Search and Destroy is coming back November 15th!
I love the M14, it's the sole reason I played MW3 for as long as I did. I was a newb during COD4 so it was way too hard for me to use then and didn't like it as a sniper gun in MW2 but have always loved its sound.I think I'm finally starting to get back into the swing of things. I haven't played COD since the first Black Ops, though that's really not that long, it took a bit to feel comfortable again.
As far as things I like, I love the marksman rifle weapon class. In previous COD games I always favored the semi-automatic assault rifles. My favorite gun has to be the M14 from Modern Warfare for its high damage, including the ability to one-shot kill (with Stopping Power), and its high kick, oddly enough. But in the COD games I played, the selection was always limited to a gun or two. Now there's an actual class.
That said, I've only been using the MK14 EBR (unsurprisingly!) which coincidentally seems to be the best of them numbers-wise (longest max damage range). It does feel so good getting that PING! from a single well-placed shot.
I do like the ability to forgo pieces of equipment for extra perk slots, I've always been a perk person. Though with how perks are broken up in this game, it feels like you have to give up at least one piece of equipment to get decent perk selection.
As for the annoying things, the spawn system being a nuisance is an expectation for COD at this point. With the maps being relatively circular and with no forced re-spawn delay (in TDM), it's bound to happen.
Not a fan of the unlock system. It's nice that you can use squad points to unlock perks and weapons when you want, but the overall system it seems too restrictive. I get what they're going for with the Create A Soldier thing, but since I only play with a few loadouts, it's not very useful for me. And why is it that certain hair colors/skin tones are unlocks? That one just makes me laugh and shake my head at the same time.
Overall, it's Call of Duty, pretty much.
lol, so after getting fed up with BF4's horrendous fucking netcode, I come check out this thread looking for an alternative. Nope.
It seems better with this 3.2 patch that came out. Performance seems better too.
what patch? pc only? did it fix the spawns?
I havn't gotten a PC patch...
Also, my game is at full setting for everything, yet, my textures aren't working right...
Do you have the textures set to auto? Manual that up if you don't. Image quality helps out a lot too.
unlocking guns sux. that is all.
Its weird. Its the most fun I've had since MW2 but so many people hate it lol
For those curious, Sandy Ravage posted his impressions on the game (360 version)

Does it, at least, help not being spawn killed?Maps are too big and labyrinth-like. (Just one hour logged-in).

Oh. Oh wow. I feel sorry for anyone who plays against me in Search and Rescue. Oh my. Wow. This is something else. My word.
Yeah, I have everything with a setting to the highest. No defaults :/
I never feel safe in this game haha. So many line of sights.
Exact opposite experience on my end. BLOPS2 had issues, but in 147hrs it's never been anywhere close to that bad. Meanwhile ghost has been nearly unplayable. Hoping it gets better in the coming weeks. In BO2, those situations where I'd hear two shots and die immediately (with the killcam showing 8-12) were more the rule than the exception much of the time.
Fuck this game...lol. These maps are a labyrinth maze of shit. There's really nothing to learn, and very little strategy, because you just gotta keep moving and accept that you'll get shot in the back and side a ton. It does run smooth on the 360, though.
Players are complaining on the Steam forum that The new Multiplayer update kills FOV FIX
Has IW explained what the deal is with these dedicated servers? I'm getting some pretty nasty lag spikes every now and again and I see host migration at least a few times per gaming session.

last I heard we're rolling them out over time.
