Five Guys Burgers are disgusting

Ok, so I was in the mood for a burger today, so when I walked by a Five Guys, I decided to give it a try. Big mistake.

First off, there's way too much cheese on the burger. Even with two beef patties, the cheese was too overpowering and dominated the flavor of the burger. Also, not all the cheese was melted, so sold pieces of cheese fell off as I was eating it, making it even more unappetizing. And to top it all off, the burger was too greasy and the bun couldn't handle it, and it disintegrated in my hands eventually.

The fries were actually decent, so it wasn't a total loss. Next time, I'm going to visit Shake Shack to get my burger fix. People say it's overrated, but it's a hell of a lot better than Five Guys.

They really aren't worth the price.

I live next to In-n-Out and The Habit as far as direct competitors. Five Guys is easily glossed over by me and my group.

Oh man I miss both In-N-Out and The Habit. I used to live within walking distance of both. The only regret I have leaving California. Five Guys is nothing compared to these two.

Boo this man.

I could see Five Guys being nothing special, but disgusting? No. I don't think i've ever had a "disgusting" burger actually.

This was my experience at Five Guys too. Okay not exact. I didn't hate their burgers like OP, but I thought they were just okay. After so much hype I was let down. I liked the fries though.

In N Out is much better.

The Five Guys by my house has amazing burgers. Maybe it's just something with that particular venue?

He described the Five Guys in my town.

Too much cheese, greasy patty, disintegrating bun.

Well, I didnt think it was disgusting, it was just a messy burger.

Also, In-N-Out isn't a choice where Five Guys is, afaik. Telling us it is better is not exactly useful information.

They can be greasy (I always get singles though) but the cheese and some other issues sounds like your particular Five Guys could have some lazy people working there. The fries are pretty sweet, and I love that they provide vinegar.

Steak and Shake owns however, so go there next time. Five Guys is overrated, I'd agree with that.

I agree with the OP somewhat. The cheese can be too overpowering sometimes and the buns fall apart almost every time I get a double patty burger. Single patty without cheese, now that's the food of gods.

The king. Come at me.

I feel like I should let everyone in this thread know that Konka is obsessed with Hawaiian pizza. He has no taste.

Also, the best combo is Five Guys fries with In-n-out's burgers. In-N-Out does the best meat to topping/bun ratio.

I've reported you for personal attacks. A man's pizza decisions are between him and his pizza.

Give people unlimited toppings, give them a show, and pointedly serve it slow and you can give people sub-par food and they don't even notice.

Five Guys burgers are good. In In-N-Out burgers are good. But Five Guys fries are way better than In-N-Out fries.

I agree, the burgers are pretty meh. Overly greasy and way too expensive for a burger so small. Five Guys only became popular because of "zomg look at this grocery bag full of fries I get!"

For the silly price of Five Guys you can get a huge awesome burger at so many other places. Five Guys is overpriced fast food that is not very fast at all.
