Borderlands 2 is 2014 isn't it? And who knows FFX and FFX-2 might become 2014.

I certainly hope there are no massive droughts for the first half of 2014 though. 2013 I felt like I barely used my Vita at all. Since about mid July I can't put it down though.

I think Sony should do indie retail releases. Bundle 2-3 indie games and release them at retail, so that Vita still has some retail presence, even if the AAA games would dry up. And I'm sure the indie developers would love to have their games present at retail

Didn't know they were going to make a Vita version. Nice.

I don't think Sony mentioned a date, I just assumed so because there's the talk of Boderlands GOTY edition launching this year.
Borderlands is 2014, confirmed on PS Blog. Wish it was releasing alongside the other GOTY editions. :/

Oh right, didn't notice that. Thanks for clearing that up. That basically means no one's going to buy it though, seeing as the GOTY editions will be out before that.
Yikes at that 2014 lineup, when are we supposed to get some new announcements?
With Vita the announcements tend to be random. I was hoping for a big AAA game for next year's holidays to have been unveiled at Gamescon but we've got nothing. Still, Bend and GR team have been working on something for a year and a half now so I think we can assume at least one of them releases a game next year.

They'll release multiplatform (PS3/Vita or PS4/Vita) games at best,I think if Sony had a big title to announce they would have done so at Gamescom or before that.Soul Sacrifice,Killzone,COD and Tearaway were announced well before their release.

Early 2014 will probably suck as badly with retail releases as 2013 did.

But at least this time we will be getting tons of indie stuff to fill the gap.

Apparently yes lol
Daganronpa 1&2 for vita will be sold together in Japan, while for the west only the first one was announced.

I would be crazy about this if it included the second game. I'm probably not buying it for just the first game. They decided to bring the games when it became famous after it was fantraslated, good job at being late.

Oh, shizzles. Thank you, I had no idea. Must've completely passed me by. Hopefully even as a niche title it gets enough sales to push the 2nd one out West.

I'm not sure many retailers would take that chance,BTW isn't GoW collection supposed to be 2014?no footage has been shown at all.

If you are referring to my list those are only the first games that came in mind, there are many others, for example borderlands 2, minecraft, the binding of isaac, helldivers, hotline miami 2, rogue legacy and others.

That doesn't exactly change much.

I'm a soon to be vita owner and I don't care about indie games(cause PC) and remote play, haha. I just want more japanese games!

I'm hoping for Atelier Rorona +, Senran Kagura, and some other goodies in 2014

the dangaronpa anime is TERRIBLE, yes you'd spoil all the game in a horrible horrible way. play the game.

I don't want to see the first game again, I want to play the 2nd one... now.

Vita GAF, i come in dire need of your guidance. A cousin of mine is coming to Mexico ( where i live) from the US, so as any sane person would do I told him to bring me the instant game collection bundle. Turns out he cant find the thing anywhere so my best option is the walking dead bundle? I really don't want to spend $200+$50 ( for ps+) + tax for a vita, and that's already taking into consideration ill haveto live with a 4gb card and im low on cash. Should I buy or wait until another relatives comes over here and theres a good vita bundle (~6 months probably)? I need your advice the most now vitaGAF, dont fail me now!

tl;dr:
I want a vita but i'm not dying to have a Vita.
I don't have much money to spend.
Walking dead bundle + ps+ for 250+tax? yay or nay?

Maybe Just look for a cheaper bundle on craigslist or cowboom?

Finally, I'm topped my account with $100 money. Half went to PS+ subscription for 1 year, and $10 was for Kessen III. I guess I should save the rest for future deal might to come.

This insane deal on a Vita appeared in the Cheap Arse Gamer thread, I'm reposting it here because there might be UK people who are interested (or know people who would be interested) that do not keep their eyes on that thread:

PS Vita + FIfa 13 + 10 Game Mega Pack + 8GB MEM CARD + 30 Day PS+
£149.99 (Shopto via Play.com)

It seems to be UK only (not available for mainland Europe), otherwise I'd probably have jumped on a second Vita to lend to friends in order to sell them on the platform.

New little king's story is great. Played it yesterday for 3 hrs straight. First time on Vita, as I play in 1-2hr durations.

woo! amen to that. great game. - something i've utiulized a lot more than when i played the wii version, is the "regroup" call button (O) during battle. thats how you avoid so many attacks without taking dmg, instead of just spamming attack. i do wish there was a similar button tto just send my entire team out at once rather than hit square repeatedly.

one of my biggest annoyances with vita is that i usually play in bed and its just very uncomfortable to hold when laying down. and if you play for like 30 minutes in the same position your arm goes to sleep, from being bent. :(

Actually, this year's holiday is pretty good for AAA games (not exclusive games, mind you):

FM 2014, Borderlands, GoW Collection, Invizimals, FIFA 14, Killzone, Tearaway, Batman.

The problem is the lack of anything announced for 2014.

Those are only Gamescom Announcements for 2014 (afaik):

Rogue Legacy
The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
Volume
Wasteland Kings
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number
HellDivers
Resogun
Muraski Baby
Bigfest
Minecraft
Borderlands 2
Starbound
Fez
Velocity 2x

I Wanna Be The Guy

Indie games aren't real games and don't count apparantly.

What's really funny is that people were always bitching about the PSP for offering nothing but console like games and didn't have enough bite sized games or games suited to the handheld experience. They're just watered down console style games they said. Vita will be exactly the same they said. Now that Vita is the perfect home for indies and has tons of games perfectly suited to pick up and play gaming and handheld gaming, they apparantly don't count. Sony's handhelds just can't win.

Glad to see so many indiegames headed to Vita. It's a lot more appealing to play them on Vita rather than my PC/PS3.

Don't know whether I should pick up a Vita now or wait untill TGS if they may announce a Vita 2.0.. TGS isn't far away so I think I'll wait. Got PS+ stacking up some games for me as well so it's all good.

Wait, Rogue Legacy isn't out until 2014!? :(

i could be wrong... but i'm pretty confident they wouldn't announce a vita revision at tgs.

they could introduce a bigger mem card though.

The problem with Vita ain't even that there aren't retail games. The problem is that those games are Japanese AND that publishers aren't bringing them over to NA & Europe/PAL-landia. One Piece 2, Hatsune Miku, Phantasy Star Online 2, God Eater 2 and many others... All somewhat notable games that would beef up the retail game presence of Vita/look good on a "here's what coming to Vita" lists, all notable games that are not coming over (on Vita, or at least haven't been announced).

I mean, Vita is starting to find its ground in Japan and we are getting a bit more announcements there, but unlike with PSP & DS, which were in a similar situation (most games were Japanese, apart from some western shovelware crap), only a minimal fraction of those games are being brought over. PSP & DS had their fair share of games that were never released outside Japan, but games like Phantasy Star Online 2 and God Eater 2 would definitely have been.

But on 9 September there's a special Sony event for Asia - if anything happens it will be there.
That's most likely all exclusive to PS4 announcements. TGS a couple of weeks later will have Vita stuff if anything.

Seems like Sony could really benefit from having a small in-house studio dedicated primarily to translations for western/ English release, a la Treehouse for Nintendo. It's a specialized skill set, but by and large it wouldn't require a huge team.

someone, i think mortimer said they were starting to do this which would localize a lot more games in the future.

I use my Vita a lot before I go to bed, and that has definitely become a little annoying. All of a sudden, I'll almost be asleep and the Vita lights up so bright that I can see it with my eyes closed in my dark room.
Why not put it in a case when you go to sleep?

When vitabros say they aren't into Spelunky or it's "not for them", what is it that they don't agree with?

I'm trying to gain some perspective.

Apart from being 2d indie artistic platformer with twist number 2131377323721147914 this generation ?

And costing half of the price of Rayman Legends ?

Warrior's Lair, BioShock Vita, Last Guardian, Agent, Final Fantasy X HD, etc. were all announced early too, I'm sure everybody involved are real happy with how that worked out.

That's nonsense. Fist of all, it's a niche Japanese game, and as great as it would be for the Vita to get more "famous" games, this is not it. And NISA obviously decided to bring it over when they learned a Vita version was being developed, and made the announcement 2 weeks after it was revealed in Japan.

B/c I lay in bed playing until the point that my eyes are almost melted, then I put the Vita on the surface behind me and go right to sleep lol

It's not a huge issue, but it is another one of the strange little things I hope they fix.
