (by value) of over 40 per cent, says GfK Chart-Track.

The success is largely down to Sony’s hugely successful new IP, The Last of Us. The game comfortably beat Animal Crossing: New Leaf to top the monthly charts. Grid 2 was the best-selling Xbox 360 game.

It was a decent month for games sales, overall. 1.85m units were sold, which is down 13.2 per cent over June 2012, but up 46 per cent over May 2013. In total stores took £44.5m from software alone.

last of us has no competition whatsoever, it could stay number one till fifa 14 lol (and its no coincidence that sony released it at this time lets face it)

Last Week:
The Last of Us (SCE) - Over 15,339 - Under 20,814 / Over 171,444 - Under 232,659

Animal Crossing New Leaf (Nintendo) - Over 7,828 - Under 11,981 / Over 66,123 - Under 101,356
That would put the weekly numbers of TLoU roughly between 9,000 - 11,500 (-43%) and AC at 6'000 - 8'500 (-26%), meaning M&L4 debuted lower than that.

Do they include 3DS between consoles or consider handhelds separately. Asking because MCV reported this, when dealing with this week's chart

http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/the-last-of-us-is-no-1-again/0118600

There was one game of note out this week, Nintendo RPG Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros. The 3DS game makes No.3 and continues the fine run of decent games for the handheld platform, which has enjoyed a big uptick in sales thanks to a string of big releases.

Good stuff to TLOU but I am really impressed with GOW:A continuing to stay charting months after release.

It's been £15 everywhere for ages, like Tomb Raider.

I'm not sure if it was a good thing for Sony and Square Enix to discount either of them so quickly.

GOW has been getting a lot of content and patches post release so I am assuming its audience is active.

Congrats to TLOU for keeping top spot but sales must be abysmal at the moment for that to still be number one at a 43% drop. Interesting to see PS3 get the top console; shows a big turnaround in the UK.

Dat Luigis 2 Mansion Jump...Year of Luigi indeed.

Will be very interesting when Nintendo come round to revealing the Pal hardware sales for Q2. 3DS has to have made some serious moves.

Well them being in the charts ever since suggests it is a good thing?

I know there's a price difference to factor in there as well, but I imagine it's one of those situations where lots of copies consistently at £15 is far, far more lucrative than dropping out of the charts after 2 weeks and never coming back again at £40.

What the hell was released in June 2012. TLOU being the hit it is in the UK but the month is still weaker than last year's.

Lollipop Chainsaw!

May 2012 was a relatively strong month for releases, so I expect that carried over into June. Diablo 3, Max Payne 3, Dragon's Dogma, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and a few others I'm forgetting.

Wii and DS stuff was still charting a bit too which has dropped of completely.

@Mpl90 Oh yes, handheld sales (software and hardware) are well behind console

Eh, got the confirmation. Kind of a generical answer: it's obvious consoles sales are much more than handhelds sales, since there's only 3DS alive now XD

Despite the success of high profile 3DS titles I imagine its still way behind both HD twins. Catalog sales on X360 are undoubtedly much much bigger.

3DS had Animal Crossing bundles and saw a "big uptick in sales", as said by the same author of that article when commenting this week's charts. So, I'd say there are big possibilities it was the second best selling platform in June. It would have been first without The Last of Us, that game really boosted PS3 in UK, it seems.

Almost forgetting: Project x Zone v.s. other recent "niche" Namco releases in UK

Having a big uptick in sales doesn't necessarily mean it overtook the 360 unless there's indication that the 3DS sales were pretty close to 360 sales before this big uptick.

This speaks well for Tales of Xillia.

Thats how much the TLoU did (top end of the approximation) this week.

I would imagine that, of the people buying Vita games, those buying physical copies are in the minority.

Maybe, but considering the price of memory cards i wouldn't take it as a certainty. Anyway, howdoes the bomba situation look like for wiiu games for people over there? You would think 1 or 2 games would sneak into the bottom of the top 40 with sales being in the hundreds.
