Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | August 2013 | Divekicks & Dragons

Wow no invasion levels is a huge problem for me. I'll get it when it hits the bargain bin I guess. I've been behind Ubisoft porting this and delaying it from the start but that's unreal to leave a chunk of the game out and then be deceptive about it.

Yeah, it's really sketchy that they've been so quiet about it.

Almost starting to think the delay in Europe for the Vita version was so it didn't get bad word of mouth in NA before release or something, but maybe that's too tinfoil-hatty.

Or it will be a $20 DLC pack to make the Vita price $60 like the console versions are.

Sad to say I'll be waiting a long to pick up Legends if this is really trure.

I don't mind it. I can just get the PC version sometimes later or the PS3 one. What matters to me is the portability, the superior d-pad, gorgeous OLED and the overall fun of playing it on a handheld. I have fished Origins on PS3 in offline co-op with my brother but i had way more fun playing it on VITA. Once you get a hang of playing Rayman with VITA's d-pad, you can never go back to PS3/PC :p

$20 is a bit high. But man I could see them doing that for $5 or $10 or something. That would really suck, especially because a lot of people would be buying them game not knowing that stuff is missing.

I'm not really holding off, I'm going to just get it on PS3. Honestly, playing both the Wii U and PS3 demos...the Murphy levels just seem way better in the non-touch screen versions anyway. They were really boring to me on Wii U.

It's surprising to me that they didn't give WiiU/Vita owners the option to play those levels in the PS3/360/PC style instead of being forced into using the touchscreen.

Hoping it's just a case of whoever is porting it to Vita running out of time and that we'll get them eventually. Hopefully Ubisoft explains what is going on instead of just not saying anything.

Yeah, I really don't understand it. I mean the coding is already there because of multiplayer, where one person controls Murphy and 1-4 others control the regular characters.

It really just makes no sense. I hate throwing around the word "lazy" because I know developers work really hard to get their games made, but this thing in particular just...feels lazy.

Rayman Legends is probably heading to PS+ pretty fast anyway, no need to buy it if you have doubts.
In Europe, maybe, In US, no chance. We hardly see AAA PS+ games for VITA in US, we probably won't see it until at the end of 2014.

I just hope that they have some sort of discount like PS+ for launch week of Rayman Legends. I mean they should compensate us for buying Origins on sale and then offering it for free this month.

Guys I need help , suddenly my vita face buttons stop working. Only the home buttons works. Sometime the others buttons works too bur x never works. Any solution? I Imported this from the USA so warrently is out of the question...

its working again? Wtf lol don't die on me vita. This is worst then the old hanging problem. Man the os(?) problems of the vita sucks.

I will still get Legends for the Vita, I'll just pick it up later on Steam for a few bucks again - did the same with Origins (3-4€).

Alright Vita GAF, how do I do Cross-Play coop with PS3? I go to LAN on both devices but nothing happens.

It just works, nothing special to set up.
Both (PS3/Vita) are on the same Network? WiFi enabled on the Vita?

I actually had that happen to me once too. It was like a year ago. Turned the thing off, turned it back on and it never happened again.

VitaGAF, we have to flood @giocorsi begging for FF Type-0 on Vita

I asked for Teleglitch, Ace Patrol (premium PC version, none of this gimped iOS F2P pap) and Ground Pounders. Teleglitch, because a twin-stick roguelike-esque Quake-y survival game would be terrific on the machine. Ace Patrol, because it'd look and play very well on that Vita screen as well as plug a hole in the strategy vacuum on Vita. Same for Ground Pounders. A Vita sci-fi Panzer General offering would be amazing.

The news that rayman legends is missing some levels on vita breaks my heart </3
Now I am lost to what version to order.

Hope its gets sorted out soon.

So...exactly what is the invasion mode content? Like am I missing anything substantial here by going with the Vita version?

From what I understand, you'd unlock one by beating pre-determined levels, like say, beating World 1 - Level 2 and World 4 - Level 3. The "Invasion level" is like a mixture of the two levels it took to unlock it. (in this case World 1 - Level 2 and World 4 - Level 3)

Haven't played the game but from what I understand this is how it works.

Short levels you must finish as quickly as possible to save Teensies. They're not that hard, but you'll want to think fast and have to react quickly in order to get the fastest time.

Just tried Stealth Inc and played for an hour straight. Fun puzzles and nice visuals, it's like a slower paced and more puzzle focused Super Meat Boy.
If it wasn't free for us plussers I'd definitely would have bought it!

But the GOTY edition.is 40-50 euros, right?

The Rayman issue is sad. I was starting to "like" Ubisoft. And it's weird, I don't usually care about companys. If they are willing to patch it after release, cool. If it's a free DLC, cool. If it's a paid DLC, I will see if it's cool enough.

And if they do what you've said about Borderlands, I won't care so much. I will buy the game if its framerate is in the 25-30 range (I'm not a framerate whore, I don't mind small drops), but if it's a shitty port, I'll go for the PS3 GOTY. And, if after playing the game i fell in love or need more shooting, I'll buy the DLC.

I'm not a shooter lover, so one FPS per year in the Vita is more than enough for me.

I'm happy to see ACIII: Liberation on sale for EU PSN store. It might not be as cheap as the US deal, but it's still a good deal. Not sure if I've mentioned this before either, I got Resistance Burning Skies for the 9 pounds they were asking for, and it has been worth it. The controls are great on the vita, FPS games can be amazing on the vita. Disgaea 3 was a nice deal a couple of weeks ago too.

Now I'm waiting for Dynasty Warriors Next, Oddworld Stranger's Wrath, Orgarhythm, Persona 4 and Silent Hill BoM to go on sale, and that would have been all the games I'd have wanted to go on sale.

Other games that might be considered during sale: Need for Speed, Blazblue and Superfrog HD.

I don't want to downplay the situation, but I' m mighty fine with this. I just really hate those kind of levels.

Yes. This is what I want more than anything on sale. I played it for a while when it was free on the Japanese PS+, and enjoyed what I played. I'd love to play it fully.

How's Liberation? Do you have any impressions yet? I've been on the fence with that one for a while.

The game is still downloading. It might also be overkill to play it straight away. I still have Soul Sacrifice and Resistance to complete. Not to mention dozens of games I haven't touched yet. There are too many games to play on the vita :(

Liberation looks like a game that you won't have many of it on the vita. It might be flawed in certain aspects, but it certainly seems totally worth it at that price if you enjoy those type of games. I've watched some let's play videos of it and it seems really impressive to have a game of that scope on a handheld. Sorry that I can't be of more help for the time being :(

Yeah, I'm not much of a Dynasty Warriors fan but I did enjoy the demo of Next. There are a lot of games I seem to be enjoying on the vita that I haven't given a chance on the PS3. The games are definitely designed differently in mind for being on handhelds, and that seems to make them more appealing.

Had a cape and anubis' staff, accidentally shot a psychic ball while there was an enemy behind me so it turned around and hit me on its way to him

What is that location supposed to do anyways? I've seen it before and assumed I needed a jetpack to reach it.

Hey vitagaf, so ever since that Sony 3rd party team popped up, I've been thinking, with enough voices, maybe we could get Paranautical Activity on the vita? Its an indie, its rouge like, old school FPS and tons of replayability. What say you vitagaf?

Heres some gameplay: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhHpB9KR1bo&feature=c4-overview&list=UUSiZc-Tl2uT0CumpQY-v1NQ
Looks fun but I'm not sure this kind of game would translate well into consoles TBH. Mouse looks like a must.

You could tweet to devs and Shahid anyway, I think 3rd party team isn't necessary in this case

That's alright, thanks though. I remember Liberation looking really promising before its' release, and then a few things set it back off my 'must have' list, firstly the reviews were mediocre, the price was too high for too long, and so forth. If you can, though, post some impressions after you've played a bit of it. :)

I personally don't like them much mainly since the main levels I played in the demo felt 'take your time' to me and I really liked that.
Castle Rock on the other hand was a great 'Rhythm' style stage and I'm glad that they're still on the Vita from what I gathered =D
Furthermore Vita ver. should be cheaper than PS3 ver. if EU PSN is anything to go by?

Maybe they could localize Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

Hey guys, it seems the author of this Rayman Legends Review has confirmed in the comments that there are indeed levels missing in the Vita version of Rayman Legends. All of the "Invasion" levels to be specific.

"Oh man I just noticed that it is missing. There are (some) Murfy challenges specific to the Vita/WiiU that are NOT on the PS3 version though. But dang the invasion levels missing is a big thing. I'm reading through the review packets they gave us and it is pretty vague whether or not it is included. The Vita version is being delayed in Europe, I wonder if a patch is coming? I'll keep looking into this."

Really, really disappointing. I love you Vita but I think I'm going to have to go PS3 instead for this one. I wasn't a big fan of using touch for the Murphy levels anyway judging from the Wii U demo.

These levels were the best part of the (PS3) demo for me. I'm definitely not getting the game now.

I'm really sad to hear about how the Vita Rayman is gimped. Went from a must buy to ill wait for it to get cheaper. Looks like the only retail Vita game for me in September is Killzone. Hopefully some good sales make up for it.

Isn't his role in bringing games that already exist to the platform?

Hes says "New ips" also so its difficult to say how far their reach extends. We cannot exactly ask for a specific new ip. As for people asking for Legend of Dragoon, Alundra, Etc those would be Sonys first party (unless they outsource a sequel) so those would be Yoshida requests.

Holy mother Dustforce!!! I knew if I shouted loud enough I'd get my own way! Please don't make a shit port
Well done, along with everyone else who helped make this happen. I was turned on to it here, and holy crap it looks super awesome. I am very excited for this game.
Costume DLC incoming.
The inner Capcom fan in me is belligerently excited for the potential of this in Dustforce.

Agreed about the negatives during launch release. I'll post some impressions once I get around it :)

Look at it this way, the game has tons of content, but the missions are short and a bit repetitive. It's the perfect kind of game to play for a long time while playing other games in between. It's easy to leave it for a while and come back to it if you want to focus on other games. I'd play it and not focus on finishing it asap. It really works out well that way. That might work for you too?

I'm hoping Killzone inspires a few more FPS games to arrive on Vita, but its all about return on investment.

Would love Coded Arms to make a comeback. The original was my crack and a very noble effort so early on in the PSP's life. Quite strange that it came from a Japanese dev. Creat killed the magic with the sequel.

Would have to be at least 10 off at this point with all the cuts and auto play.

Why? It is already cheaper than the console versions by 20 bucks.

I think I am okay with no invasion levels. It is 20 bucks less, and is already chock full of content without the extra levels.
