NPD Sales Results for November 2013 [Up3: Zelda, Pokemon, Mario, 3DS, Wii U]

Yup, the X1 and PS4 both having an even amount of days to shine in December will be the bigger NPD than this month's mellow November NPD.

December's NPD will be no different to November, it will tell us how many consoles each company shipped to NA.

By all accounts, Sony started production a month earlier, they are producing as many consoles as MS, at the least. We also know a not insignificant portion of stock in mainland Europe is still on shelves.

What will be telling is worldwide sales.

Monday will be a full two weeks since Sony revealed their 2.1m number, indications are they can supply 100k consoles per day, that would be an additional 1.4m. Even with a high margin of era, it's fair to say Sony should have topped 3m by now with relative ease. I also understand there are some Asian launches this weekend too, therefore consoles will have been stockpiled for that.

The interesting question is whether Sony's next sales update will trumpet the 3m sales threshold being broken, or whether they think 4m is possible before the New Year.

Ps4 better get some consoles out. That's my take away. People want them but how long will they wait while Xbones are sitting there on the shelf?

I gotta laugh at Major Nelson

That guy´s spin on the sales is funny and what an embarrassment for Microsoft to have such a guy on their payroll.

100k X1
1m Ps4

But X1 is the fastest selling console in NA LOL :)

That's what people said about Wii U and look how that turned out.

If you think the Wii U is noticeably more powerful than 360/PS3, I suggest you buy some glasses. It's clearly not.

Nintendo released a console that's not much more powerful than six year old consoles with a shitty OS, a disappointing account/online system and a laughable VC library. What you're hoping for is - I'm sorry - delusional, it's a dream.

I don't have any faith in them to ever do it--especially under the current leadership. I just think it's their ONLY available avenue to become a player again in the console market.

The Wii-U numbers simply don't look promising, but I think they will be fine and get past this. Don't troll me, but I think they will be okay. I have to imagine they're making a profit on the hardware sold at the very least, right?

The worst part is they really can't do much with the Wii U right now. Unless Nintendo can conjure a miraculous Wii Sports-caliber lightning in a bottle it's doomed to low-ball for the rest of it's console cycle with no third party support and only first party Nintendo games. It's in that awkward moment where it feels too premature to kill it but there's no point in actually developing things for it.

I really don't know how this console could fuck up so badly, I really don't. It pains me to say this cause I fucking love my Wii U and have gotten some of my best enjoyment in gaming out of it but this thing is practically on it's last legs after only a year into it's life cycle.

Not this again, power has nothing do it....it's a brand problem...

The only positive news I can take as a fan of some Nintendo series (not Mario)...is that

A.) We shouldn't see Mario, outside of Kart, for a long time.
B.) Hopefully major changes and shake up at Nintendo.

Sony hasn't released any sales PR because they're trying to hire Major Nelson to spin their Vita numbers.

Very interested in PS3 numbers myself

Wait why will they still get 0 3rd party support if they release a console that is on par with the PS4 and Xbox One? If it's basically similar hardware architecture, it will be a negligible cost for 3rd parties to port. There's no reason why they wouldn't support it.

I know I would pick one up if they did. I still have a soft spot for Nintendo just need to make powerful hardware.

Wow horrid Wii U numbers... but Cranky Kong will save it. 3DS is a bit lower than I expected too. I figured it would make it to 1m.

Part of me thinks, PLEASE get new management over at Nintendo! And then another part of me is scared that the new management would make them even worse, lol. I want a management team where Western side is just as important as the Japanese side, and online play/features/functionality is hugely important. BECAUSE IT IS! AND THEY'RE IGNORING THAT! It's frustrating as a fan of both Nintendo and the Wii U.

They're taking a loss on the WiiU, after dropping the price on the premium system.

it's fucked.

Embarrassment for them? It's what he's paid to do....

A more up to date system, power wise, for Nintendo next console meant nothing for third party. Look at the Wii U and see how much 3rd party games it is getting from PS360 in 2013-2014. I don't know how Nintendo can solve this but I sure hope they do find a new ground.
