No, they haven't shown anything new. People are just getting hyped because they're new IPs. It's just like with The Order; they haven't shown shit but people are hyped.

I don't like Gears or Forza. I'm skeptical about 343's Halo and I think the Fable games are horrible. Crackdown 3 would be cool but I have a feeling MS will turn it into microtransaction hell. I want more new IPs.

There's still Quantum Break (if you liked Alan Wake), Sunset Overdrive, Titanfall, and Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare to look forward too. I'd say the only problem would be if you don't like shooters. Most of these games are shooters.

• NEW: Limited 1 TB box in November

It's always nice to randomly open NeoGAF on your phone and see a thread like this.

I'm really interested in seeing what an HD remake looks like on a new console. How much better will Halo 2 Anniversary look compared to the first one, even ignoring how good Halo 2 looked at the time? They're both HD remakes of games released on the original Xbox, after all. It will be fun seeing what new stuff they add this time around and what advantages they take with the more powerful hardware.

Don't know what to think.
No Halo 5 this year would be a huge negative thing also considering they were so sure to release it in 2014 back at E3 2013.
Quantum Break this year? Remedy didn't seem really confident about it last December at the VGX premiere (LOL).
A new SKU without the optical drive seems a logical solution to drive the price down instead of dropping the Kinect, while it's true that just the drive accounts for no more than 20$ to them and so alone it doesn't cover a 100$ price cut, costs of other components will go down as well with a first internal hardware revision.
Also no optical drive is more inline with a digital download future....(and DRM ).

I remember a time when I could barely contain myself waiting for Rare's next release. Ah, the good old days of the N64. Blast Corps, Jet Force Gemini, Goldeneye 007 and Perfect Dark, Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie, Donkey Kong 64 and Diddy Kong Racing, Conker's Bad Fur Day...Rare was arguably pound-for-pound THE best developer for the system, even over Nintendo themselves.

Rare today, though? Most of the talent left years ago, and Microsoft's got the rest of them making insipid Kinect Sports games ad nauseum. At this point, I think even a new Viva Pinata game from them is out of the question. Chances are, they're not "up to" anything other than what they've been doing for the past few years.


So much disappointment about Halo 5 missing 2014! Really? Halo games aren't made overnight, and this one's on a brand-new console. Being Microsoft's flagship franchise, the game's going to have to look extremely impressive and have very polished gameplay, and those take a hell of a lot of time too. Halo 2 Anniversary is basically an opportunity for the devs to learn the ins and outs of the tech/engine/etc., so that Halo 5 can benefit from their experience, much like Halo 1 Anniversary was towards Halo 4. (Though I guess what baffles me more is that there are people in 2014 complaining about a game being delayed, most of whom probably have a backlog several hundred games strong.)

I..uh..I'm not excited by any of this. Fable is too far off to get hyped about at all, and I thought Lionhead was supposed to be on a new IP? And who knows what the next crackdown will be like. New crackdown isn't exactly breaking news either, MS have been dropping teases.

I mean, the only things that are piquing my interest are Quantum Break and Sunset Overdrive this year, but I still want to see some proper footage of those two.

White SKU is what they should've done from the very beginning. However, even that is just a color change. Its cool but not game changing.

Also, an SKU without a disc drive sounds absolutely horrible.

Yup I agree about about the Discless SKU.

I wouldn't want one, but interestingly enough I guess they would satisfy the cheaper X-1 requirement and also wouldn't have to pay a fee for the Blu-Ray.

Who's going to sell this? This would go against retailers who make nothing f the hardware and make the most profit off of the software. I doubt this is true, as I think a lot of retailers would start pushing the PS4 hard over the Xbox One for this reason, regardless of the pricepoint.

Just take out Kinect and make it $399 already.

Nothing has excited me in this leak - I dislike Halo for a start - and nothing has yet to tempt me with a PS4 yet either, I've got more than enough to play on older systems, but new, different IPs instead of the same old shit would be nice.
