That thing was ridiculous for the delay on menu transitions once it was booted up. The initial startup never bothered me
And after the slow crawl of the 360, 30 seconds on a cold start isn't the end of the world

Also... I thought there was a low power state, just not game suspend/resume. Is that wrong?
Thats 30 seconds + time it takes to load the game. Waiting is so last gen.
Handheld gaming has really spoiled me.

There's a difference between a 30 second cold-boot and a 30 seconds to reach every damn screen on the Wii U including the damn settings.

Wait..the PS3 takes 20 second to boot? It seems like it ALWAYS takes longer for me..(maybe because my HDD is super full and the XMB is..uh...it doesn't like digital hoarders like myself)

Yes there is but there is no save state as in preserve your game state when in sleep mode.

no i'm not talking about sleep/resume. I'm saying this cold-boot sounds like when you press the switch at the back of the console, and then turn the system on. Which everyone does the first time. But every time afterwards you turn on the system from a low powered state (the switch at the back always stays on), so the boot time may be shorter?

Suspend/Resume really does need to be added soon. That is one of the most useful features.
lol, so the "cover-ups" turned out to be:
- Booting from scratch takes an extra 10 seconds
- Twitch is integrated and working day one, with additional features
- Videos are allowed to stream instead of download
- You can double-tap the PS button to quick-switch
- Trophies have rarity levels

But seriously, did I miss any actual bad features here? What was the rumor that Beer was talking about, then? Was it about PSN instead of the UI? Then why does the Store load quickly and efficiently, according to IGN? Did anyone at all complain about online gameplay so far from the event?

30s is quite a lengthy bootup. It sucks already on PS3 as well, if you have an external HDD plugged in, and a lot of files on internal drive, I'm sure it can take even longer than that before you can actually do anything (and that health warning didn't help things either). I hope they patch in standby mode as soon as possible.

But standby is there right? As in the low powered mode that downloads stuff while the console is off. It should be faster to boot up from that.

Uhhh i'm pretty sure the console has a sleep state still. Unless Sony lied or i've misread the FAQ. You just can't resume games once you've gone into the sleep state. So instead of 30 seconds to boot up, and 30 seconds to load a game (depending on the game of course) for a total of a minute to play a game. You can subtract that first 30 seconds to boot if you use sleep mode. once that patch comes out the game load should be gone as well (as long as it's the same game you had the console sleep on).

AFAIK, XB1 cold boot is 17 or 20s (and it has suspend mode at launch)
Yeah, that's a problem with PS3. If the internal HDD is full with stuff, this secondary wait can really get quite long.

As long as that patch comes along sometime soon, I still prefer this over the Bone.
I don't think I heard complaints about the Wii U's boot time very often AT ALL.
