Haven't read the whole thread, are there any insiders that have confirmed they will actually reveal games there?

I think Sony confirmed that by themselves.
New PS4 games will be revealed both at the conference and at TGS.
Of course that doesn't mean that they're going to unveil the games people would love to see :p

The Yakuza team basically confirmed it. They've given two hints about when and which platform/s that Yakuza Ishin will be unveiled

1.) 9
2.) Fans expectations won't be betrayed by it

Well, they're going to announce the japanese date. They have to show games aimed at that market since they still haven't started yet.

Really hope PS4 revives Japan's interest in consoles.

Me too man. I really hope this mobile migration is less about people's perception of console gaming, and more that the PS3 was expensive with poor support in Japan this entire generation.

With the PS4 being cheaper and easier to develop for, with any luck, people will have a reason to get on board.

Imagine a Dragon Quest on PS4. A PS4 Monster Hunter.

Wow... Come on Japan. Be strong.

I'd be in the dick
I just hope we finally start getting some exciting Japanese game announcements again. It may be partially because my tastes have changed but I really miss Japan's influence on the industry. Lately only FFXV, Platinum, and KojiPro are the only Japanese projects that get me excited and the latter two have a fairly Western influence and focus.

Mighty No. 9 now PS4/Vita exclusive. Jk

Probably just the aforementioned RgGI and rumoured Demon Souls 2, and some Clap Hanz game (Minna no Golf or Tennis or Sukkiri sequel).

DQ is more likely to be on PS4 than MH and the chances of there being a DQ on PS4 are 0.

A recent trademark filing from Square Enix Japan for the name Final Fantasy Type-0-2 seems to suggest a sequel to the PSP exclusive rpg released in Japan nearly two years ago is in the works.

You may recall a few years ago Square Enix trademarked Type-1 and Type-2, as well, but nothing came of either filings.

So what makes this one different?

In this case Final Fantasy Type-0-2 falls in line with Square Enix’s regular names for its sequels, i.e. Final Fantasy X-2 and Final Fantasy XIII-2.

Additionally, SE Japan has also trademarked Valkyrie Profile, Saga Frontier, Bushido Blade and Bahamut Lagoon.

WHHYYYYY THOUGH?

WHY?

:(

LOL @ the breakdown.

Seeing MH tied to one platform is disappointing but maybe it's all for the best. Sony developing a MH-equivalent on their platform should be better as we will not rely on third party for these types of games.

There was a rumor on 2ch about 2 typical PS games getting announced in September for 3DS. Hints were 5 and 2.

Persona 5 and Type0-2??

Probably bullshit but September is here and Nintendo already killed the last Sony Pre-TGS pre-console release conference once two years ago with similar announcements.

I hope so too. I remember all the PS2 games that I was jealous of, the diversity of so many Japanese games. I wouldn't have dared called the PS2 and Xbox "twins" back then. There is a more "engrossing" nature to console games, the booming sounds, the drama taking place on a big screen, that handheld games can't replace.

I think that when SE has a board of directors, instead of talking about business, they just register some domains and laugh while we rode the hype train. It will explain why they have "extraordinary loses", at least.

Most likely bullshit. P5 on 3DS doesn't make any sense, the sales are basically the same on any platform, you'd just piss off the fanbase for no reason.

I uh.. Hate to say it, but it makes sense if it'll get the same sales everywhere, to release it on the platform that requires the least financial investment.

I would have zero problems with a Type 0-2 3DS announcement so long as it's released stateside.

P5 3DS would be terribly disappointing, however.

I know that they're cheapskates, but if they want to take that route it'd make more sense on Vita since P4G sold pretty damn well considering the install base and the fact that it was a port.
