Well...

So...this show is pretty much all sex jokes and tampons, I guess..

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

This is a show where you have to wonder what would happen if the MC actually tried to go forward with banging them.

Eureka Seven Astral Ocean 24

I can't. Make it stop. It hurts.

I'm vaguely impressed that you managed to get through those last three episodes without once specifically complaining about Renton having Holland's voice (unless you did mention that and I somehow missed it?). That was the worst part of it for me.

Fujyoshi power!

Also, the Dark Knight Rises. I hope this means a sequel series in three years time.

Yami Shibai - 1-3
The effectiveness of these short horror stories told in less than five minutes is debatable, but the paper cut-out style and the weird dubstep ED are quite special.

Hell if I know; I'm probably one of the only people here not watching the show.

*checks*

Well, the animation is the same, but it looks like there's different dialogue compared to the TV previews, which is more or less useless to most people here.

Fine then, I'll stop posting them. Didn't realize I was wasting my time on something everyone's already seen.

I just experienced AO through CorvoSol's pain and suffering.

By not watching it all the way through for myself, I can just pretend that it doesn't exist. =)

Ah, well, you see
I watched E7 dubbed, so Holland's JA VA wasn't immediately identifiable to me.
But that does make things much, much worse.

Lucky.

Ah, that would explain it.

(For shame.)

The dub was pretty good. Knowing they used Holland's voice, though, that basically completes the rape of Renton's character. I mean Renton was anything but cool in the classic sense, and Holland is all about deconstructing cool, and then they merge Renton and Holland (down to their hair), and make Renton behave like Holland in the worst way possible.

In fact, I think the worst part of this is that the final battle of Astral Ocean is ripped directly from Pocket Full of Rainbows. The Nirvash chase scene into the atmosphere with Holland throwing a tantrum at the Renton character and then a baby magically solves the problems for him.

Making Renton into Holland is wrong.

I hate this show so much.

Remember the BushiRoad anime? No? Well it was some ancient crossmedia mecha anime project involving a ton of companies including Gainax at the time which never got made. Instead the company formed for the project ended up doing merchandising and shit in the industry for the past decade. Well, now it's BACK!

Neppu Kairiku BishiRoad

Concept/Chief Supervisor: Takaaki Kidani
Original Work: Sunao Yoshida
Director: Masayuki Sakoi
Script: Norimitsu Kaiho
Character Design: Sinov Mimori/Mai Toda
Main Mecha Design: Niθ
Production Committee: BishiRoad/Bandai Visual/Kinema Citrus/Nitroplus

Looks like Kinema Citrus is going to be behind this. After Code:Breaker and Yuyushiki, I'm sure they'll do a good job with a mecha show. :)

Yay, Kinema Citrus in October! Looking forward to it, whatever it is!

Is Bushiroad the big mega mix franchise that trumpeted the fact that the Trinity Blood author was going to write the screenplays, only for him to die very shortly afterwards?

I hate quitting on series at the middle (I finished SAO for crying it loud) so I'm finishing Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru. I have a hate/love relationship with this. Sometimes is good fun and I kinda like the characters, but I hate high school drama in any kind or form and some situations in this series are a bit too close to my experience for being comfortable with. Meh, will just watch the final episode and be done with it, let's see how it ends...

Edit:

SNAFU 13

Heh, that was a nice ending, I was expecting some melodramatic final, but it was quite the contrary. I don't mind it not getting any kind of closure, I feel it is fitting actually

So yeah, massively overestimated by the Amazon stalker points. Split is 37,339 Blu-ray and 19,454 DVD.

Do note that while the w1 total for SnK vol.1 didn't beat UtaPri's to-date total, it did beat its w1 total (54,460), making it the best first week debut for Spring so far.

God damn those Attack on Titan numbers. Reaching Gundam SEED/Bakemonogatari tier.

It wasn't just him. Gainax was also involved, Kou Yoshinari was going to do the character designs, Anno was going to be in charge of some animation or something. Then it all fell apart. But now it's BACK! :D

That guy is still credited with the original concept though, but it looks like Nitroplus is going to pick up the slack when it comes to the writing.

Tragic victim of fan death
So should I read the E7 Movie synopsis on Wiki or something?

How do you fuck something like that up.

I have no idea. Did Corvo also catch the
movie-tie
in at episode 22? lol. Also he knows that we had to wait for months after the end of episode 22, right?

So about my question about Dangropa yesterday? Get on PSP or wait for Vita version?

It's kind of difficult to tell at this stage since the Vita version isn't available anywhere in the world as yet. I don't think the game will benefit from HD graphics much (it's an ADV after all) and the additional modes that the Vita version apparently has don't appeal to me at all - I don't find the social link stuff in Dangan Ronpa to be very interesting so the prospect of being able to date the characters or whatever doesn't appeal, although I guess for others that may be a draw.

The fan translation is excellent. It is, however, illegal.

So essentially, if you want it now, import, rip, patch etc. If you feel you can wait, then wait. I don't think there's anything to make the Vita version a must purchase, but the game, while good, is hardly an OMG NEED IT NOW title so the faff of the steps to get it playable on your PSP probably aren't worth it.

Doesn't the Vita version contain both games plus some minigame addition to the first game? I don't see how that isn't a better deal than the PSP game where you can only play the first one in English right now.

The English release will only be Dangan Ronpa 1, but you're right that the Japanese release has both. And the minigame thing is some dating sim add-on, which frankly I don't give a toss about :)

This was a really fun episode. I especially enjoy the throwaway sight gags, like "PopTV" being MTV, or the Conveniently Empty Building or Shrapnel and Gun powder depot. The end credits are always nice like this, too, with us finally seeing Kiva lighten up a bit playing DDR. Speaking of, Megas' manual mode being DDR with the accompanying engrish was funny, too. Jamie pointing out that they'd entered a giant robot into an auto show was good, but took second place to the fact that everyone in Jersey is okay with giant robots and also space aliens and time travelers. Which they should be. It IS Jersey, after all.

I think Tessa does a better job when her character is focused on being captain and not being Sousuke's love interest. In Sigma
her downward spiral as she struggles to keep herself and the last remnants of Mythril together is especially good, since Tessa shows signs of what being a child soldier should be doing to her.
On the other hand, I really prefer Kaname WITH Sousuke, since their interactions are the heart and soul of the series. It isn't until The Second Raid and Sigma we even see Kaname without Sousuke.

Mao is best girl because she's awesome whether they tease her and Sousuke or not.
And that moment where Sousuke offers to have sex with her is still the best cliffhanger in Sigma.

Iirc all the PopTV jokes you'll see are because MTV fucked over the shows creators in one way or another and all of the gags are their "fuck you"

And here I was thinking that the game would sell fine because it contains the sequel as well which isn't fan-translated yet. Oh well, I guess since NISA already dabbles in the anime market, they should know what it feels like to be selling something which everyone can already pirate months before it's out! Hope it works out for them. :p

Tomodachi wa Mahou
Majestic Prince: Episode 1 to uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

The dialogue of the show comes straight out of a cereal box. Words can't say it's terrible but you can't say it's good either. Which is a shame since it looks like alot of work went into making it but the execution is so.... lacking. Only redeeming factors are the artstyle is surprisingly addictive. The switch from "traditional anime" faces to cartoon-like expressions is likeable (or adorable?). And there's fanservice but the show feels so hollow like you're watching nothing most of the time. Think I'm going to be bailing out soon.

I hope you stuck around for 14.

10,11,14,15 are the good episodes so far. The show is generally shit but if you stick around you might enjoy it.

It's basically a mode that lets you finish off any of the Persona-style "social links" that you didn't manage to complete in the course of the main game. It's quite helpful if you're at all interested in that content, because of course it's incredibly easy to get screwed out of finishing the SLs in the main game when characters are dying left right and centre.

While it's theoretically possible to go back and complete all of them by replaying chapters, it's also a massive pain in the ass, and I don't think I ever finished a lot of the characters' SLs in the first game as a result. I very much appreciated the inclusion of this bonus mode in Danganronpa 2, which let me efficiently work my way through the ones I'd missed with none of that stress.

Wait, really? They're cutting out half the game?

Well, the Japanese version is basically an HD re-release bundling the two games that were previously released separately. Since the original versions were never released individually in English, it doesn't make much business sense to do the same for the English market when each individual game is plenty big enough to justify full price on its own (and including both would double the localisation work, which is going to be pretty hefty for these games anyway).

I'd only start complaining if the second game doesn't get a release at all, because that would really suck.

Picked up Plastic Little for the infamous JIGGLE COUNTER so i can watch it the way "Jeezus" intended. However, it was bundled with Burn Up!, which looks to be the beginning of a four part series that'd be right up chet's alley going by the tagline alone.
