At this point I am definitely not expecting anything special, Microsoft PR is too confused :p

CONTENT

A term so vague that they could literally simply be handing out XBOX ONE EXCLUSIVE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES and technically would still be telling the truth.

Amazing how they are still playing the "surprise" card. At this point MS should try to be as clear and to the point as possible... Stop with trying to be cute already, it would be much appreciated by all.

Could be worse. Could've said "Experience" which could mean anything from ponchos and interpretive dance on one hand, and some random TV/advertising/sidebar nonsense on the other.

I'm sure that's probably missing a game announcement or two, but to be sure Microsoft has not been announcing a lot of stuff lately. But that's because they don't have a lot of stuff left to announce - because of the overwhelming negativity surrounding the Xbox One prior to E3, they blew their load at the show to try to get ahead of it. That still didn't work, but the end result was strategically they had revealed most of their big guns. They still have a few left, but they're probably waiting for a more important time to counter... like when Sony announces Uncharted at the VGAs or something like that.
Yep. Sure seems this way. And yet people keep asking, Why isn't Sony announcing everything they've got in development for PS4 right NOW NOW NOW?! It's because they don't have to. They can just roll out stuff in due time, even one at a time, and just bomb MS's mindshare with the hardcore crowd. They've got TGS in Sept, and some space until the VGAs in which to do something, then the spotlight around the hardware launch itself, then the VGAs, then the post-new year lull in January... Anyway, this isn't a Sony thread so I'll shut up.

What surprises were announced by MS at PAX? I've been out of the loop and didn't see anything major on the front page.

They aren't really running, waving with flags or something. It's always us making more out of stuff than it really is.

If you head to the halo 4 global championship live event on the 360 dashboard, it says:

"World Premiere Xbox One Content"

maybe the surprise will be shown during the stream?

I talked about that days ago on this specific thread. but I guess nobody cared at the time. :p

So, I was watching the trailer for the Halo 4 Global Championship finals event on Xbox Live, and they say they'll have "World premiere xbox one content" during the stream.

It's not like they make a big deal about it, but they do have Major Nelson hosting the thing, so maybe it's worth talking about it.

world premier xbox one content is:

exclusive xbox one download text file, that are saying: We are pulling out of the race people. we wish Sony and especially Nintendo the best of luck.

BOOM

Fair enough. But given their recent track record (intentional or not), it would serve them better to be upfront to avoid any further confusion/aggravation/backlash from the community.

I'm surprised there's been no Mountain Dew or Doritos special Xbox 360 or Xbox One announced.

It could make a can opening or chip crunching sound when you power it on or scream "DO THE DEW!" when you eject a disc or something.

Announcement Here i guess

so content likely means not a new game announcement... since they would clearly say otherwise if so

hmmm.... content... PAX... September... is this by chance an event for a game
it does say halo on the side... so probably...

Halo 5 (or Halo for what their calling it know) smart glass integration premier... but how o_O you can't show content without showing the gameplay first... and the cinimatic trailer does not count... so no Halo 5 but maybe still Halo related...

hmmm... PAX... Halo... September... content... Smart Glass... Xbox One...
PAX = Fans... Fans love lore... actor and director for games come to PAX... attend panels !!!!!

Eureka!!!

Got a response from Nelson. Posting a picture in a second.

So...nothing new.

OK that is just embarrassing.......What new games did Microsoft announce at Pax or Gamescom? Anything new at all? Looks like they have shown the same games they announced at E3 at Pax and Gamescom. So ridiculous....

And Titanfall shouldn't even be counted as an Xbox One surprise. The version they were playing was a pre-alpha PC version with Xbox 360 controllers. Has more to do with PC and Xbox 360 at that point.

Old Killer Instinct news, parroted by one of the game's developers, and an old BF4 trailer.

Why are they even bothering with this?
