There's more about the game and their Rezzed session at the link.

Eurogamer said:
"We are preparing to go to consoles," he told me at Rezzed 2013, "without officially announcing anything. We are keen on getting this game to as many people as possible.

"The game works extremely well in a TV/couch scenario - it's a perfect game for that.

"We're building a game that has cross-platform technology anyway, so I think the chances are extremely good that we'll land on one or both of the next-gen consoles."

Xbox One:

Eurogamer said:
"We have started dialogue with Microsoft, yeah," he said. "The Xbox One and Microsoft, they get a lot of flack, but it's still an extremely interesting platform for us, obviously, and it's going to be huge.

PlayStation 4:

Eurogamer said:
"I've officially also said that Sony is a lot more inviting and welcoming to indie developers, so it's a lot easier for us to start that dialogue and get support. It is a bit harder with Microsoft but it's not like we're excluding anything.

"The PlayStation 4 is definitely an interesting platform for us right now
," he stressed.

Wii U:

Eurogamer said:
And what about the prospect of Dreamfall Chapters on Wii U?

"We are also in dialogue with Nintendo. We're going to be looking at it," he answered. "We can't make any promises because the the Wii U, it's underpowered compared to the next-gen consoles and PC obviously - I don't think that's a secret or Nintendo would get upset at me.

"We're going to look at getting the game running on Wii U and then we'll make decisions depending on how that goes and what we see the market possibilities are doing. Like I said, we don't want to exclude anything, so we'll try anything."

Tablets:

Eurogamer said:
Tablet versions are a possibility too, but they'll have to wait.

"We are going to go to tablets, yeah," he confirmed.

"It does exist in some form for iOS but it hasn't been released. But with Chapters we are taking the game to mobile platforms after the desktop and console versions because it is an interesting game for tablet format but we don't want to just do a straight port - that would be very hard also. We want it to work well with a touch-screen interface not the virtual joystick kind of thing."

Dreamfall Chapters on phones is probably not going to happen because although it's technically possible in Unity, a poor frame-rate, relatively tiny screen and cramped controls will make the experience one Ragnar Tornquist doesn't want fans to have.

Great, I'll definitely check their games out. I'm not willing to spend actual money since I don't buy games from a developer I don't trust unless they are dirt cheap, but if they ever get on PS+ I'll give them a chance.

I see.

If it's the same game they sending to tablets and not some gimped iOS version then yeah, hilariously hypocritical of them.

Yeah, they do say:

But I read that as changing the game's interface and controls to work with a tablet touchscreen from a controller.

Not sure when this game will release on PS4/Xbox, but even with Wii U's poor sales, it seems like it will have an install base comparable to PS4/Xbox at least until Fall of 2014. And Wii U currently has a decent attach rate.

I think Nintendo has a deal for Unity support and a free license for devs, so yeah... dunno. I guess it's more of a perception thing.

You should check out The Longest Journey then. Protip: it's awesome.

"And we're also looking at other investment sources, because $1.5m, that was great, it gives us a lot of freedom and a lot of leverage and lot of time, but it's not enough to get the game finished. But we know that we can get that money."

Then how the hell were you expecting to do a game with $850k?

They had funding from their government I think.

I know they've received ~400k from the Norwegian Film Institute and that's on top of the ~1.5 million from Kickstarter.

My question remains: How the hell were they going to make that game with 850k?

Might be hard to get into these days but only really the 3D models look meh cause 2D backgrounds are still glorious. Adventure games are like my favourite genre, and TLJ is my favourite one of those, so fuck yeah it's awesome.

So how´s this going to effect the PC version, the game people kickstarted? Ragnar Törnqvist stated on twitter that they won't use kickstarter money, but will this mean that the PC version is going to be delayed if they'r also doing 2-3 console versions?

You actually believe that RTG will manage to release the game simultaneously on PC, Linux and MAC including tablets, Xbox One and PS4?

I'm not worried:

Great. Now go and do a TLJ remake for tablets, consoles and Steam of course.

And by "remake" I mean render the backgrounds and movies in 1080p and be done with it.

Can't be done, since they don't have the rights to do that.

If their games can reach more people then I'm all for it. Still playing on PC though.

I had no idea what this IP was all about until yesterday. I'm a sucker for narrative so needless to say that my interest is piqued. Plus, I'm always on the lookout for good games that don't star a middle aged white guy.

And why is that?

The rights are owned by Funcom, not Red Thread. Funcom only gave them the rights to make a sequel, not to touch their previous creations. They have stated repeatedly that even if they wanted to do it, they wouldn't be able to.

We'll be hearing this a lot, I'd wager.

That is kind of why I found it interesting that apparently Nintendo were the first to approach them.

At a glance, it almost seems desperate... but this ain't a Nintendo hate thread and I'm probably wrong.

So yeah, I got Dreamfall in the mail. It's got TLJ included in the box. Can't wait to see what these games have to offer.

I actually didn't even read that comment until after I posted this, so it was even more interesting :P
