But they have nothing to reveal at 18/9 Conf. :(

Last Guardian won't be a reveal silly, it's a known ip!

And one more request for the new page: The Star Trek gif with the guy in space on a ship watching an E3 Conference far in future with subtitles that read "Where in the hell was the Last Guardian" Was a pretty popular gif for a while but I can't find it now.

Am I the only person not excited by Vita TV? What's the point for this device to even exist? No touchscreen, no back touchscreen, how the Vita games gona play on that thing? No gaming on the go on this amazing OLED screen. Did Sony just shot the handheld on the back?

Deep Down is like souls/diablo gameplay wise? The graphics are nowhere near the first target render, but it is a full online game so that is ok by me the game is beautiful. That lily bergamo trailer in my veins now Suda!!!

I'm still trying to understand how useful a device that plays Vita games, yet has no touchscreen (front or rear) will be. Even if it supports Dualshock 4, then you've only got one pad covered. Games like LBP Vita would be completely unplayable.

yeah, basically this is like their admittance that rear pad is a mistake, going from this forward, there will be even fewer or even no games to utiilize rear pad other than being optional.

this is interesting strategy from Sony, basically now people will have to decide if they want VitaTV home console or PSVita as portable device. the current PSVita hardware will have to sell based on the merit of being portable, not just because of games.

I hope this PSVitaTV is a success for Sony, it's easy to imagine if it become a success that they'll make PSVitaTV2 in the future that will include ps2 or even ps3 emulation. but this will be years off.

Anyway, that was actually a really solid conference. Unintentionally comedic translators aside, they really brought a lot of good stuff to bear.

-PS4 launch info for Japan
-New Vita model
-VITATV MEGATON (not really... Well, could help revitalize Vita support? Dunno how to feel about this one yet)
-Games
-Games
-More games
-Did we mention games?
-Seriously, we've even got games for Vita for fuck's sake
-Not atrocious camera work

So yeah. Nice one all-around. Some stuff I'm really excited about!

I don't think this conference was fitting for TLG. From what I've been told, it isn't dead. And unless I've been misinformed, I think it'll be a TGS main announcement, if it's even the same game by now.

Well, we haven't seen too much from it in the first place and we do not really know much after all. So anything the will show in the future will most likely be new to me. I'm still hoping that it's still alive and going to be released on PS4 (it has to be if it's still alive). yn

Why are you reading my tag instead of the title of my post?
:( No TLG. But, new "console". THIS was the Vita conference we were waiting for.

I see it mainly as a PS4 extender for my second TV. I think there will be a number of Vita games (LittleBigPlanet, as just one example) that won't be playable using just a DS3 (or even a DS4, if those are supported).

No one wants a throne you've been sitting on!
This was the BEST fucking conf that sony has put on vs all of the others that they did. Hands down.

Great flow and everything shown was relevant for the most part.

Esp none of this stupid overkill focus on indie titles. As much as I like the stuff the focus during gamescom was borderline suicide.

The newly redone PS4 version would be. At this point, Sony will probably never recoup the development costs of the title. So they might as well cut their losses and focus on bringing it to the PS4 to strengthen the library of their new console instead of padding out the end life of the PS3.

Yeah.
FF14 Beta, Yakuza, Musou, etc for launch is huge. Plus the other stuff - Gundam, Idolmaster, new Grasshopper game, etc is great for PS4 in order to attract the current PS3 users. Deep Down as an exclusive is a good move as well - certainly the better deal over DR3 from the looks of it.

Vita getting some original content as well - new single player Phantasy Star! - also a nice surprise.

One thing I did notice, and i'd expect it to continue to happen, is that games are being released on PS3/PS4 or PS3/PS4/Vita. So I guess Japanese devs are taking a page out of western devs when it comes to not betting everything on tiny and new userbases. I'd expect this to continue for any games that really aren't pushing hardware too hard, which should mean a high number of Japanese dev'd games. I guess that's a good thing for those that don't want to upgrade right away.

It's also interesting that right away the third party support for the PS4 is stronger than that of the Wii U. Before everything started moving I was sure that Nintendo would sew up much of the Japanese support.

But they have nothing to reveal at 18/9 Conf. :(

How do you know? Do you think that they just tossed everything out that they had today and that's it for the PS4?

So when can we expect an upload of all the translated trailers?

Hope someone will make a mix.

Only one thing to say. One of the best conferences ever. It had its bore sections sure, but it over-delivered in entertainment. I never laughed so much during a conference.

From the "Ratchet and Crack and Crash Bandicue" classics, to the Multi translators that swapped their places all the time, to the narration of the trailers (please tell me someone recorded that Knack one with the GLADOS voice holy shit, or there is a back up to watch), to the weird out of place music, to the anti climatic trailers, to the out of nowhere megatons, to the resurrection of tri-Ace, to Deep Down being playable and living up to my expectations.

Awesome! Glad I stayed up for it.

Oh yeah. Way better than expected, TLG expectations aside.

This thing is so tiny it's awesome. Smaller than my Sandisk Ultra memory card reader lol.

If you remove the seriously boring PS3 section, this conference actually delivered. Deep Down and Evil Within (Psycho Break) look seriously amazing, PSVita TV sounds awesome, and I have a friend who's going to flip out about the Gundam games.

Sony is setting themselves up for some serious profit. ^-^

Not only that, it allows them to be multiplatform in a sense.

I'd place it around better than GDC '07 but worse than E3 '11. though.

Ummmm.... this.

  1. E3 '13
  2. E3 '11
  3. TGS '13
  4. GDC '07
  5. E3 '09

I'm definitely in for one of those. I love how stylish Sony's hardware can be. And I'm surprised it debuts in white instead of black. That pic reminds me of PSOne.

Caught up.

Decent conference. Now for TGS and then it's officially next stop next generation. Dat Yakuza though.

In terms of announcements, it definitely appealed more to me than Gamescom did. And that's obviously not even everything out of SCEJ.

Man an Xbox One and a VitaBox sounds like a damn good combo to me. Get a ps4 once it starts getting some games and I'll be all set.

Now I'm kinda curious what they're gonna do at TGS though. They've shown off a bunch of stuff already, wonder if they've got any extra ammo for the shows next week.

If we're allowed to fantasize a bit...
-TLG (lol)
-Persona 5
-Demons' Souls 2 (or whatever the thing Verendus keeps hinting at ends up being)

Not saying any of these are realistic, but hey.

Is there a list of new games around? Trying to follow but I kept losing Neogaf.
