Well I'm a sucker for initializing-the-ship/mecha/weapon-for-the-first-time sequences so that was cool.
I have to say I don't like the doctor's character design. He really doesn't feel like he's part of the same show as everybody else.
The other characters have a retro feel, sure, but they've also been modernized and designed to be consistent with each other. The doctor just feels like an anachronism.

Inferno Cop is not just the greatest show ever made, it is the sum of human endeavor as a whole. Truly, the post-Inferno Cop world is a sad place as now we must look towards the past, for what in the future could ever equal the majesty of Inferno Cop?
The lack of Inferno Cop votes makes me sad.

I didn't even started it, hah! I just read the summary and thought "another mediocre anime where they are in a MMO? with some bs excuse of how they will die in real life if they die in game? yeah, no thanks".
I would think the idea of refitting an ancient naval battleship as an intergalactic warship would make that much clear, LOL.

Sure, the wave motion gun is basically a massive heat gun! Stop using your physics it will detract from the cool.
Not sure anything can beat using cold fusion bombs to freeze a volcano.

thought it bumped up a notch on episode seven, and it keeps getting better from there.

It gets better but doesn't fundamentally change.
Well, it is more the style of humor and the lack of budget just reminded me too much of Adutl Swim fare for me to get attached.
For some reason, all I could think about while watching was Action League Now! (an old stop motion thing from Nickelodeon).

I hate myself for not picking this up over the summer when it was running. Instead I tortured myself by saying there weren't many good shows on. i was wrong. So many hidden gems from over the summer.
I really enjoyed this one. Characters were fun and enjoyable, there was a story I could follow and lots of comedy.

You know, a complaint I have about this show now which happened after the OVA is how much better the villains are before they are cleansed and such. Now don't get me wrong, Zakuro is still cute and all but Sado Zakuro was so much better and I fear the new character will be more of the same.

Yep this was a show that knew what they were doing . Down to it , it was more than pleasant , it was trully enjoyable, even if you don't care about the fanservice.
Check out the games
Only check the Second game, check the third game only if you liked the 2nd.Ignore the first... It does have a fun plot but the game mecanic are horrible.

Let us hope that one of crunchyrolls catalog boxes is yamato 2199.
I thought eps 1 barely is just introduction to barebone stuff, and eps 2-3 have great pacing and make everything brief and straightforward.
