Super Mario 3D World - Introduction video

There's a location at 00:15 - 00:17 that is large and very sparse. It looks pretty terrible too. They've shown it in a couple of trailers and it always sticks out to me and makes me wonder why it was designed the way it was.

I think that's one of the first stages, and looks like it was designed to introduce the player to the cat suit. It too big and empty for normal Mario, and the inclusion of the bunnies to chase and catch makes it look more like a playground/training area for Cat Mario.

Welcome to the Galaxy

Its perfect timing because a lot of kids that got a Wii U last year are going to be selling that thing to get the new consoles especially in the wake of over the top marketing for BF4, AC4, COD:G. Little do they know they are getting rid of the best console to have this season. Whatever though were reaping all the rewards.

Does anyone think we'll see any gravitational gameplay like in Galaxy? Or is that the one big mechanic that could not be revisited in any way in order to differentiate the game from the Galaxy titles (hence why it never appeared in 3D Land - I don't think the engine could've taken it tbh too).

Now the online component is integrated through ghosts, replay value will be even bigger than what it was with the 4 characters to complete the game with. So I have good hopes EAD has a total winner again.
You know I would still want a true multiplayer online so I can already see the backlash

I wonder how it would mix the game engines to do this

Not putting my hopes up on Galaxy areas

It really is unfortunate that Nintendo didn't have some of these games ready at launch for the Wii U. I bought one on launch day because I have to have every Nintendo console, that's just me. I knew I would be getting solid Mario, Zelda and Smash entries. Still holding out hope for a killer Metroid game (hell, even MP Trilogy HD would kill it.)

The Wii U is the perfect companion console. The Playstation and Xbox brands are too close for me to think I have to have both (even though I probably will), but the Nintendo difference is alive and well. It just took its sweet time showing up on the Wii U.

I agree completely. Its the perfect companion to one of the HD consoles.

What an amazing treat to see this released before going to bed last night. And it was all I could think about all night. Seeing more of this game just makes me shake and smile with utter joy. Can't WAIT to see Rosalina and whatever post game stuff they're hiding in there (please be Wart, please be Wart.) I really hope they just keep it a secret, and let people discover it after the game is out.

Gonna watch the English version here in a second. This really looks amazing. I was watching vids with my 10 year old daughter recently and when Peach went first through a pipe and Mario followed she thought it was the funniest thing. "Peach, act like a lady!".

I've been replaying 3d Land of late and it's even better than I recalled. I can't wait for this shit.

Soo, how well would this do this Christmas

Insanely well. I mean, obviously they'd probably charge 349.99 in a real-world scenario (really? A brand-new $60 game AND a $40 Limited Wii Remote Plus for $300?), but it would be a great "desperation" bundle!

EDIT: If you wanted to be a REAL tease, you should've made it a limited edition Mario-red GamePad and/or console, too.

The backlash would also happen if the online mode couldn't cope with Mario standards regarding precision. I think this competitive online element is a great compromise. I assume best runs will come from Toad and Luigi, unless Mario physics are so well known and the character so played with, it will be able to compete.

"Mario's latest is the cat's pajamas."

It's been so long since I've heard anyone use that phrase. That's gonna confuse most people, lol. "Cat's meow" might have been more well-known.

They should have gotten a more upbeat narrator. He's not speaking loud or energetic enough.

Better than anything Nintendo has come up with, that's for sure. I'd think they'd try to sell it for the Wii U's original price though, unless it was the digital version of the game that is.

Very good point

Well, to be fair, they would probably have to take a huge loss on that one.

Not referring to the price as much as I am the presentation. The image alone just screams fun in a box, while the normal Wii U Deluxe box just confused consumers. Including the Wiimote and a hardcopy of the game also seem a bit much too, so realistically they could probably get away with that price, taking out those factors.
