I think the whole charade is exploding to bits and space because Microsoft is "The King of Online".

What should worry people is that both Microsoft and Sony have day one patches. If any one of them fail to deliver it, their respectable console won't survive the onslaught the next day.

COD is usually pretty solid, Halo too (even if 4 was shit).

Sounds like the Xbone is coming in on fire though, so you're probably right.

Especially given that she's his wife and is not involved in doling out information/rumours whatsoever.

I don't agree. I think if people buy the console and it crashes switching between apps and everything you do online is completely fucked... they're going to be mad. People making games for that system think that also.

People who do follow this forum know I had the ps4 reveal, the xb1 reveal, the xb1 e3 (12/15 games!), the ps4 reveal, the only person on this forum going against cboat/etc that the PS4 wasn't launching in October, the driveclub delay, cod 720p... any now this.

So was it a long con? Did I get inside info on all of that shit so I could screw everyone at the very last second? I would almost believe that if it wasn't sony. They aren't that competent. I actually offered myself, sexually(not sexually), to Adam Boyes early last summer and he said "You aren't qualified."

I'm not. But evidently I can still do some shit from out here. And I'm so goddamn poor Im selling off my ps4/xbox1 preorders that I made on day one that I won't get. Yeah, I'm that guy.


Anyway, when this is also correct, and we'll wait till the end of november for that to happen, if you're going to base your website/podcast on what I say you can just reach out to me. My fucking email in everywhere. I get 1900000 spam messages a day, just to keep it open to people. I think I just won a million british pounds. But the point is that if you're going to talk about what I bring up... talk to me. I'm smart-ish. Im slightly funny. I also don't make a penny off of any of this. My blog is on wordpress, the ads give them money. My podcast, like wordpress, costs money. So I spend about $300 a year doing what I do. This year I've gotten a lot of donations (thank you if you're reading!) which cover this year but not all years. Not that I think all years should be covered. I'm not great at making podcasts (or good... mediocre, maybe?).

My email is blowing up. I have about 100 comments to read - not tonight, to be truthful I started drinking heavily after posting. I'm anxious, you guys kinda scare me. But I'll read the comments. And the tweets. And if I see links in from n4g or reddit or 4chan or wherever I'll read all of that as well. I always do. Does that make me egotistical? Or paranoid? Or drunk?

I'd expect that unstable features will just be disabled until they are stable.

At the very minimum, the console just needs to be able to launch games and play media.

In all honesty that's not an impressive list...

From what I remember he didn't "leak" the DRM situation. At the time rumors were swirling from many sites that Sony might be implementing a DRM policy that was similar to Microsoft's.

The yield issues cannot be proven. Not saying he's wrong but we can't say he's right either. Even then he's only supporting what other "insiders" are saying.

It was actually "TheSameCoin" that called the Driveclub delay. Famous actually at first came in, said the site was wrong and click baiting. He later came back and said he was wrong.

Thuway is the one that called CoD at 720p while Famous only somewhat hinted at it.

Many people actually didn't believe that the PS4 was launching in October and many people stated this in the thread at the time.

This! If the issue persists beyond launch, shit will hit the fan. People aren't going to sit around waiting for a software fix, especially if the fix is more than a few days away.

The thought of people who are legit angry at mort and firing hateful stuff just because he chose to reveal some info about a video game console launch is kind of funny, but also sad and at the same time a bit frightening.

Just think. Famous (or even semi-famous) people probably deal with a firehose of that shit every day.

Should this be the case, it could most definitely be disastrous. Especially considering Microsoft's mainstream pitch has been predominately focused on the immediacy, convenience and general all-in-oneness that the Xbox One provides, and to have one of the biggest parts of that broken at launch.

Ouch.

Sure, I am not denying that it would suck big time. My point just was that they would rather disable features, even crucial features, than having the console crash every time you do certain actions.

General consensus is that both systems will have OS and Online issues at launch as to be expected

News is that the XB will have significant live problems that may take months to solve

Confirmation of XB live problems from proelite, mortimer, thuway, and liquidmetal off the top of my head

Oh also Matt of course :)
