Nine Arts Dragon is still an idiot but disappointing to see Shion going weepy over him, or at least approaching him this way. The guy was an idiot in the first series and he is just more of an idiot now. Hoping Shion at least gives some grief. Personally, I think the Manga author failed in making the Nine arts Dragon a character worthy of any kind of respect. He just seemed like a goofy, irresponsible, emotionally shallow guy with admittedly serious strength in the first series. He had few redeeming features. He was in short, a bit of a git. Now he is a huge git and just as emotionally immature.

You know...I have a feeling that Minato's farewell to Naruto in the upcoming chapters is going to have a LOT of emotions in it, just by the sheer fact that Kishi may want to honor his father through his work.

Only 10 out of about 46 or so chapters have been released in English so far. Anyone know if this manga ends up being in a Nisekoi situation where no progress is made between anyone ever?

Ouch Erza is still getting tortured. Elfman is a bomber man. Jellal is dying and the power houses of FT is down and out. Looks really bad for the heroes. Gray's dad knows Natsu apparently lol. Things are getting really interesting.

I hope not, but I'm willing to read "will they won't they" shenanigans a bit longer in this case beause the comedy is half decent and kind of refreshing.

The sudden switch to another team was kinda weird and the dudes girlfriend being one of the members felt kinda contrived but I'm really glad this is still building things up at a nice pace. The whole Summer Team B being nothing but a bunch of misfits really sets them up as the underdogs in this, and rightfully so. It also really helps that the art does such a stupendous job of portraying this sense of overbearing decay and uncertainty, really puts you in the shoes of these unfortunate people.

The way Yanagi went out was incredibly tragic and the moment they realised theres no real chance of anyone they knew being alive anymore was some really heavy shit but what really stood out to me was the last bit of v3. I actually loaded up the Simon & Garfunkel song on Spotify and tried to sync it with the pages of manga and it was just…

…just too good for words.

The Breaker: New Waves 145

I didn't really like Shioon being so passive after everything shown before (the various fights, the sparring), even if he was meeting once again his loved teacher, in which he has still so much faith.
On the other hand, this gave us some more badass old man giving badass speeches and doing badass expressions and hopefully delivering an asskicking next chapter, unless Shioon decides to fight himself, which would be quite cool.

Any was glad that Furuichi is still powerful enough to make contracts simultaneously.

Satan is a bit less tall than I imagined.

That one half panel shot of the back of Erza...though the front shot of Natsu sitting there was amazing, stupid foot.

I was hoping Cana would have realized things this chapter instead of making it last into the next chapter, and with no Ultear, I guess Jellal may finally be a victim of bad writing :(

Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei v12 (Double Seven Chapter) (LN)

Stunning arc with various great things going on in this second year for the favorite. Shippou is my favorite of the new characters introduced along with Kento who I think needs to hang around become a Tatsuya no 2, the gleam in his eyes and how he admires him and such.

Stunning fights especially with Million Blades v Tomitsugu and then Tomitsugu v Tatsuya.

Also Batman Tatsuya was incredibly memorable.

He marries and even has a kid with her in the future, but is giving her up just so his friend won't commit suicide? Wow. If the future changes, I hope he gets something great in return. What a guy.

That halftime was shorter than I thought it was going to be. Hyuga and Kagami are now the ones to keep Seirin alive and Akashi already knows that.

Seems like we should expect more of Rakuzan beating on Seirin for a couple of chapters more.

If Seirin is suppose to win they should be showing a little more fight or something.

I sort have a feeling the manga author won't let Seirin win now. Maybe a way to prolong the story I guess.

Then again, I was always a sucker for everything DBZ so that must be the reason I'm enjoying this so much, regardless of the feeling of just retelling. Has to be because Aizen is so broken and so fun to watch. Too bad he'll inevitably be brought down by Ichigo and the power of super sayain plot-powerups.

Vertical picked up My Neighbor Seki (Tonari no Seki-kun) for english release in the Fall.

Vertical's Ed Chavez told ANN that the company has been working on the project for two and a half years. The company originally planned to release a collection of the best stories from the manga, but he said the property "took on a life of its own" in Japan in the last few years since Media Factory did additional marketing for the series. Chavez said Vertical will release a new volume in North America "every two months or so."
