Even though I played a ton of multiplayer with off-screen play, please tone down the dual analog aim assist this time.

I'm actually interested in this iteration, primarily because I can play it online for free (unlike Xbox 360). I might get this if it goes on sale during Black Friday, but $60 is definitely a no, especially if patch/DLC support is lacking.

I'll wait to see multiplayer footage. I'm glad treyarch will be handling this though. Only downside is dlc may never make it to the Wii U version similar to Black Ops 2.

If I do get this, that's an if, I really need to pay attention as to what the third mode (the non-story and competitive mode) is going to be. I enjoyed Survival Mode in Modern Warfare 3. However I don't really care for Zombies in Black Ops 2 all that much. Mainly because with survival I found that I didn't have to do the same run around in a circle gameplay. I could vary things up. Or at least it seemed that I could. I never got that I could do that in Zombies in either BO1 or BO2. Survival mode just felt my style and I really wish I had kept the game for it.

I'm done with competitive multiplayer I think at this point. I've finally uninstalled Battlefield 3 and Black Ops 1. About to get rid of PlanetSide 2 too. Rather play against the game or team up with others to take down the game. Don't really care to much about playing against others when it comes to shooters.

Mario won't be out yet.

However, CoD releases a week before Donkey Kong AND Mario & Sonic.

Sent to die :p

I don't know if you are joking but that is pretty much true. I think Watch Dogs,Disney Infinity, Batman, lego movie ,and Rayman are the 3rd party multplats that have the best chance of getting decent sales on the Wii U.The cod bridge was burned for many with the way they treat announcing the game ( did with Wii too) and the historic lack of dlc being offered.

This is some bullshit and you know it.

Why would it be bullshit, lol? I still have a close to 80% hit ratio with the sniper rifle in Conduit 2 on Wii (78 and something to be precise). I actually stopped playing because a) not many people play it online anymore and b) it stopped being challenging.

IR pointer controls are definitely superior to Dual Analog by a good margin.

Sorry a bit off topic.

I love my PS3 and I don´t like PS+ because I want control over what I own and don´t want to have a fixed payment for things that I may like but some I won´t.

How come has PS4´s online paywall gone under the radar. That has affected my decision at least but I see most GAF getting a PS4 preorder. I rather spend that on a nice PC and get a PS4 later cheaper and with no intentions of playing online.

I will delay my decision a bit to see what happens.

Going to get COD Ghosts for sure on Wii U. I am also a casual COD player and I suck at the game, but I have fun. Hope that mature tools help to have a good version for Wii U.

I was trying to be vague with my "around the launch of CoD" comment :). I'd be up for giving the Wii U version of this game a shot but not instead of the games I bought my Wii U for. Can't wait for 1080p Zelda, for realsies.

For someone who isn't a CoD player, what does this number mean?

Number of played MP's that day, number of Unique NNID's logged online that day, number of unique gamecopies?
Number of unique NNID's to complete at least one match all-time I think. (unless it also counts those who logged into online but never completed a match).

Day 1

Why?

Wii Remote controls.

Same here.

The lure of off screen play whilst the family were using the TV was too mutch for me and I used the gamepad instead of wiimote for blops 2. The wife will be back on night shift when ghosts comes out and I'm looking forward to playing with wiimote again.

Will buy day 1, have put in loads and loads of hours of couch play with friends in both split-screen and gamepad play. There are loads of customation options both for classes and for gameplay. They don't get enough credit for providing one hell of a offline experience.

It has one severe flaw and that is that is does not let you create guest accounts so your guests and just login and used there own classes and controls. My friends always have to change the controls and fix up the classes before we start to play. Gotten so we just say that class 3 is for guests and I don't use that slot.

But other then that you can fix so only headshots count, change the number of points you get to make uber-classes if you want to and just to much more to list it all.

If they just fix that guest account system in this years edition I will even buy the collectors edition to salute them.

So worst case scenario, ~14900 BLOPS2 copies sold (12 NNID's per Wii U) or best case scenario 178497 BLOPS2 copies sold?
If the latter seems like the game should have been a profit thing for Activision, even though sales dwarfs the PS360 versions.

Wii remote support: check

Off TV play: Check

Free online: Check

Treyarch porting: Check

That's all I need to buy this version of Call of Duty. The weirdest part is the way this imminent announcement was made. Too late and with Treayarch behind the wheel of the Wii U port, what's the problem with infinity ward and Nintendo consoles anyway.

Hey guys, totally stoked because I'm loving Blops 2 Wii U! So glad to hear it's confirmed as you can't assume anything on Wii U where Third Parties are concerned.

I'm trying to keep up with this thread but it's moving at a good clip and real life keeps happening. Is there a list of the NNiD for Blops2 players? I'm "Horseticuffs" on there, too. Let's get our Codblops on!

I'm intrigued by the Wii remote support and off-TV play, but the lack of DLC and lack of players kills it. I couldn't play some modes on Wii U's BO2 until a month post-launch. Even now the community is hilariously small.

The Wii CoD games were markedly better in terms of available modes; even now BO1 on Wii generally seems to have (at least when I've checked) 3-4x the players online as Wii U BO2.

It's an install base issue. If Ghosts can't significantly grow the average online numbers from BO2, I'd definitely worry about future support. Need to AT LEAST double the numbers, minimum, otherwise we're in trouble (and that might still not be enough).

FYI to anyone wondering, in BO2, modes that are ALWAYS playable are TDM, HCTDM, FFA, KC, Domination. HCFFA usually could have matches before they removed that playlist. Everything else is pretty spotty, and the e-league stuff is a wasteland.

if you had both the wii u and ps4, would you still get wii u version? I can understand getting cod on wii u if you plan to only own one console for sure.

People already explained why they like to play COD on the Wii U. Everyone has their own preferences. Read those posts.

As has been said over and over, people may want off-TV play, co-op without splitting screen, IR aiming, etc.

Can we (in general, not just you the guy I'm quoting) stop with this "why would anyone EVER want a Wii U version of a multiplat" nonsense already?

you listed the advantages, but how about the disadvantages? Like a small community or the fact that it might not get DLC like blops2 didnt.

it is cute to only list the positives things i guess.

They were not selling you Ghosts on Wii U, they just explained why some people would want it.

These Wii U threads attact all types of anger from people wanting it to fail. People on GAF- Gaming aren’t stupid. They know what they like and what they don’t. Coming here and trying to convince people that the Wii U version will be subpar without the game being out is pointless. I mean we dont have anything to compare it too! Enjoy that a system will be getting a game so at launch day we can talk about it as well (or complain). If it is announced that we won’t get DLC, then we will cross that bridge when we get to it. For now let us Wii U owners enjoy the victory. Remember, its the little things that count right now.

It's not that hard.

There are only 2 things you need to consider:

- configure the settings (deadzone, turning speed, sensitivity) to your own needs

- practise a couple of matches with it.

That's it! It will become second nature very soon, and you will be surprise how fast and accurate you'll be able to move your cursor while playing from the couch.

If Dual Analog is a 5 and Keyboard/Mouse is a 10, pointer controls, when configured proberly, are easily an 8.

Especially sniping is much much better with it.
That said, the Move is actually much better for FPS than the Wii-mote ever was. Killzone 3 with Move is absolutely sublime.

The problem with the move is drift. This doesn't happen with IR. What's so much better about the move for FPS?

In terms of reaction time and reliability? No. It's basically the same as WM+ aiming which is also inferior to IR aiming because of drift.

As far as stability goes, nothing so far has surpassed Red Steel 2, which uses both IR and Motion Plus but the Move is coming close in that regard.
