Once in a while some random fighting game threads are made on here. Reading them has made me realized a majority of the masses have no idea what they are talking about when it comes to fighting games or a particular game and it would take way too much time and effort to respond/educate and correct these posts when said people probably do not care either way.

This is why so many good posters stay in Community threads. Too many people either don't read or don't care when an actual good post is made.
I think it's worth worrying about if it can destroy the game. But for most games it rarely does to the point people make it sound like it will.YeaH that thread made me sick to my stomach. I feel like some people would enjoy (and excel at) fighting games so much more if they didn't worry so much about character balance. It's such a shallow issue IMO.
Well, not that Community threads don't have their own miscreants and Dee Jay players, but it does beat discussing things like you're in Youtube comments. This is why so many good posters stay in Community threads. Too many people either don't read or don't care when an actual good post is made.

Gotta love the internet.Too much spare time.
Those people will never excel to begin with. You know when a fighting game is in early release and a bunch of people clamor about character rosters, their favorites, etc. (You must have, with PSAS) Balance talk is just those casuals trying to pose as competitive players, and they want some guarantee that their favorite isn't getting the short stick. (Even though they'll never get to a level where balance actually affects them)
I always laughed at Jwong for instance, because he used to give BS excuses to why he chose certain characters. It's because he knows the majority of the viewing audience picks characters superficially and not for tactical reasons.
Also, whether it's positive or negative, most people throw the word balance at fighting games because they can't critique the genre for any other redeeming values otherwise.
"I like Marvel because it's really fast and it rewards your creativity"
"but it's not balanced"
"...."
Man Spinal looks really fucking good. Very unique playstyle and tools.
The only thing I don't like about him is that they ripped Jago's windmill sword move for one of Spinal's move as well as the Glacius shoulder ram move. That is lazy as fuck.

Who is doing the SCR thread? Any interest in adding a section about what Full Boost is all about & essentially how to watch it? I remember Horseress mentioning it was hard to follow the stream. I could throw something together and put it out for comment in the OT.
HOW TO WATCH FULL BOOST
1. turn on the stream when full boost is on
2. click on the stream chat
3. type "ANIME"
4. push enter
Ben Kuchera from Polygon tweeted the link (to 31K+ followers) about SJ Cage's article on the FGC, sponsors, etc.:

I didn't see too much on this, but I guess there's not really much to say about it.
But he mentioned something that I haven't seen tons of discussion on, so, a few questions:
How would you feel about a fighting game that was 100% online only? Not saying that you have to play online, but you have to be connected for the game to work.
How would the FGC respond to such a game? If it were made by Capcom? If it were SF5? If it was made by anyone else?
How would the masses respond to such a game?
intermediate level tech:
if it's a stream that doesn't let you type the same message multiple times, perform a "mix-up" by adding additional characters to the end of follow-up messages.
examples:
"ANIMEEEEEE"
"ANIME Kappa"
How would you feel about a fighting game that was 100% online only? Not saying that you have to play online, but you have to be connected for the game to work.

That almost happened with KI.
This is probably the future of fighters if they can figure out a way to make it not suck.
Tekken Revolution is like that. Seems to be doing okay?
I enjoy it, except when the frakking servers are down.
1 PM - AE and Melee
2 PM - TTT2
2:30 PM - BBCP
3 PM - Killer Instinct
4 PM - DiveKick
5 PM - Injustice
6 PM - UMvC3
Yeah, that is weird, does anyone know if he had those moves in the old KI games?
