I thought dodge bomb kill them, I quickly watched a video and that's true it let you time to recruit. Now I hope it works while swimming and climbing walls.

I'm thinking of picking up this game tommorow.... Should I check it out if I kinda like action games?

It looks ok but I'm not sure I would like it honestly, seems a bit crazy and over the top. Might just wait for GTA V and skip this.

I'm losing my mind waiting for the game to come in... pre-ordered it when this store had a E3 sale and didn't think about the fact that Nintendo always releases on Sunday.
Got it for 35$ so I'd be dumb to pay almost twice as much to get it a day early. Breaking Bad in an hour atleast....

It ties into EVERY aspect of the game, from puzzle-solving to team-management and the way you move around in the world. Then obviously, there's the combat system.

Since you actually draw the shapes rather than merely activate them, you can determine their size (=strength), the time of their activation (which can coincide with a Skill attack if the two are confirmed simultaneously), and even use the act of drawing as an attack once you buy that skill.
I can see these things. If you removed the drawing you'd have to alter a lot even outside of the core combat. I just don't like drawing that shizz in the heat of the moment. lol
What's the best move to not directly kill little soldiers and recruit them?

I like using the fist but without stunning them prior. Only thing that seems to work for me.

Not sure if you're super serious on this? I mean I'd get it if you're interested. GTA is going to be WAY easier to find in 6 months time than this. Looking at just this thread people are having a hard time trying to find it, and it's release day.

Just picked up my copy. Gamestop only recieved two of them and by the time I got there the sealed copy had been sold so I was given the opened copy.

It really is a shame this came out when it did. I'll have to shelve it until after I beat GTAV :(

For the price you're getting it at, and the fact that you do kinda like action games, I would stick with it. Unless of course, it's purely a money thing and even with the discounted price, you could afford only one game, just go with the genre you love more. GTA looks like it's shaping up to be a great open world game, and Wonderful 101, from what little I've played, seems like a fantastic action title. If I were you though, I'd hold out for that pre-order price, that's a decent amount of money to save for waiting one day.

I was kidding people, I thought my spoiler'd text would make that clear.

I'm dying to play this, just have to wait for the game to come in tommorow. A new Kamiya game finally!

Can't wait to (try to) Pure Platinum this bitch!

Don't know why but I just started laughing when I saved Wonder-Sister.

Something I just remembered: the secret bottle cap for 1-A "Take It Out On The Other Guys" is a nice little ending to its skit.

Saur is doing Pure Platinum videos for the bosses, but I'm tempted to do write ups for the little details behind each boss. Or at least the ones I can find.

I know almost everything to the first two bosses but want to try some stuff still. I know what you can do with the third boss in theory, but that's theory.

Picked it up around noon today, and played through about 6 hours up till now. I'm really enjoying it. Thankfully, I feel like I have a grasp of the combat system from playing the demo a lot and watching Saur's videos. I've mostly been getting Gold or Silver mission ranks up till mission 003-A when it introduced the turtle enemies. I have no idea how to effectively tackle those enemies so I end up brute forcing them with basic Wonder-Yellow attacks. Multi unite hammers don't seem to work well against them since touching them cancels out the draw or I initiate the attack too far away. Anyone have a strategy to defeat them quickly?

I've felt pretty confident in my abilities up till this point, and it's like I've hit a wall. I had a similar experience with the second boss, but I'm positive I just didn't know the strategy to defeat it quick enough to save the platform you fight on in time.

I've put in about 4 hours so far and I'm absolutely loving it. I'm busting out multi-unite morphs like they aren't a thing.

Hero Counter is my favorite. It slows down time much like Unite Bomb does, and, as such, it is great for setting up combos.

I also use whichever doubles the Unite Gauge's recovery time.

A lot of people like Ukemi too.
I bought the hero counter, but I'm not sure how to use it. Do I just press the click the left sick or move it before getting hit?

Once you get into the flow, this game is freakin incredible. I'm only to the first
Vorkken (sp?) fight
and the spectacle has already had me gasping and fist pumping countless times.

My favorite thing so far has been finding out what GEATHJERK stands for.

How does the unite gauge work (the batteries bar)? I've gotten myself into a spot once or twice where I couldn't gather meter more than one battery's worth. Unite Guts, meter gone, eat lead. Draw sword, meter gone, settle for a smaller one. Is there any way to build meter without getting batteries?

It fills up after time.

So if I find myself in an encounter low on meter, that means I sucked it up and should have played better (especially if I want platinum medals)?

There's a Speed Charge upgrade you can get that's pretty essential. It's kinda like the VFX Turbo Charger from Viewtiful Joe in that once you get it, in that it's super-duper-important and should be one of the first things you buy.

double post, fuck it

It probably happens to a lot of people.

Just run around if you can for a few seconds and you'll at least get a battery or two filled up.

I doubt it has a direct effect on Platinum Medals but then again, time does but it doesn't take long to fill up a battery or two on the gauge.

So the game doesn't include a proper physical manual or even a nice looking foldout.

... If this is how Nintendo games will be in the future I really will consider going all digital, the main advantage would be selling back but most Nintendo titles I won't do that with anyway, nevermind the $5 back promo. Although Nintendo DOES undermine their case with an anemic excuse for an account system, so there is that.

Bought Wonderful 101 today, hope to get some good time with it in between sessions of GTAV. Had to support the homie Kamiya for what looks like an awesome game.

Beat the third boss and calling it a night. Game is amazing.

Now time to stare at my autographed box for a couple hours.

Beat the prologue and the first part of operation 1, and I am impressed. Playing on normal and got a consolation prize for operation 1 A lol.

Use Team Attacks to refill it quickly. Also not 100% on this, but I think a successful block with Unite Guts fills it all the way back up. Haven't tested that though, it's just something I thought I saw happen while I was playing yesterday.

Push the right stick on the direction of the missing eye ball and keep pushing it until all of your members are inside. If one or two members are left behind it won't work, so just re-center the right stick and push it to the same direction again.

This...is just not working :/

Just got through the second boss while barely keeping the tower alive. No lives lost yet. I didn't know he could shoot his mini-missiles and then almost immediately slam the tower down. That, and one failed QTE, almost did me in.

Operation 3, here I come.

You can use cake. Cake doesn't count against your score like the missiles do.

There's also Unite Camp, but you need to be able to not move for five seconds.

A successful Guts block refills two or three bars.

And I think that if you allow your teammates to wail on people (either through Climb attack or just standing next to enemies without holding the Dash button) it'll slooooowly refill the gauge. Just standing there seems to be more effective, and more dangerous.

I'm currently stuck in a revolving cargo hold with flames on one side... what am I supposed to do?

Use Unite Gun.

Cancel, gather everyone up, and then do the multi tap thing again. Sometimes, someone bugs out because of an attack and takes an extra long time to get back in line. By the time you're using Build again, they should be back.

Worst case, have you retried the level?

I'm just not getting it. This last time I tried, I'm the only one not inside, and nothing happens. I'd rather not restart the level :/

Do you have enough dudes?
If you don't, you have to attack the other head so it spits out another dude sphere.

How many do you need? It seems like I have enough.

Wonder-Sister? "No need to confess?" Guns named Heaven and Hell?

AWESOME.

I'm thinking I'll pick this up in Target's B2G1 deal next week, alongside Rayman and Zombi U.

Right now I'm hooked on Puppeteer and want to finish Pikmin 3.

Looking forward to TW101, though. :)

Ask me about the moon landing or the temperature at which jet fuel burns. You may be surprised at what you learn.
Is Mission Mode available from the start? I have a buddy coming over tomorrow and I'd rather blaze through some Mission Mode with him before starting the Story.

I can't. Nothing happens.

You need 100.

If you don't have enough just reflect the other head's laser with the sword a few times until you do. (it coughs up pods full of people every time.)

Figured that out the hard way earlier. First consolation prize so far for time lol.

So any advice for how to deal with the
turtle-guys
in Operation 003? I've beaten the first level of that operation, but it takes FOREVER to deal with them. Would like some tips going forward...

I bought two Pro Controllers just for co-op in this game's Mission Mode. Hope it delivers -- the taste in the demo was great.
