Yeah that was really well do e IMO
This is the one thing I was looking forward to the most from all the Launch News but I haven't seen one thing about it. Would've been the first thing I tested on my PS4.
I'm trying it right now but it won't connect to my PS4. I did remote play in my house last night to test but doesn't seem to want to work now. Bummer
Remote play to my PS3 works fine right now so unless they are using different ports not sure what's going on
This dude tried the remote play from his work to his home using the power of internet. There's lag but it works.

Maybe you have to enable UPnP or some type of port forwarding?
Yeah mine works nothing like that and I'm sitting next to the system on the same network. What am I doing wrong here?
You need to go into the PS4 settings and enable the direct connection option for remote play.

I did. It's a stuttering mess that drops connection.

I would probably say a baseline of 5Mbps up at home / 5Mbps down in remote location (in addition to low network saturation in both) would be needed for a fairly decent experience. I wouldn't expect much out of anything less than that for either though. Guess I'll find out later today though.
Still, it's neat that it's even an option (and has been with PS3 even with how bad local RP was), because I suspect there will be a good many people with the connections to make use of it, and that number should grow over the years as high speed bandwidth becomes more and more common. I'd like to see RP over the internet from someone with Google Fiber at home, don't think you can get much better than that.![]()
Works perfect from my office. Going to test over tether LTE on Tmo in an hour or so. I'll be sure to take a video.
Seriously? Awesome news. What's your up down on both ends?
How many wireless networks do you have in your place? If you look up via a computer or iPad or whatever? Do you have the PS4 plugged in with Ethernet or wireless?
Usually my upstairs neighbors shows a weak signal. (Townhouse, where they are stacked ontop of each other)

The difference between your office and home connections is absurd. So you can get away with only 5 mbps up/down like someone above said? Nice. What game are you playing over it?
Edit: And 9 ms ping? That's probably the most important detail.
Tried the Internet mode while sitting right next to the PS4 and it lagged pretty badly. Can't see ever using it, even with a turn-based game since it made the menus hard to navigate as well. Direct connection to the PS4 worked great though.
Lol first time I've seen someone with a higher connection at home.Home connection:

I'm guessing the average home upload speed is 10Mbps.
:lol :lol :lol
Tons of people don't even have 10Mbps down. Up is normally throttled.
Is your PS4 connected to the router with LAN cable?
