Why do people care who releases first?

Its like watching football. The first goal is always exciting and may set a trajectory for the rest of the game.

Those don't matter. The X1 will likely sell out no matter what is being released the same day. It's not like somebody will walk into a store and make a serious decision whether to get Zelda on 3DS or a new X1 console. They'll walk in and get whatever they were intending to get in the first place.

If it is on the 22nd, all eyes will be on Sony for a full week to see how well they have delivered. High stakes for sure.

My bigger interest is in when EA, Ubisoft, and Activision release their titles. Seeing BF4, COD:Ghosts, Watch Dogs, or AC4 on a PS4 before XB1 could be huge for Sony, but if some if not all of those titles are held for the XB1 launch, it could hurt Sony as far as image amongst the casual.

Nah. The offer also doesn't include other next-gen titles releasing earlier - Ass Creed etc so you can't deduce based upon it not including Watch Dogs.

They'd struggle to make as much money back on those titles compared to FIFA, BF and COD which have longevity. That's the likely reason it is only those 3 titles.

Maybe? maybe its just Ubisoft aren't aligned with the deal? who knows but given the new IP status Watchdogs is I still think it holds relevance.

Also if you listen to the announcer when he introduced Yusef Medhi in the XBox one CPU thread he mentions "Xbox one releasing November 18th/19th" (I cant make out which one he said?) then Medhi corrects him with "We haven't announced the launch date yet!"

I still think the 19th looks likely.

I don't think they'll share the hype. If anything, the X1 will shadow over those games that were listed, not the other way around.
