Media Create Sales: Week 46, 2013 (Nov 11 - Nov 17)

Good job, Vita (and Vita TV).

Your move next, Wii U.

Good sales for Vita, but I did expect more from God Eater 2 and a cheap SKU. Vita TV is probably going to be a very small part of Vita's overall sales. 3DS sales are good but its down YoY. Wii U didn't drop below 10k so that's a win before 3D World week next week

I'm agree with Vita, but if you say both, which I take it with 3DS included, I have to disagree. 3DS JRPG library is stellar with SMT IV, FEA, and Etrian Odyssey.

AD-hoc>Online in Japan, so no.

I consider FEA a tactical rpg, which I feel also is lacking on both handhelds. ( unless the formula has changed a lot from the previous versions )

From the little I've played of Etrian Odyessey- It feels like a dungeon crawler , rogue like .

Smt 4, I haven't played or seen videos , so not sure how this plays.

But I speaking more of traditional RPGs ( doesn't have to be turn based) - more like Beavely Default and persona Golden

I mentioned this on a previous page Vita TV seems to be a bit of soft launch to be honest. The highest figure for Vita TV shipped is around 120k considering the thing had a 30% sell through on its first day back on Thursday. I'd expect the sell through to improve over the week to at least around 50% which would have Vita TV launch shipment around 90k.

Well, you mean traditional RPGs like P4G and Bravely Default, yes I agree that both handhelds is lacking. Maybe its because the company that used to make them switch their market to something else like SE do? JRPGs after all, especially big IPs often required massive resource to make. As for tactical RPG, at least 3DS have FEA which is pretty damned good title while Vita doesn't have any new TRPG to offer. I doubt it Sega will ever announces Valkyria Chronicles Vita D:

*Shakes head*

Terrible sales for the Vita yet again guys!

Isn't this too bovious? At least do it wonderfully like freez did.

It's going to clear 600k on the PS3 alone. Really impressive.

I certainly wasn't expecting this, especially so late in this gen. I knew it wouldn't matter in the West, but Japan was another story. Good for Rockstar.

Pretty meh sales for Band Brothers P... looks like Nintendo is still in the habit of overshipping, I see. Anyone got some numbers for the DS game? 40k looks really low.

I actually expect more from Vita TV. As a cheapest system in the market which launched along with the biggest title like GE2, I expected it to sell close to 100k.

So by RPG you only mean games that you decide are in the "traditional" form of the genre (not dungeon crawlers for some reason unknown to us) and games you have mustered up the whole momentous effort of looking at trailers for?

Ugh.

Miku was exclusive to Vita, while GE is on PSP, Vita, and Vitatv.

GE2 is much bigger though. I think you have to look at the Vita sales from the launch of the 2000 and not just this week. Sales were really high these last few weeks compared to other weeks with no big games releasing.

I was trying to point out what games I would like to see more of on both handhelds and what I feel is lacking. I don't understand why any of this offends you.

Fire emblem is great but that's all there is. :(
Sometimes I want a different setting .

Because you're making up genre definitions and discarding what doesn't appease you for silly reasons? I don't know, maybe that might have something to do with it.

Can I try? --

All systems have done better than the previous week excluding the WiiU, Wii, and 3DS. This marks a significant decline for Nintendo's brand name as Sony and Microsoft are eating their lunch and making gains in consoles and handhelds. They better watch themselves or they may find themselves in the same downfall BlackBerry is currently playing out in Japan.

Very strong start for GE2. And to think that before Toukiden, I would have expected the inverse of that Vita:pSP ratio .

I do wish that GE2 and Vita TV had launched further apart, so we could better assess their impact on hardware sales individually, but oh well.

IMO the Vita HW numbers are kinda disappointing given that GE2 is supposed to be the biggest Vita game of the year.

What game? AFAIK PS3 version always sell more than Vita.

There have been a couple of precedents where Vita versions sold more (Akiba's trip 2 and Sen no Kiseki iirc), but still, games that are available both on Vita and PS3 sell surprisingly high on Vita considering its low install base (Dragon's Crown comes to mind).

Great Vita performance this week. I wonder how long GE2 legs will be and how will VTV continue to perform.

Also, very surprised the Vita version of GE2 outsold the PSP one for so much.

and new hardware too..
I would have expected way more than that. (Not saying it sold poorly, just saying it should have been better)

I'm surprised MC is counting PSVita TV sales numbers in with PSV. Doesn't the PSVita TV use the same concept of the Gamecube gameboy player? Were those sales counted toward GBA hardware sales back in the day?

Frankly, considering franchises like Monster Hunter and God Eater are typically so successful because they are on handhelds, with local play, GE2 sure didn't move too many Vita handhelds.

3DS has fallen behind last year again.
I imagine it could end up on top, but even then, it's hard to call.

Next year will definitely be a major decline though.

That was an accessory for the GC. It didn't work without the GC.

VitaTV is a Vita and doesn't need any other hardware to function.
