Hope I can grab a PS4 at launch with this, won't need anything else.

BF4 is the one game I will get straight away that will give me a year of multiplayer

Don't really like the over-abundance of grey and subdued colour palette, but the trailer was very well done and made the game seem very exiting and action packed.

One of the few games where I could honestly care less about the single-player component. However, if it ends up being great, more power to DICE.

Still no dynamic time of day it seems :(
Position of the sun when the storm appeared stayed exactly the same and the lighting change was faked with color grading.

Unless they let you turn off the lens flares, the color grading and the greyscale low hp shit and they improve the netcode (by leaps and bounds) I'm very skeptical of this game.

any enjoyment I could have weened from bf3 was ruined by the constant fight with the lack of visibility and contrast.
Should've called it battlesquint.

Has there been any word on how the servers will be handled in BF4? I hated when BF3 got rid of official EA run games and now all I can find are private matches with insane ticket counts and whatnot.

Don't see why it would be any different.

I'm pissed they announced premium here and not at E3. Now I can't get a discount from the Future Shop E3 sale :( Guess it's a birthday code again

Battlefield 4 looks great, 64 players with 60 fps is actually going to make the (next-gen) console versions worthwhile.

I have this nagging feeling however that once again you'll only be able to completely level a few minor structures: you saw one collapse in the trailer. It might be constrained by the environments they are using in the various maps: they either look like dense cities or more natural environments. In one the structures are too big to take down outside of canned animations in the other there's a lack of structures.

I just REALLY hope destruction hasn't been held back because of technology from 2005 in current gen consoles.

What makes you think that?
I mean as opposed to someone actually controlling it and crashing it onto the shore. Seems like the storm, lightning and windmills trigger the ship's crash. Similar to how destroying 4 pillars on the skyscraper on the other map triggers a scripted collapse of the building. Or the tower on Caspian Border falling down when the ticket count gets too low.
