The Wonderful 101 |OT| Diplomacy has failed

In anticipation for the game to come out in NA, I decided to upload Kamiya's shirt from that Iwata Asks that I worked on to RedBubble. I figured I'd keep it up there for two weeks or so if anyone is interested.

Just Click the Picture
TO BE PERFECTLY CLEAR: I don't make anything off of this. At all. I just made this available after I saw how many people were posting how much they wanted Kamiya's shirt in that thread.

Collecting gears makes the Mario coin sound and witch time is in through hero time custom block. And even the moon sign. Ridiculous once you get used to the game. It's probably the strangest game kamiya ever made

Hmmm, I think they're the best part, problem is only when you don't know how to damage the boss it gets stupid. The game does need to be more transparent about it's mechanics.

Definitely. I think the enemies are pretty good at communicating when they are attacking, but the camera makes it really easy to lose any kind of overview of what is going on.

What? Granted I only played the first operation yet, but the first boss was by far the most fun part yet.

I think they fall apart very quickly and become incredibly mundane. The boss fights and the "jump, run away while stuff is exploding" and other non-main game stuff is not as interesting as the core gameplay.

They really need to release the shirt in all the colors of the primary Wonderful Ones

The great thing is the game just keeps getting better and better as you keep going. The demo only hints as to how utterly mad and crazy this game is. If a game ever truly lived up to it's title then this is it. It is indeed wonderful.

Glad I'm not the only one searching Wonderful 101, sort by Upload Date.

Holy HELL some people suck at this game. end of the fourth operation, still don't know to blow physical attacks or even read visual cues. Here's a hint, when the big fuckin' turtle does that really slow "i'm pounding the ground with fire around my foot", FIRE IS ABOUT TO COME OUT OF THE GROUND, DODGE MOTHAFUCKA DODGE

It's for that very reason I refuse to watch anything past the end of Operation 1. I'm even skipping videos of the Prologue.

At the very least, the majority of people putting up videos actually checked the Wonderful Mart at the beginning of the game and bought the Block and Dodge right away.

what are the platinum neons jetons/coins good for?

the game once told me that something wonderful (heh!) would happen and that they are rare.

I keep collecting them. ..

Oh my god, what is wrong with reviewers? The controls are 100% perfect. I'm having zero issues inputing commands and whenever I do fail it's completely because I didn't have to presence of mind to correctly direct my input combinations aka "I need more practice".

The combat has really clicked after buying the speed liner and treating the glyph inputs like fighting game motions with the right stick. It's definitely the way to go, the platinums are starting to come in regularly. Absolutely loving the game. I think this could give Bayo 2 a run for it's money at the end of the day.

This game is so good but it would be so much better if the frame rate was a smooth 60. Damn you Platinum and your excessively actiony games!

Anyone using custom part Ukemi? It says press jump before taking damage but I have no idea what it does and how to use it, though I have accidently activated it a few times. Hrmph.

When you're about to get hit, press jump to nullify the damage.

Currently on Operation 5-B, and I gotta say this is the most exhilarating games i've ever played, easily a masterpiece in my book.

But I only have one gripe with the game, and it's that the game struggles to keep that sexy 60FPS on a reoccurring boss fight. It's kinda a long battle as well (well for me at least) so it's kinda annoying battling whilst it stay's around 35-45FPS (just a guess but it was quite choppy), was kind of a buzz kill to be honest as I kept on getting my ass kicked whilst trying to deal with the lag.

The Wonderful 101 is a rarity; everything combines to make something very special. It doesn’t take itself seriously - a increasing trend these days - it just sets out to make a brilliant game. It has succeeded.

And despite the similarities it may share with Bayonetta, it’s hard to see The Wonderful 101 as anything other than original, inventive and fresh. It’s unusual to come across such a thing in the games industry these days, so make the most of it while you can.

You get a lot of game for your money. From what we can tell, Kamiya’s estimate of 20 hours for a first playthrough is about right, and the awards (from Pure Platinum all the way down to an insulting ‘Consolation Prize’) handed out for missions and individual fights will motivate many to return. Beyond that are separate levels in the mission mode, gruelling challenges for up to five players that will soon teach you how good you really are at this game (all difficulties in Story offer infinite continues, so far as we can tell). This is a rough diamond destined for cult status, with its beauty clear to see despite some ugly edges.

Yeah, that's what it says on the description but they don't show you what it looks like when you use it so I was very confused when a mini cut scene popped up on activation (the game is already bat shit insane enough without having to throw in extra cut scenes!). I'm probably timing it wrong which is why I'm messing it up. Thanks though.

I did find a video of Hero Counter fortunately.

How about the framerate besides that boss???

Any major issues or is it usually very good???

Also in Bayonetta. All bayo bracelets are present as custom blocks.

Awesome, forgot that was a Bayo thing too. I'm assuming its the hero counter from the vid above. Next purchase confirmed.

Platinum card thing is new isn't it? It's a good idea. Rewards you for not dumping resources into items and lets you grab expensive stuff without having to save up.

honestly, for a nintendo-funded game I really wasn't expecting to need to restart a chapter due to game-breaking bugs.

I would have thought the super-debuggers would have debugged this out the ass like I've come to expect in a nintendo game, very confused as to why there seems to be so many bugs.

we discussed this a while ago in another thread. the miiverse manual mentions what makes up that number. it's amount of posts and also yeahs.

as far asbi know it's the number of unique id's who have posted in that thread. Not the total number of posts. (which had to be far far higher)

Edit: Sorry for DP. Posting from the U.

You seem to be the first one to have found them. Please elaborate.

I find myself debating on this and pikmin. For those that have played both which would u recommend?

That's a tough call. What I can tell you is that they are COMPLETELY different games.

Pikmin is relaxed, and the challenge is in planning and multitasking. Has tons of charm. Most common complain is that it's a bit easy to make a full run (the challenge is in playing through in low number of days and low/zero pikmin lost). Controls are straightforward, game is easy to learn.

This game is fast paced action all the way. It will kick your ass from the start on normal, and you really have to pay attention and work on your controls to master it. When you do though, you'll feel like a greek god :)

Both are absolute must haves in my book

Would be nice if you could name them.

After the part when you first fight lambo, when the guy appears with a baseball bat.

I killed the guy but he didn't drop the bat at all, I spent about ten minutes waiting for another one to respawn or something because I remembered seeing the trailer with them using the baseball bat, but another guy never came so I had to click retry, which sent me back to the part where you have to suck up spike balls and shoot them at the anti-air gun. He dropped the bat that time.

I've also had my knocked down heros never get up for some reason, no matter what I tried (which isn't game breaking, but it's another thing I wouldn't have thought to see)

You can also do the parts where the game freezes and gets you to do a certain unit morph before they've even said the thing, and if there's another unite morph after that, the speech box thing will overlap the previous one and talk over it.

I also couldn't do the unite build on the enemies eye because the last wonderful one I had was just kindof, stuck in the head of the one with the eye missing, though I did manage to get that one out after 5 minutes of fidgeting around.

There was also a bit where you have to jump over the tanks after the bridge had just been blown up, but somehow it didn't actually put me in the cutscene and I was just there, walking and jumping around the tank as if it was normal gameplay until the timer ran out.

I dunno, I'm loving the game, but I just expected it to be polished as fuck due to Nintendo's involvement so I was a bit disappointed that there have been a few minor and major bugs, I haven't had to restart a chapter like that in years.

I'm starting to do stuff I did in Bayonetta. It's crazy and Kamiya is a genius. The game is fucking crazy.
Edith: that part where you can do unite morphs before he call them out, is not a bug.

I know it isn't a bug, it just feels unpolished, but maybe that's just personal preference.
