How come we aren't talking about devs being able to write directly to the metal!? \m/
Maybe I haven't had enough caffeine this morning but I don't even know what that means.

It means you can get rid of your spoon/straw and make your coffee drinking more efficiency.

I always found it interesting how the only information he "leaks" is just negative information AFAIK

The Sony "leakers" are all unabashed fanboys and tend to leak positive news. Sony is using them smartly.

The Microsoft "leaker" is a disgruntled supposed employee who only leaks negative news. Microsoft needs to step up their game.

6%? No, 53Mhz doesn't even make sense either. What was the point, spec wars?

On this team, we fight for that inch
On this team, we tear ourselves, and everyone around us
to pieces for that inch.
We CLAW with our finger nails for that inch.
Cause we know
when we add up all those inches
that's going to make the fucking difference
between WINNING and LOSING
between LIVING and DYING.

While it is nice to see a little bump to the specs, seeing Microsoft shuffling around changing specs and polices at the last minute does not inspire confidence in their launch. In fact, it is making me even more leery. They simply do not have their shit together at all and it is making them look desperate and clueless, rather than confident and with everyone on the same page working towards a unified vision.

oh you mean like Sony shuffling around the amount of ram available to games at the last minute? That kind of thing?

For the new page:

They maybe could. But for what?
54MHz is nothing.
They already have the better hardware / Their GPU part is already a good bit stronger.
They don't need this / better cooling is more important

Cboat was certainly on point about the bidet of tears.

So, can the RAM bump up still happen if this ended up being legit? I'd love whatever MS still has time to beef up the system.

Wait, so is he saying they're meeting the original TF number with the clock bump rather than the machine getting a TF bump from the clock increase? Meaning they weren't hitting the original number to begin with? Does the math even work out on that?

No. No. No. :)

The only thing MS could improve on the RAM side of things is increase allocation for games and decrease for OS, which they probably would do anyway down the line.

IF the final devkits indeed have 12GB of RAM they could, IN THEORY, use the devkit boards for production. I highly doubt it though

On GPU 6% isn't bad. Especially considering everything is on the same die and it can't be loud like a dedicated gpu.

That's what a lot of vendors do on some of their cards. A very slight overclock.
