I want to believe, because this right here is exactly my hope for the handling, word for word.So if you've never applied the brakes in a racing game before you'll need to learn that pretty quickly, but it's easy to get to grips with and you'll pick up the key skills as you earn the right to race faster and more powerful cars.
If you're a seasoned driver, well versed in the art of racecraft, you can make use of a wide range of advanced driving techniques that you'd expect to employ in a simulator, like trail braking, feathering the throttle and Scandinavian flicks to name just a few.
This isn't a replacement to GT.
It's a different type of game, it's not a pure simulation at all. It's more akin to Horizon or PGR as stated by the developers themselves.
Well I'll say so far they haven't differentiated themselves anywhere near enough.
Either include it in the GT franchise, or make something that isn't covered for the most part by GT.

Not a great comparison, but the motion blur and lighting improvements make the biggest differences. And the AA obviously got better as well.
did they adjust the camera a bit? I don't feel cramped or having too little window space to see what's in front of you anymore in the new build. I remember seeing the old video that the window seemed very small and you can barely see what's in front of you

its supposed to look even better than this? h-how?
also, imo looks like we don't need them to try for 60fps, it looks brilliantly smooth.
The right amount of motion blur and good AA really make all the difference.
Soon....
Did that car on the left have illuminated rims?
Glowing brakes as it was under heavy braking and so very hot.
What in the world? I didn't even know they did that. I've never seen a game do this (though I've never played Forza so I don't know if they do it). Don't remember such detail in GT either. That's amazing

Yep It's a lot lower now you see far less of the roof in the cockpit and probably a little more to the middle of the car as well.
GT5 did it, in replay mode at least.
actually I don't think the camera is lower, it's actually higher, but angled down so you can see what's in front of the car easier. you can see the side mirror is lower than the old build now meaning they raise the camera up.
That's a GT5 replay shot? I'm truly at a loss for words. Wow. Gorgeous.GT5 did it, in replay mode at least.

Motorstorm Apocalypse to
Before the delay, I can just imagine Sony's decision makers sitting down with a supposed gold evaluation copy of this and wondering how the fuck GT6 on PS3 looked better. Evolution has clearly been struggling with the PC style architecture, or just way overshot things with effects bloat and overly ambitious lighting. I hope this isn't something we see repeated with other first parties (ND, SSM) who have been exclusively invested in the proprietary Playstation ecosystem for their entire existence.
I dont get why this game is getting hype, I dont get whats so great about it:

.Wow. Based on this footage, DriveClub is the best looking next-gen game shown so far. It's ridiculous how realistic it looks.

This looks like it has no point at all as a
Driving game.

If you aren't interested in racing games, then yeah, I don't see why this would excite you.
But if you are a fan of racing games, what's not to like?

But I see Need for speed and that looks about ages ahead of this in terms of interesting, even GT6 on PS3 looks fresh and interesting.
What are they doing in Drive Club thats interesting?
Oh forgot even The Crew looks ages in terms
Of interesting.
I love GT but damn what are you on? The recent footage of DC looks better than GT6. That is no mark against GT6 though since that game looks fantastic and PD are wizards.
seeing the vid just makes me want GT6 on PS4......
what could of been

What the heck is the point of Drive Club and why are people gawking at freaking graphics?
Is that the point of this game teh graphics...really?.
