Ok, seriously?

You legitimately think that there are survivors this deep in space? C'mon now, this has trap written in bold 100pt font.

I suppose they do need the extra material to repair the engines so I guess a side mission to check for survivors is no unacceptable.

When all else fails, aim for the balls.

What was going on between Kalilin and that woman? Like, that didn't make any sense to me. And is Tessa going to be this guy's new surrogate older sister? And she's in love with Sousuke. Great. I bet that's just what Chidori wanted to hear. Shit's about to get complicated.

That was a purrific short. I was quite meowmazed by how much content they meonaged to fit into this kind of short.
The CG was quite pawssable too.

Episodes 98-110
No! Please! Don’t show me what the good guy atttacking force on the castle is doing! I wanna see how the freaking Gungi game goes! No seriously, the King playing that game with the blind girl has got to be one of the most tense moments I’ve ever seen.
Why is this king such a well-written character? One minute he’s your typical villain ranting about how great his power is and the next he’s consoling the young girl who was the only one to defeat him in that game, over and over. That scene was executer beautifully.

It’s nice to see some of the Chimera Ants are following some of their own goals now. I like how the Octopus decided to go save Killua after he saved him. He’s a pretty cool guy.

Hah, the smoke-user trolling the cheetah in his game was hilarious. But what can I say? The dude has “DEAL WITH IT” sunglasses on.

It was really heart-breaking seeing Knov freak out when going to the stairs. When his hair turns white due to stress a couple days after, you know he was scared shitless then. The guy’s calm, cool composure was completely shattered. He seemed like a different guy! I wonder how Hisoka would have reacted to that aura.

Ugh, why must I run out of episodes to watch here?!? I can’t see this arc ending for another 10+ episodes! Aw well. At least now I have another show to look forward to every week.

All right. Now that I’m caught up with this, time to hop aboard the Yamato train to see what the fuss is all about.

Check out the OT too.

I feel like I'm watching this show more for the villains and less for the actual protagonists.

I want to see a Phantom Troupe OVA.

Well the protagonist are also awesome , but the fact that the vilains in hunter x hunter aren't generic and the author actually make us spend enough time with them so that we know them is the plus here. In most stories you have the point of view from the heroes and maybe a flashback from the vilains... but here the whole set of events is viewed from both sides at once.

It's so much easier to enjoy hunter x hunter because of this fact .
Not to mention that there are a bunch of character that are badass and aren't either good guy or bad guys ( the whole zoldick family for example ).

Space Battleship Yamato 5-26 END

So like... I put Yamato as number 1 on my AOTY list at episode 4, mainly because I had faith that it would retain its position based on what I ranked. After finishing it, I clearly made the right choice on that decision.

I'm not entirely sure on what to say that other gushers have stated, but damn, this was some good stuff.

The only possible threat right now is Aku no Hana, which I'll start either today or tomorrow.

Day off , first paycheck , first shopping !

Cliffanger ending on fino after she was
assaulted

Damn good episode .

The World God Only Knows Goddesses 1-2

I really like the new format! I'm sad that Elsie is going to be gone for a while, but it's adorable she's Kanon. lol.

Also Kanon with the feels early on, makes you wish Keima would pick her, but way too much story to go.

Haqua is great as Keima's buddy now. Way cuter than I initially thought her. Also, the Opening is amazing. The ending is nice too, although I'm looking forward to later when you hear it sung by the 6 different goddesses :D

Oh and the Body Swapping was great. xD

Space Battleship Yamato 2199 4-6

This might dethrone Attack on Titan as my #1 if this keeps up.

The assault on the Pluto base was very fun to watch and it was nice that this show doesn't pull deus ex machina out of thin air in order to win battles, there is actual tactics coming into play.

One gripe I have is that once it was clear the Yamato was still alive why the alien commander didn't just send all the carrier ships against it? He used them to retreat away from the base when his supposed only weapon the beam cannon fell. Just strange strategy I guess. But then again he was arrogant as fuck so it doesn't annoy me too much.

AoT was like, my #9 in the AOTY thread. I like it, but it has issues.

I don't disagree it has many problems but it was the most entertaining anime I watched so far.

I have only watched like 5 shows this season so I'm trying to plow through some of the popular ones like Yamato, Flowers of Evil, and Yozakura Quartet.

Yozakura Quartet 13
Finally got around to watching that final episode. Pretty good though it doesn't wrap up the main plot whatsoever so I assume they were already planning a second season or something. The fight between Enjin and Akina was pretty cool especially when
the principal entered the fight. That revelation from Enjin about having tuning abilities is also interesting
. That ending was sweet

Fruther exemple that people unable to accept change can sometimes be total morons .

Predictable episode setting up events for an arc ( that shpould be final ).
Fino dream was intresting , raul version of said dream was magnificent lol.

Yamato 2199 2

Wasn't sure what to make of this show after the first episode, but this episode was good stuff. Interested to see the dynamics between the characters develop on the Yamato. Also wonder how long it will take them to reach where they're going and what will happen on the way.

This admiral dude is a champ. Kodai...not so much. Don't like him too much yet.

Don't hate the player, hate the game. He already has
obviously-an-alien girl
tsundere for him.

Yamato I surprising me in how much I enjoy it. I never recall this being in the OT banners and would have never watched it if I didn't see some pics and impressions in this thread. Its already my AOTY.

Hahaha I knew it!
Why was she so surprised when he asked her in ep4 (or 5). Shock for hitting the nail on the head?

Silver Spoon - Episode 11 (End)

I remembered that I never actually watched the final episode of the first season because I was kinda put off by the long wait before the continues. With the new season starting next week, it was finally time to finish it.

Great episode. I really like how it contextualized the events of the season in terms of Hachiken's progression, and also introduced enough character hooks leading into the next story arc. It's nice to watch a relaxing show which is a very different type of "high school drama".

Part of the reason why I follow this thread is to pick up shows I would've otherwise never heard about. At least 2/3 of the shows I watch are because of people's impressions here.

Didn't expect Yamato to have
dat ass fanservice

Sooo much elastic booty everywhere. But I'm not complaining.

I expected Gargantia to be some glorious space battle opera but that failed terribly.

However I have high hopes for this to deliver. Good stuff!

Back I am on my own obsession with anime I guess tropes and their relationship to real Japan. The whole idea of there possibly being roots to these things in Japanese culture. In the past I've wondered about things like blood being important in sibling relationships as well as the whole intra-family romantic relationships deal anime likes to deal in.

Now I have some more, that are less troublesome.

1. Cakey. Please tell me that's used in real Japan. Its just so cute.
2. The underwear obsession. The whole power of seeing a girls underwear.
3. The whole indirect kiss thing.
4. The head pat.
5. The love of parfait.

Thats a start. And I guess it belies the kind of crap I've been watching.

oh, you'll get no argument from me. I always looked forward to the next episode. The problem was that some episodes just moved sooooo sloooowlyyyyy. I know it was a balancing act so the season ended right at the point it did, but I think they could have done a much better job on that front.

My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU

Finished watching it and it ended up being very disappointing. I mean the early start was decent and fun, pretty much just a Yankee-kun to Megane-chan, but Hachiman being a far more interesting character than Adachi or Shinagawa. Then there was also the goddess best girl Yukino. But then as I kept watching I realized what a horrible character Yukino is, especially during the festival arc. Inconsiderate asshole and doesn't even care that she was the one that started the whole divide with the committee chairman. Also all the "serious" parts are just bad, really bad. Pretty much everything regarding the car accident and Yukino's family was just awful to watch. No originality and very contrived drama.

Also the complete non-ending or even any sort of resolution is disappointing, but I guess it's expected given this is another LN adaptation. Oh well, I will watch a second season if it ever happens, but my expectations are very low.

I thought the anime really made her less mean than she really is. At least thus far of the LN I read she is often extremely cruel unnecessarily. hough I love the anime for Hikki (easily I can see parts of myself in them) and Hayato.

That's I think why I like her. Or maybe its just I think that's just a hard outer shell hiding a fluffy center.

Well it was an enjoyable show even if it didn't feel like there was much progress at all throughout the whole thing. But man, the number of men getting lechy around teenage girls. JAPAN!!!!

Yeah, it was a good show, but I think I enjoyed it more around the middle than toward the end. Simply because there was still the potential for progress. Fun show, but not as good as it could have been.

I think my favorite show of the season was Arpeggio of Blue Steel. That one caught me by surprise.
